Anna Nicole Smith Dead at 39
Anna Nicole Smith, the pneumatic blonde whose life played out as an extraordinary tabloid tale ? jeans model, Playboy centerfold, widow of an octogenarian oil tycoon, reality-show subject, tragic mother ? died Thursday after collapsing at a hotel. She was 39.
She was stricken while staying at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and was rushed to a hospital. Edwina Johnson, chief investigator for the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office, said the cause of death was under investigation and an autopsy would be done on Friday. |
:( R.I.P.
At least she'll be reunited with her son. |
Holy whoa! I'm speechless. I honestly don't know what to think.

RIP, Anna.
|
RIP Anna. I can't BELIEVE this. Poor Howard Stern!! Poor GUY :'(
|
That caught me off guard. Wow.
|
I seen the news when I came home. We will all miss Anna Nicole Smith. She was a great superstar. R.I.P. Anna.:(

Quite unexpected indeed.
|
sudden but not really that unexpected. Come on people, five bucks says OD.
|
It's a suspected drug oversdose and I am NOT surprised. Women like Nicole set terrible and disgusting examples of what can happen to a woman in the limelight. I can't even begin to imagine what her daughter will think of her once she's old enough to know the troubles her mother had in life, most of which can not even be mentioned in this forum.
Honestly, she always disgusted me. And I'm not even sad to know she's now dead. It makes me an awful person, but that's how I feel. |

You know, like her or not have some freaking respect for the dead. Her daughter's not going to have a mom now, her husband's heartbroken, and the only thing good to come out of this is that now she's with her son. It's devastating to lose a son, in the limelight or not, and she was DESTROYED when he died. That couldn't have been good for her health. If it was an OD, then it's a horrid way to die. Seriously. I didn't like her, never thought that she was all that, but I still don't go and bash the poor woman after she died. |
Sorry, but I'm with CG on this one. It's sad that she died, I suppose, but I really never regarded her as much more than a parasite. I won't miss her, and I fail to see why I should show her any more respect in death than I did in life.

I saw this the second it broke, I really liked follwing her... She was nice.
|
I saw this earlier, when I was checking my email. Wow, I definitely didn't see that coming at all. I didn't care for her at all, but dang.
|
I agree: I was never a fan or especially cared for the woman all that much, but it's sad to see anyone die (or, at least, usually is), especially so unexpectedly. However, hopscotch, I agree with Cass and CG: they're under no obligation to show her more respect now then they did when she was alive, and they don't really seem to be insulting her anyway by just stating how they feel.
Still, she had a rough year, and I DO feel bad about that. At least now maybe she can find some peace. |
Me 5 minutes ago: O hay let's see what people have been up to on Never Forgotten BZUH?!?!
Holy crap! I didn't see that coming at all. It's really tragic that she followed in her son's footsteps and (probably) OD'd like that. But I feel worst for her daughter -- she's going to grow up without a mom, and they don't even know who her dad is yet. That's going to get complicated. |
Mmmmm, true. They are allowed to hate her if they wish. I just hate to see the dead mocked in any way, no matter who they were (with the obvious exception of horrible cruel people like Hitler and the like).
I dunno, I take death very seriously, no matter who it is. I have nothing but the highest respect for the dead. |
I do feel bad that she is gone but compassion for a lost life does not exactly translate into liking the person. She did some very obvious and crappy things in her life and her death doesn't in anyway change the darkness of her deeds.
Anna wasn't a monster but she did do crummy things and I still have a hard time forgiving her all things considering. I guess the thing that really shocked me about this was just the rapid approach of it, how it really came out of no where. After her son's death and then recently having a baby, not to mention being all over access Hollywood yesterday from interviews and now being put on the same show about her death, it's very fast and very "all of the sudden". I wish Anna Nicole Smith peace in death as I wish anyone, be it a honest soul or a less then honest soul. But I honestly have to say that I did not really care for her as a person, I don't hate her but she wasn't my favorite person in the world either. |

Personally, I thought Anna Nicole was a kook, and way out there - they should donate her body to science fiction!:bloocross:
I feel sorry for her daughter:'( |
I wasn't a fan, but this came straight outta left field. Huh. Maybe she was missing her son and wanted to die? It was probably an OD, she was too young to die of natural causes.
|
Wow. I mean, I knew of her, but I was surprised that she was dead. Wow.
However, I highly doubt that people will be writing RIP ANNA NICOLE SMITH on their backpacks/planners/book covers, unlike Steve Irwin. I'm guilty of having "Steve Irwin:1962-2006" written on a sticker on my flute case. But only because we found out he died on the day of my first football game this year. -Marty :goo: |
I know it sounds mean but I actually felt a whole lot crummier when Steve Irwin died rather then with Anna Nicole Smith died. Irwin was a very loving, energetic, and passionate man, he died doing what he loved and I doubt he'd want it any other way.
What bothered me was his death was a freak accident, a million to one long shot that sadly took his life. Smith I think they said died of drug overdose which always upsets me because I hate how celebrities poison themselves to death just to relieve stress. Drugs keep killing more and more people, greats like John Belushi and Chris Farley were both lost to drugs and it sickens me that people STILL do them. |
well...now that her brother and mother (both creeps) are dead, perhaps this little girl will be able to grow up to be something important, like the doctor who cures cancer or solves the crisis in the Middle East as oppossed to the spoiled daughter of a shallow waste of silicon. Brutal but true.
|
Smith wasn't exactly the model citizen. Her life was a mess and some of the things she did were pretty dirty and downright shameful. I am sorry to say, but the death of a person like her does not instigate any sorrow in me. I do, however, feel terrible for her kid.

However, it is still sad to hear of people passing away. It's a shame that she didn't turn her life around for the better while she still had the chance. She may have had all of that money, but was it really worth all of the things she did to other people and to herself? I do feel sorry for her child, though. |
