Moving Day for frankie_fan!

I'm moving home!!

From tomorrow (Wednesday), I'll be moving house from my home in NSW, to Perth in WA (the other side of Australia). So I won't be able to be on here for a week or two (unless I get access to one's PC). So until then, see ya!

Cassini90125 11-26-2007 08:29 PM

Best of luck to you, dude, and definitely check in if you get the chance!

Mayor Adam West 11-26-2007 09:37 PM

Wait, one side of Australia to the other? Wow, and here I thought just having an 8 hour drive down to Napier was far....

Yeah don't let the move keep you from chatting with us every so often, whenever you get the chance give us a holler.

Either way, :smed: we'll be here when you get back.

I'm actually taking the plane to Perth, which is a 3-5 hour flight. If you want a really long ride, try going from LA to Sydney without sleeping pills. Worst. Flight. Ever!

Partymember 11-27-2007 10:59 AM

have fun!

Wow, now that changes everything, a flight is good instead of driving.

But yes, good luck anyway ;)

Medikor 11-28-2007 05:21 AM

Have a safe trip and remember that we'll be here when you get back online.

frankie_fan 11-28-2007 03:34 PM

I'm on an Internet Cafe computer, so here's what's happening:

The movers are driving to Perth, and they said that it'll take about 5-10 working days. So, while that's happening, I'm staying over at another house, then on Monday, I'm heading to Sydney to stay at a motel for the night, then on Tuesday morning, I head to Sydney Airport, and catch the plane to Perth.

It's just as well I brought my portable DVD player, some DVDs and my iPod Nano with me. Can't wait to listen to Silverchair's If You Keep Losing Sleep again!

Cassini90125 11-28-2007 03:38 PM

Nice to know things are going smoothly. If it were me, my furniture would be halfway to Hong Kong by now. 8D

koosie 11-30-2007 02:48 PM

Wow 5-10 days to move house. Suppose that's not bad across a whole Continent. I loved Sydney and I can't wait to check out Perth next time. I bet you'll grow to love it.

frankie_fan 11-30-2007 06:49 PM

Don't forget that's working days, which is Monday to Friday (I think).

Speaking of moving - I close on my house next week. We will be moving the following Saturday. I still have to put the old place up for sale.

Partymember 12-01-2007 06:55 AM

About a mile up the street in a bigger house. I sign the papers on Tues. Had the final walk-thru today...

Partymember 12-01-2007 10:31 AM

Heavy. Nice place?

cool. I love fireplaces. They're crazy innefecient compared to wood or coal stoves,. but unless you live in Michigan or Minnesota it doesn't really matter.

Happy Yule!

frankie_fan 12-02-2007 11:14 PM

I'm now on a hotel computer, and only hours away from my plane ride. I get up early in the morning and head off to the airport (even though the hotel is right next door to it!). I'll let you guys know when I've arrived in Perth, safe and sound!

frankie_fan 12-03-2007 10:01 PM

I'm back!!!

I've made it to Perth, safe and sound. But our stuff hasn't arrived yet. In the meantime, I'll try to post on my brother's PC. He lives across the street from where I'm temporarly staying.

Man, it's good to be back!

Lynnie 12-03-2007 10:02 PM

Welcome Back, FF! I'm glad you had a safe flight. Good luck in the new place! It's always fun unpacking and setting things up.

Cassini90125 12-03-2007 10:30 PM

Good to have you back, dude!

xxxClaire 12-04-2007 08:24 AM

Welcome back! Glad you had a safe trip.

Moving Day for frankie_fan, AGAIN!

My thanks to all supports!

But now, it seems as though I'm moving BACK!!! Back to NSW! :wiltshock: I wanted to wait until the day before moving day to mention this, but I just couldn't!

We ended up moving to a suburb called Thornlie which is 20 minutes from Perth, and we did enjoy our time, but in the end, we ended up getting homesick. :(

So, now we're packing all of our stuff (AGAIN!), even though we haven't started on my room! I'll provide more details as the moving day gets closer.

Also, I wanted to post an image of this little beauty that I got during my time in Thornlie:

Ain't she a Georgie peach? (Sorry, The Dukes of Hazzard got into my brain! 8D)

BTW, I'll still get the chance to see Indy 4 before the move, so don't worry!

Moving back? Wow. Well, good luck, of course. I hope it goes well for you. Everytime I get involved in moving, be it myself or someone else, it always seems to occur on the hottest, most humid day of the year. I'm not leaving this apartment unless I see snow on the ground. :bloocross:

On the bright side, at least you found that nifty SR car while you were there. Nice!

Thankfully, we're moving just before Winter, so it'll be freezing instead! 8D

It is a nice car. I seriously need to get off the Speed Racer movie for a while though, it doesn't hit Australia until June 12th.

jekylljuice 05-19-2008 09:01 AM

Best of luck, frankie fan. :) My housemates and I don't have too much longer before we'll have be moving ourselves...though our case we'll be staying within the same area, just in a different house. Exactly which house is a matter we're still attempting to get to the bottom of as we speak.

BluebottleFlyer 05-22-2008 02:37 AM

Best of British luck with the move, I hope it works out.:)

frankie_fan 05-24-2008 07:18 AM

Okay, so here's what's happening (again!):

The internet turns off Monday morning, which is when we pack the PCs, which is also when the moving people arrive. We leave for NSW EARLY Wednesday morning (our plane leaves at 6am! :(). Like last time, the moving people will take a couple of weeks before it arrives back home, but I will try to go back on here, either on someone's PC or on an Internet Cafe PC (even if they offer $2 for 20 minutes!).

Lynnie 05-24-2008 05:23 PM

I can understand what a pain it is doing this again. Best of luck FF! Stay tough, and you'll feel at home again in no time. Stay safe, too.

frankie_fan 05-25-2008 07:35 AM

I hope so. As I'm writing this, it's hours away before the movers arrive, but I will try to get to another PC or laptop before the plane flight, otherwise...

See ya later!

frankie_fan 05-28-2008 12:26 AM

I'm back... sort of!

Hey guys. I've made it, safe and sound.

Now, what's happening is that I'm staying at my uncle and auntie's place for a couple of nights until my mum gets a car. Hopefully by Friday, we will drive down back to Gosford.

EDIT - We have a car! Tomorrow, we're driving back home!!

When we get back, we will move into a friend's house, because they've gone to the Netherlands (or Holland as my mum calls it) for a month. So, we'll be able to look for a house while we stay at our temporary home. I hope to get the PC back soon.

frankie_fan 10-11-2008 07:17 PM

Hey, guys. I know I've been in my new home (safe and sound) since the beginning of August, but I felt this thread didn't end right. 8D

So, I'm now back home, and my room is done. Actually, all of our stuff is now unpacked. So, we're now back to normal!

Cassini90125 10-11-2008 07:20 PM

All's well that ends well. ;)

Glad everything worked out well for you, dude.
