High School Musical 2
 

I thought it would suck, I really did. I mean, I had to freaking BREATHE HSM because it was my school's musical this year (I was Kelsi...). I mean, it was ridiculous... It took six months to put the show together, which is idiotic....

Anyway, I really liked it. A lot...

My favorites have to be Bet on It and I Don't Dance. The dancing (in I Don't Dance in particular) was fantastic, and I loved it.

Sharpay sure was obnoxious, but I really liked Ryan's character.

I actually never saw the first movie, but I heard all the hype about it, so I watched 2 when it premiered last weekend. Some of the acting wasn't all that great, but the music and dancing were a lot of fun. Yeah, I think I've turned into a Vanessa/Zach shipper. They're so cute together! 8D

I disliked the first one quite a lot. Granted, I gave it a chance and watched it when it premired on our own televisions but I felt it was a waste of... well, a lot. The talent wasn't that great, the story annoyed me and some of the characters.. I wanted bad things to happen. So I highly doubt I'll be watching the 2nd one.

I liked the first one and Efron seems like an okay guy, but the second one lacked. It had a horrible synth sound. It was no good to me.

The second movie hasn't been released in the UK yet, but I liked the first one. The thing I don't like about High School Musical, is just all the hype. Since there have been commercials for the second movie since freakin' May, which is ridiculous 'cos it's being released September 21st, all you get on is 'High School Musical this and that' on the Disnay Channel. Music videos and commercials, one after another ALL the time! It keeps me from watching Suite Life of Zack and Cody, because I just can't bear to sit through the 'What time is it' video AGAIN! I'm sure the movie will be fine, and I want to see it, but if it's SO great, then why don't they just air it all ready!? It just ISN'T all it's cracked up to be.

OK, rant over...

What I hate is all of those "OMG Zac Efron is so cute!!! I LOVE Corbin Bleu!!! HSM rocks!!!" fan girls.

I like HSM. Not obsessed. But it's REALLY bugging me that they have TOOTHBRUSHES that sing "We're All in This Together".

Along with the whole "We're all in this together, so get'cha head in the game!" crap.

The second movie was good the first two times I watched it (we taped it for my brother). Now it's just obnoxious.

Ugh. At least Kelsi got to sing.

No offense to the fans of HSM, but I completely agree with this statement. I actually sat down to watch some of it a few days ago just TRYING to give it a chance...but I couldn't even finish watching it because I thought it was so horrible. To me, the acting is pretty mediocre at best, the characters annoyed me greatly and I simply didn't like any of the songs. I honestly don't understand why this is so popular or why so many people love it because I just could NOT get into it! It's just not my cup of tea, I suppose.

The only reason I even watch the stuff is for the crappy acting. It makes me smile.

How do chicks find that Zac guy hot? He looks like a gay emo to me. The teen choice awards or whatever must be rigged 'cause HSM one awards. The acting is about as bads as the love scenes in AOTC & that's pretty bad.

Ha, I'm a chick, and I find him far from attractive (no offense if anyone here actually finds him hot, of course):P I don't really understand why some girls find him hot either. Maybe it's just me but...he's just not my type, I guess.

I haven't seen it, but the hype baffles me. Since when did anyone give a flip about Disney Channel "original movies", and why did HSM change that? Why is a DISNEY CHANNEL TV MOVIE getting into People Magazine? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND.

I don't find him attractive, either. But then I'm not in the targeted age range. But even in the "little brother kinda' cute", I just don't feel any attraction to him. It's probably all this hype about the movie that is causing some teen girls to be, for lack of a better term, brainwashed into liking him and thinking he's "hot". If they really made up their own minds about him, I doubt he'd be as popular.

I don't think he's that bad looking, though. However, the acting.... yeah, the acting leaves something to be desired. :P

It baffles me too. The songs are almost as annoying as the Naked F***** Band Naked Brothers Band.

Zac Efron looks like a man dipped in plastic, coated with artifical tan, and then repainted to attempt to pass a normal human. Too bad it was such a terrible paint job.

It's the biggest thing with the girls in my school...but I don't get it. They hate me for not liking it, however.

I think that's kind of a shallow reason to dislike someone. It happened, Disney is moving past this incident and I bet she is as well. Nothing you can do to change the incident, and ripping on her won't change it either.

I remember 2 or 3 American idols got into similar problems when their "news" hit the fan. I don't approve of what they did but I refuse to despise them over for it. (Btw, I heard the photo found of her was NOT on a website like a porn one. So then I'd like to know WHO posted it up if it wasn't already on a site?).

I'm in the same boat as everyone else here, I don't understand the deal how something so shallow blew up into something so big. And guess what, in 2008 it's coming back with High School Musical 3!

What happened?

Funny thing when I was at Magic Kingdom earlier this year after Space Mountain was over it leads you to an arcade/shop they had a whole section to HSM.

The main girl of HSM (I don't know her name character or RL wise) apparently took a nude photo (or photos) of herself or someone else did, and somehow they ended up being posted on the web. Disney was upset because HSM is big right now and being a family company, it could hurt their social image.

Here's the thing, the photos were not found on a porn site like part of the site's stuff. This photo was taken by a PERSONAL person and posted up which means whoever took the photo took it knowing it was never to be posted up.

Which means it's probably a jealous friend or an ex-boyfriend or something. She didn't put the photo up herself and she never did it for a website, porn company, or anything like that. Someone put the photo up personally.

That's why I'm not ripping on her because it seems to me this photo was taken in confidence from a friend or someone close, and while it's not the smartest thing to do in the world, she didn't put the photo up herself and didn't ever intend for them to hurt or harm anyone.

Hmmm....'Kay.

Yeah, Disney was going to fire her and replace her with one of the Cheatah Girls, but they decided not to and are back on Vanessa's side. I kind of feel sorry for her that it happened, but it could have been prevented.

It could have been prevented if she just would have said no. Now she's got an Encyclopedia Dramatica article.

I'm sorry, but we don't need a 3. I think this entire thing is a drain on American culture. HSM is one of the few musical acts that can fill whole stadiums in Latin American countries. An achievement usually reserved for acts like U2 and the Rolling Stones. It's not even pop, it's spin a buck quick tunes for mass consumption. The only saving grace is the anyone can learn choreography.

I don't mind the movies, in fact, I'm glad Disney finally made something profitable that was original and not ripped off their previous movies, cartoon shows, or generic DVD sequels or anything like that. High School Musical is something they made that turned out better then expected.

I never saw it so I can't honestly say I hate it without seeing it first. Either way, I commend them for making something fresh that works, aside from Kim Possible I didn't think Disney could make something original and successful at the same time. I'm sorry but I really can't hate them for making some original that works.
