Terrence

It just occurred to me that no one's restarted the thread for Mac's beloved older brother. :P

I like Terrence. Sure, he's a bully and a jerk, but it's hard to hate anyone that stupid. Besides, he can't be all that bad; after all, he did create Red. ;D

Voxxyn 08-23-2006 09:11 AM

Compared to some of the other antagonist characters, Terrance is quite tolerable. And he's really funny too.

lucyrocks73 08-23-2006 10:21 AM

Terrence cracks me up, and I have to say that he is one of my fave characters. And this is from someone who pretty much... well, treated him like crap in fanfics...

He's got that idiotic bully thing, yet he's humorous.

He reminds me a lot of Francis on FOP, except I think that all the Francis jokes are kind of stupid, and Terrence cracks me up.

If there's a character that should be on the show more, it's Terrence.

Fomalhaut 08-23-2006 10:25 AM

Terrence is my absolute fave forever. Can't let him go. :)

ch3353-h4xx0rrrr 08-23-2006 03:19 PM

Terrence = Super Cool.

I have his plad shirt. Well, kinda. It's more fit for a female figure, if ya know what I mean, but it's basically Terrence's plad shirt. :D

Sparky 08-23-2006 03:34 PM

I still gotta make that Terrence rag doll... ;)

Imaginary Light 08-23-2006 04:54 PM

Terrence is hilarious. Yeah, he's a jerk. But he's a funny jerk. A funny, stupid jerk:P

I'd love to see something like that. :)

Mac 08-23-2006 07:49 PM

I've only seen one episode with him in it and I didn't exactly take to him. I guess I have to see more. I actually had no idea he was Mac's brother until I read a few posts on the old forum.

One Radical Dude 08-23-2006 08:03 PM

I'm kinda "meh" on Terrence, but I did enjoy some of the more recent appearances from him. :)

billytheskink 08-23-2006 09:24 PM

He's an entertaining antagonist, when used correctly (as he usually is).

The writters have it right not making him an every episode character, I think. You can't create too much conflict on the show.

Sparky 08-23-2006 09:40 PM

Agreed. Favorite character or not, I'm glad he's not in too many episodes.

TraverseTown 08-23-2006 10:25 PM

Terrence had me in "Duchess of Wails". That was just pure laughs!...Wait, what?

Kzinistzerg 08-24-2006 10:05 AM

I thought he was great in... uh... Berry Scary (That's the one with the tv show everyone was watching in the beginning, right?)

InsaneFan 08-24-2006 11:10 AM

XD Yes. "Uh, I was channel stuck!"

I know!! Hearing him tease Mac about moving to "Zingapore, Wisconsin" was hilarious!

Kzinistzerg 09-20-2006 11:09 AM

Yeah, his stupidity is a great part of any episode he's in. Trust me, it's worse when they're smart, though.

Terrance starting off the whole "Two Towers" reference that ran for (if I remember correctly) nearly the rest of the episode was brilliance.

As for Terrence himself, I love him. He's not one of my favorite characters, but I've always had this sort of soft-spot for him. I still think his shining moment was his interactions in "Infernal Slumber", if just for the fact that he lifts six people (including Eduardo) off of him. I mean, I know he's a seemingly atheletic kid, but daaang.....

I think that was just addrenalene.

Kzinistzerg 11-03-2006 05:41 PM

... But... Eduardo, too? Eduardo is HUGE. Eduardo can lift the fosters bus and wave it around like a flag.

How exactly does terrence do that?

Sparky 11-03-2006 08:02 PM

Well at least Terrence has SOME sort of talent or skill! I was pretty sure the show would never give him any sort of credit. Not that the show will probably ever mention it again but still.

Exactly. I mean, I know it was just a sight gag and all, but something about that scene just still made me go WHOA! That would have to be some adrenaline rush, is all I'm saying........

There have been verified reports of people lifting HORSES in moments of immense adrenalin rushes, to remove them from burning stables. Horses are notoriously dumb when it comes to fire and getting one out of a blazing structure, unhurt, can be a real challenge. A full-grown horse usually weighs at least half a ton. Not too many years ago, a man in the town where I work came upon the scene of a recent highway accident, in which a woman had been thrown from her large SUV and it had rolled over on her, pinning her. Eyewitnesses said that this man ran up and actually lifted the SUV off of the woman's body and rolled it back upright, singlehandedly! He is not a body builder or anything, just an ordinary middle-aged guy. Sadly, his efforts were in vain, as the woman had already died, but it was incredible what he did, thanks to that little stress hormone.

There is a lot of evidence that Terrence is a very athletic kid, though, and I keep hoping we will get to see more of this, in a more positive way. He's got football and baseball equipment in his room, and there's that photo in the living room of him up at bat. I get the impression, though, that Terrence probably does not play sports anymore, and most likely his mom's schedule has a lot to do with it. He has no one to go to games or to support him in such efforts, so why bother? He's wasting the one big talent he DOES have because of that.

Terrance is a good character, and he is voiced by the famous Tara Strong. He cracks me up.

DGenerationX 11-12-2006 09:41 AM

?

Terrance.....still don't get him

heartless95 11-12-2006 01:11 PM

He`s not my favorite human but he`s ok.To me he`s basically kinda...blah

Jabberwocky 11-15-2006 12:10 PM

I'd like Terrence if he weren't so weird looking. Mean doofus characters are fun. He reminds me of Sid from Toy Story. "That happy child??" Haha.

mistermoze 11-15-2006 12:40 PM

Terrence is not the brightest crayon in the box, but Red was his best invention (?) ever!

Cassini90125 11-15-2006 12:42 PM

Alas for the pizza friend and his unfulfilled potential... :'(

Kzinistzerg 11-15-2006 03:13 PM

Yes, that was sad. By the way, it is canbalism if you eat an imaginary friend?

mistermoze, your avatar rocks.

Nathander 11-15-2006 06:17 PM

You know, I remember the canabilism question being raised before, and that really disturbs me because I honestly don't know how to answer. I mean, how would he have been treated if someone caught him? Would people not care and let it pass, seeing as how it "was just an IF", or could he have actually faced some penalty for it? While I'm sure we'll never really get it, I would like it if they'd clarify the rights of IFs in the show, though from what we can tell they don't seem to have very many.

And for what it's worth, I think I need to mention that Terrence at the pizza friend out of pure hunger and reaction, not any actual malice. He still took a life, but...........yeah, I can't really think of any defense. :(

Cassini90125 11-15-2006 06:20 PM

Cannibalism is the consumption of one's own species. Terrence ate an IF, not a human, so he's not a cannibal. Just a killer. :P

Nathander 11-15-2006 06:26 PM

Eh, true. Curse my occasionally poor grasp of grammar. 8D

koosie 11-17-2006 07:36 AM

You know my older brother looked exactly like Terrance in the late 80s, I must dig up some pictures without him finding out.

Sorry ladies, he's already taken !

Do YouKnow He's Played By A Girl?

I believe the majority of people in here knew that. Tara Strong is quite the talent there.

Eh, Terrence was hungry. It was pizza. The pizza looked good. Terrence ate it. It tasted good. End of story.

True. But the fact that said pizza was alive and screaming in pain at the time of consumption makes it profoundly more disturbing.
