Halloween costumes 2008

Figuring that the date is close enough (late July, dog days of summer) what's your halloween costume plans for the year 2K8?

Me? I'm planning to do Alice Version 2.0 this year. it's the same as last year's costume, but I'm adding a Peter Pan collar around my neck (I bought a parochial school blouse for that), plus pantaloons (or bloomers) and crinolines underneath my skirt.

If you have a costume plan, post it here.

xxxClaire 07-28-2008 09:03 AM

I kinda wanna go as Slash this year... my hair has the ability to go all crazy like his. :P

Lynnie 07-28-2008 03:30 PM

I haven't given it much thought yet. I need to rummage through my closet and my many costumes. Perhaps I'll wear my sideless surcoat and long sleeved shift, and be medieval lady again. But I was a medieval lady last year! And the year before that! (An entirely different costume each year, but still) Eh, I dunno. I'll think of something.

I've heard a couple people somehwere are dressing up as players from Human Tetris, better known as "Hole in the Wall". Color co-ordinated helmets and elbow and knee pads as well as those liquid silver spandex unitards.

I'll be going to the Fright Night at Walibi this year! Sadly enough, costumes are not allowed (because of previous cosplayers who done some baaaad stuff), but I'll still be looking like my Shakes-the-Clown character, Albino Rainbow, because of the Haunted Carnival-theme!!

Wow...
Odd costume choices these days. :P

Me?
I don't even want to trick or treat this year.
My parents are going to force me to look for a costume I like and everything.
I'd personally rather go candyless.

Howard 10-29-2008 06:05 PM

I am wearing the same ol' costume again like I have been all year and every year! Be afraid!::)

Pawbah 10-29-2008 09:53 PM

I going to be a pirate. A very casual Pirate. Just a piratey shirt and some pants. Seriously, I've got nothing else.

The Tale of the Bumble Bee and the Lady Bug

There once was a little bumble bee who was being held captive by a lady bug. He use to be a happy little bumble bee, but not after coming under the lady bug's control.

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...DSCI0408-1.jpg

Being held captive made him very sad. For the lady bug liked to hold him against his will, and thought it was funny because he was cute.

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...DSCI0400-1.jpg

"Muah Hahahahahahaaa!!! What a cute little bumble bee!" :slybendy: This irritated the poor little bumble bee even more.

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...DSCI0410-1.jpg

"Why am I being persecuted so? Why won't someone come and rescue me?" he would ask.

Then along came a little ballerina!

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/DSCI0377.jpg

The little ballerina knew what it was like to be held captive, so she felt bad for the little bumble bee. She knew how humiliating it was.

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...DSCI0407-1.jpg

So the little ballerina decided she'd try to help the poor little bumble bee escape. She gave the lady bug a scowl look.

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/DSCI0380.jpg

"You will let the bumble bee go right now, or I shall squash you!" she said.
But the lady bug giggled at her cuteness, and tried to capture her too. The little ballerina called for help, and her cries were heard by a jack-o-lantern.

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/DSCI0397.jpg

"Let the bumble bee go!" the Jack-o-lantern ordered in all it's glowy-ness. The lady bug was mesmorized by the pretty colors, so let the bumble bee go. And the little ballerina and the bumble bee were happy.

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/DSCI0399.jpg

While the jack-o-lantern stayed behind to make sure the lady bug wouldn't hold anything else captive ever again. And all was well with the world.

The End. :pumpkin:

Bloonan 10-31-2008 06:31 PM

I narrowly escaped trick or treating, yay me!

fosters home fan 10-31-2008 06:38 PM

Awesome pics, Lynnie.

There wasn't any trick or treating in my area for some reason. >_>

Cassini90125 10-31-2008 07:18 PM

Haha, well done, Lynnie!

Sparky 10-31-2008 07:56 PM

LMAO Lynnie. ;)

We had two teen girls come by earlier, they didn't even look like they were in costumes. That's it. :P

Mac-a-lacka 10-31-2008 10:06 PM

Awesome story and pics, Lynnie. :)

It is very foggy where I am. It's kinda spooky. :macwor:

Imaginary Light 11-01-2008 12:46 PM

Haha, I like your pictures, Lynnie! Very cute!:) My cat would never, in a million years, let me dress her up.:P

I was going to dress up as a ventriloquist dummy, but then my friends and I made plans to go into Canada for some haunted house fun. So maybe I'll do the whole ventriloquist thing next year?

But I did dress my little brother up as Duncan from Total Drama Island:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...oween08002.jpg

I made his shirt, did his hair, and drew on the piercings. I'm kinda proud.:P

Lynnie 11-01-2008 04:33 PM

Thanks for the comments everyone. :bloosmirk: The pics were a given, but when trying to put them together, the silly story popped into my head so I thought I'd post it too. I felt silly about it afterward. But I'm glad you guys liked it. :) Joey was not too pleased at wearing that thing, but he tolerated it pretty well. And the other kitty, my mom's cat Jing Ling, is too sweet mannered to fuss. She just looked annoyed and gave me innocent looks like "What are you doing to me?"

Hehe, I like your little bro's costume, IL, you did a good job on it. I've been watching that show, it's pretty good.

koosie 11-01-2008 05:02 PM

Great story Lynnie. I like your antenna. Your cats look like they're well used to this sort of thing. I'm very impressed by the imagination and effort that gets put into Halloween over there. Some little kids dressed as witches turned up here but I didn't remember to get the unpleasant sweets so they got some nuts and a satsuma each. They said thank you at least.

bloonuggets 11-06-2008 07:41 AM

Here's the updated Alice in Wonderland costume I wore, complete with new hairbow, Peter Pan collar, bloomers and unseen crinoline underskirt:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...loween2008.jpg

Hopefully, next year, I'll head up to New York for The Today Show's annual Halloween contest with a twist on this costume, adding rubber shackles being dressed as "Alice in Chains".

scary_dream 11-11-2008 02:19 AM

Sorry hehe! I know I'm late!

I was Neko Zombie from the Gregory Horror Show :D

http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...NekoKristi.jpg

And Lynnie... omg lol. Kitties and bumblebees are two of the cutest things ever IMO, and seeing a kitty dressed as a bumblebee was almost too cute to handle!

Lynnie 11-11-2008 03:38 PM

Thanks Scary. :) You too, Koos. It was fun. I love Halloween, it's one of my favorite holidays. I'm kind of sad it's over for another year now.

And that's some awesome makeup, Scary. I like the ears, too. :bloosmirk:

scary_dream 11-11-2008 07:24 PM

Thanks! I made em myself =D A costume as unique as Neko Zombie demanded that I make the ears and tail because seriously... if I could find Neko Zombie ears in America, it'd be a miracle.

bloonuggets 11-14-2008 10:54 PM

It was hard to top last year's zombie waitress, but a good effort nonetheless.
