Favorite Disney Song (s)
Pink Elephants on Parade-Back when I was at least 6 or 7, I was quite afraid of how this song was portrayed. Strangely enough, I find it entertaining now, mainly of the music, the animation and the beat that was present.
I Wanna Be Like You-One of two favorite songs from the Jungle Book, it had the sensational feel of jazz in it, and with King Louie singing the song, I just had to listen to it, again and again, just to hear that beat. Bear Necessities-Another favorite song from the Jungle Book, this one gives out a happy and joyful sensation, and the singing from both Baloo and Mowgli makes this song very memorable. |
I have way too many favorite Disney songs, lol. I really love "Candle on the Water" from Pete's Dragon. I used to listen to that song while I fell asleep when I was a baby. It's such a relaxing song.
Then there's "Everybody's got a laughing place" from Song of the South. I love how it's so bouncy and catchy. Fun song.:D I love EVERY song from Alice in Wonderland. I don't think I can even pick a favorite there. Agh, this too too hard for me. xD I love Disney songs from the movies to the tv shows to the theme park music. 8-) Yup, love it all. :D |
OMG. Last night I was remembering my time spent on a Disney-themed rpg years ago, and it was common for people to ask you on there what your favorite Disney song is, so I already know the answer to this.
It's "I Wanna Be Like You." Hands down. |
This is Halloween, dude. Yeah.
It's also in a tie with just about evey song from Lion King. Ohsnap. |
Hey look, another Nightmare fan!:D
My favorite is Jack's Lament, though it's really hard for me to pick a faviorite Disney song. Runner up has to be Beauty and The Beast. |
Yikes so many to choose from, so I'll just rattle off a few of my favorites and provide links to the Youtube videos of said songs.
You Got a Friend in Me. Movie(s): Toy Story (1995) Toy Story 2 (1999) I always did particularly like this upbeat little number from Mr. Randy Newman. A nice little song about the meaning of friendship and all of that jazz. Arabian Nights One Jump Ahead Friend Like Me Movie: Aladdin (1992) 3 shining examples from what I consider to be one of the best soundtracks in any film that Disney has ever made, animated or live action. Circle of Life Movie: The Lion King (1994) The Three words that best describe both the song and the animated sequence it plays over...beautiful...beautiful and beautiful! |
The Monsters, Inc. song. I can't remember it right now.
Hakuna Mattata |
Oh, gosh...I need to think for a moment. 8D
I want to name something I really like that hasn't been mentioned. A lot of the songs mentioned here, I really enjoy. Believe it or not, I loved the soundtrack to Pocahontas (even though I wasn't big on the movie itself), including "Colors of the Wind." I also loved "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" from Song of the South. I used to sing a bit of the latter tune as a child. |
Well, I'm more of a Mickey Mouse fan, so my favourite Disney song would have to be 'Minnie's Yoo Hoo'. Very catchy.
As well as Friend In Me, I also like When She Loved Me (Toy Story 2). My favourite moment from that movie. Beautiful song, should've won the Oscar instead of Phil Collins. I've uploaded a video of the song if you want to be reminded: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Is_hpHzEMiE |
Hmm... I really need to think this one over but I do love the songs from Nightmare Before Christmas and the Lion King. Does the Theme song from the Pirates movies count?
|
As great as a lot of the Disney movie songs are, there was also the awesomeriffic theme songs that were used for most of their Weekday afternoon/Saturday morning cartoon series'
Because after all Life is like a hurricane caught in a tailspin while getting dangerous here there and everywhere! 8D |

I'd say that my two favourite Disney Songs are 'Sally's Song' and 'This is Halloween'. Sally's song because... It's fun to sing in the shower, and This Is Halloween because it is also very catchy, but the way it is portrayed with the animaton in the film is just... Wow! |

Brings back good memories. |
to cut it short any song from TNBC
and the lion king |
Disney songs are definitely a guilty pleasure for me...the 'Lion King' soundtrack is definitely one that you don't forget. However, as far as liking songs go, for me it's a tie between 'If I Didn't Have You' from Monsters Inc and 'Real Gone' from Cars.

Hooray, Disney!
Yay, other Disney fans!! :D My word, I have waaayyyy too many favorites, but I'll list the ones on the top of my head....
"Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty "The Electrical Light Parade" from Disneyland's Electrical Light Parade in the '80s and '90s "It's a Small World" from the Disneyland Ride. "Candle on the Water" from Pete's Dragon "Circle of Life" from Lion King "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid "You can Fly, You can Fly, You can Fly" from Peter Pan "Reflection" from Mulan aaannndddd.... there's more, but I think I've listed too many already. 8D |
Hmmm, I don't know if this counts, but I like all the different versions of the Jazzy Incredibles theme, most of which can be heard in the credits.
|
Not sure if it's my favourite exactly, but one Disney song which did make quite an impression on me was "Hellfire" from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I suppose in part because it went completely over my head when I saw it on the big screen as a kid, but when I revisited it several years later I found the blatant implications of Frollo's words to be...eye-opening; not typical Disney territory at all. But it's really not the lyrics that make it so alluring - it's Tony Jay, who turns in a truly powerful performance as the vocals of the twisted old law enforcer. He was easily the most effective thing about the film as a whole.
|
Man, I have a ton of favs! Here are a couple:
- Beauty and the Beast - Pretty much anything from The Lion King - Reflection (Mulan) - Pretty much all the songs from The Huchback of Notre Dame. I sang these in choir in the eighth grade and that's what got me into the music. Like I said, I have too many to list! |
Hmm, let's see here....
You're Only Second Rate - Aladdin 2 I'll Make a Man Out of You - Mulan This is Halloween - The Nightmare Before Christmas Poor Jack - The Nightmare Before Christmas Prince Ali - Aladdin Hakuna Matata - Lion King Be Prepared - Lion King Supercalifragilistx... - Mary Poppins (You know the word....I can't spell it....) Why Should I Worry? - Oliver and Company Colonel Hahiti's March - The Jungle Book Ugh, too many to list really..... |
Uhh just curious but...
Is Nightmare before Christmas considered a Disney movie? I know touchstone is owned by Disney and they advertise the Nightmare products but I don't think Disney ever publicly considered was of their films. |

So if Disney didn't want to admit it's their film, they never would have allowed Square-Enix to put it in Kingdom Hearts with their more well known properties. |
Quote:
I'd say so, if you see the 3D version of it they removed the Touchstone logo's from it and replaced them with Disney ones. Anywho, fav Disney songs.... Anything from TNMBC (especially "Jack's Lament") "One Of Us" and "My lullaby" from Lion King 2: Simba's Pride |
Okay, just wanted to be clear. My favorite Disney songs are as followed (be warned I got a lot ;):
Tarzan - "Strangers like me", "You'll be in my heart" Lion king 2 - "We are one" Lion King - "Can you feel the love tonight", "Be prepared" The little mermaid - "part of your world" Aladdin - "Whole new world" And virtually every song from "Nightmare before Christmas" and "The Hunchback of Notre dame". The villains of Disney have some AMAZING songs, I totally agree with what was said earlier about Frollo from Hunchback, his Hellfire song was incredible and Tony Jay gave a brilliant performance. Only other villain song I think measured up to that was Jeremy Irons as Scar from Lion King, who I think is the greatest Disney villain ever created. His "be prepared" song was beyond sweet. |
Goodness I have so many.
You'll Be In My Heart-Tarzan Circle of Life-The Lion King A Whole New World-Aladdin It's A Small World Colours Of The Wind-Pocahontas Can You Feel The Love Tonight-The Lion King Kiss The Girl-The Little Mermaid You've Got A Friend In Me-Toy Story I Won't Say I'm In Love-Hercules Strangers Like Me-Tarzan I think that's all of them. |
