A farewell for my furry angel :'(

Today at 4:40 pm, January 29th, 2007. My 13 year old dog, Kinzie, of 11 years we have had.....died today. She was put to sleep after we discovered a brain legion in her head. She was at home with me and my parents and my brother and sister when she died.

:'( I've never cried so hard in my life. She was the sweetest dog I've ever known, and I miss her so badly. I just wanted to let you guys know because I know if any of your family members died, you'd want to tell your friends, and to me, Kinzie WAS the heart of our family and always will be.

taranchula 01-30-2007 09:00 AM

Yeah having to put down a pet for any reason is often one of the most difficult and heart wrenching experiences there is, sorry about your loss.

Fomalhaut 01-30-2007 10:09 AM

Good-bye, Kinzie, and once in heaven, don't forget your loving family! :(

She was cute.

Imaginary Light 01-30-2007 11:56 AM

:(

I have tears in my eyes as I write this. I'm so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful dog too. I know it's really hard, but she's in a better place now.

Nyo 01-30-2007 01:13 PM

*deep breath*

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I can't believe your dog died. You have my respects to Kinzie.

pitbulllady 01-30-2007 04:19 PM

Sorry to hear that! I've had to make that decision so many times over the years, but it never does get any easier. It's really a blessing when an old pet just passes quietly in its sleep, like my 12-year-old Catahoula, "Hannah", did a couple of years ago. It's still painful, and it's a shock, but it saves them from suffering and the owner from having to make that awful decision.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I've lost a few pets myself in the last few years and I know how it feels. You hang in there, pal.

Mr. Marshmallow 01-30-2007 07:03 PM

It's hard, no doubt about that. I was blessed to have spent a day with my Kinzie, let alone 11 and a half years of her. She was a loving, family dog, a dog that I saw as a family member and never a pet. She meant that much to me.

I am happy she isn't in anymore suffering and even more happy to know that we are allowing her to pass on with dignity through a proper, and professional animal burial, casket, headstone etc......It's just hard hearing the house be so quiet.

But thank you all for your support, and I apologize if I drudged up any bad memories of your lost beloved pets. This is a pain I've never felt before and I appreciate your concern .

I'm sorry about your pet. I know how it feels to lose someone on your family. Your dog is in a better place now. Nowadays I see dead dogs and cats around the roadways, mostly because these cats and dogs often go into the road at night and they seem to get ran over by cars. It happens often in the desert.

koosie 01-31-2007 06:27 AM

Aw crap. I'm real sorry. Kinzie looked like a real sweet dog and there's no friendlier friend than that. Grief is a horrible thing that makes you feel terribly empty and alone buts it's a burden we all share and in that we need not be alone.

HappyFoppy 01-31-2007 10:27 AM

How sad for you... You really have my sympathy. :'(

Medikor 01-31-2007 11:14 AM

I know how you feel, Mr.Marshmallow. It's never easy to lose a four-legged member of the family. I went through the same thing when my bassett hound, Cinnamon had to be put down.
Try to cheer yourself up by knowing that you gave your (very lovely) dog the best life you could. Remember all the good times you had and take comfort in the fact that, Kinzie couldant have had a better family than the one you made her a part of.

fosters home fan 01-31-2007 03:24 PM

That's really sad:( Rest in Peace Kinzie. I've also had a pet die once.

Wendi 01-31-2007 04:05 PM

aww... I'm so sorry about that D: *INTERNET HUG* What a cute dog, too. :<

My dog died in October. He was almost 17! I cried a lot too.

Feel better :]

Knowing Kinzie the way I did, I understand that more then you can imagine. Pets are family and more then just animals if you ask me.

lucyrocks73 02-09-2007 12:43 PM

I'm very, very sorry for your loss. As I'm typing this, I'm cuddling with my own little dog, Chicken (he's a Jack Russel Terrier, and I love him very much).
