A very happy birthday to our dear Lady of Brightwood, one of my favorite people here and one who never fails to make me smile. Happy birthday, Lynnie! Hope it's a great one! :)

Um, by the way, where exactly is Brightwood?

Aw, thank you so much, guys. :-[ I had a pretty good birthday, despite it starting out not too well. Nothing major, there was just an overload of annoyances and it was drawing close to the "last straw". But it ended well. Got a great jacket from my mother, my dad bought me (and the rest of the family) ice cream. Yum. :D

I'm in Astoria, Oregon right now. On the coast. In a cabin. I'm delighted to see I can pick up wireless internet from the cabin and don't have to walk all the way down to the internet cafe. I still won't be on near as much as I usually am, though.

And Cass, the Brightwood I'm referring to is a small town in the foothills of Mt. Hood, Oregon (just east of Portland). I spent many years of my childhood in the area, and made some of my most cherished memories there. So when I had to come up with a title for myself when I go to Renaissance Faires, I came up with Lady Lynn from Brightwood. It almost sounded medieval too, so it stuck.

Thanks again for the well wishes you guys. I'm having a great time so far. I just miss my cat. But I'll be back home to him before I know it.

Gah - I missed it! Jeez, Lynnie I'm so sorry. I hope you'll accept my belated birthday wishes all the same - you're without doubt one of the loveliest members we have here on Never Forgotten, and you deserve nothing but the best on your big day. Hope you'll get to spend time with your feline friend very soon. :)

Aw, thank you so much you guys! :) And for the kind comments, too.

Koos, that's adorible, thank you so much! What kind of bird is that? It looks like a North American species called a tit (yes people, that's the name of a bird, no crude comments please!), is that what it is? They are very cute little birds.

With the leftover money my mother gave me to buy the jacket yesterday, I got a CD today and a Foster's tote bag at Claire's. I'll try to take a picture of it. I like it because it's not just your average tote, it has a two compartments inside, one with a zipper. So it's more like a purse. I used it as a purse for much of the day, hehe. We also went to Haystack Rock, and did some sight seeing, including a wonderful meal at a one-of-kind sea side restaurant. And I got a text from my brother, who is in Texas on his own vacation at the moment (he and his wife live in New Mexico), and we texted eachother back and forth for some time. I miss him.

Tomorrow we go to some old forts that go back to the Lewis and Clark days. More sights I remember from my childhood when we lived in the area. I'm looking forward to it. :)

EDIT: Oh, yeah the birdie is a tit, I just now scrolled down to see the caption you put underneath it. *blush* I was right though. Whoo hoo! :D
