Billy and Mandy

Hey does anybody watch TGAOBAM

It is a very great show to me

montitech 12-13-2006 07:20 PM

I like it,
My Toddler likes it
My wife Hates it.

Howard 12-13-2006 07:22 PM

While it will never outdo Foster's, Billy and Mandy is my next fav show!

Mr. Marshmallow 12-13-2006 07:26 PM

I occasionally watch the show if I am really bored, to be honest it's not high on my list. Billy and Mandy have their moments but at times they can feel reptitive, especially Mandy. There are only two things I really like on the show, and there both voice actors.

Billy's VA and Grim's VA. I've said this before about Grim, I can't think of a funnier and more original voice for a grim reaper then a Jamacian sounding Darth Vader. Billy annoys me at times but I cannot resist the amazing talent his VA gives when he says Billy's lines.

His laughs, his weird giggles, he just really sells this stuff. I particuarly like when he repeatively said yahyahayhayhaha really fast and when he started repeating "DESTROY US ALL" from the clown episode for like 10 minutes straight, that was just funny as hell.

Voxxyn 12-13-2006 08:43 PM

It has some great moments, but there's just too much disgusting crude humor for me to bother putting up with. :(

scary_dream 12-13-2006 10:24 PM

I agree with Mr. Marshmallow, Grim and Billy's voice actors really take the cake! As for the show in its entirety, IDK... it's got some pretty humorous references and spoofs, but besides that, I don't really think it's that great.

koosie 12-14-2006 05:02 AM

It may not be nice or cute or lovable or anything other than sick and twisted but I love this show. There are episodes as funny as anything I've seen (Keeper of the reaper/fear and loathing in endsville) and theres certainly a lot of Dexters in it like there is in Fosters.

I couldn't believe it when I found out the voice of Mandy is also Frankie! The way she can even sing in Mandy's bland dead voice is just incredible. Very gifted lady.

To be frank I always thought this show was brave. I always thought the imagry of personified death with a scythe is still somehow deeply horrifying (it seems to have originated at the time of the black death in europe) despite the attempts of this show and author Terry Pratchett to make him sympathetic. It's one of the last big taboos despite the fact it's all around us all the time and the only reason any of us are alive is because many millions of other things have died before us. Those guys are right, death is just part of the process of living. It's the remembering and missing that's hard.

Sorry I seem to have gone all heavy. See what can happen? Think about Fred Fredburger. That's better.................

Howard 12-14-2006 07:30 AM

My favorite episode was called "Duck." It was a little purple duck with a WW I German helmet; only Billy could see him, and when the duck gave raspberries, everyone around Billy thought he was farting! The first time I saw this, I laughed to tears.

Sometimes the show cna be disgusting but thats what makes it good

Sometimes I like to sink to that level of humor - that is why I watch Drawn Together as well!8D

Mr. Marshmallow 12-14-2006 02:12 PM

"Drawn Together" is NOTHING like Billy and Mandy, there not even remotely in the same category or general area. Drawn is probably the most offensive show I have ever seen in my life: racism, sexism, homophobia, stereotyping, swearing, sexual imagery, violence, drug references.

Billy and Mandy isn't even in the ballpark of how crude, disgusting and down right offensively hilarious Drawn Together is.

I know that. But sometimes I like to go into the really twisted. My sense of humor ranges from slapstick (silent movies), to the extreme (Drawn Together). I am an ecclectic person, so my humor can swing from clean to extreme!

Mr. Marshmallow 12-14-2006 06:28 PM

Don't feel bad, I'm EXACTLY the same way.

My feelings for comedy can be as complicated as sophisticated humor like in "Boston Legal", crude swearing like in "Drawn" or even kid based humor like in "Foster's".

I'm a man of many tastes and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm the same way with music, one hand I listen to Rob Zombie and Soilwork, heavy metal music, then the next I listen to pop stuff like Westlife and Faith hill.

That's something a lot of us here have in common, I think, and yeah, it's definitely a good thing. :)

RAGGLE FRAGGLE.

This post has been brought to you by the letter B, for boredom.

One Radical Dude 12-14-2006 08:55 PM

Yeah, it is a bit crude, but I do like the show to some degree. There are many characters I like in the show, and it does have its moments.

"C" the Dragon 12-15-2006 05:29 PM

Mmmph, yeah. It's pretty crude, but I like it, anyways.

LOL!8D Me like!

Medikor 12-16-2006 08:51 AM

I only really watched the show to kill 30 minuits while waiting for another but it's really grown on me. Mandy is definetly my favorite character. She's cute in a way. I really liked the episode when she showed some of the human side and was asking Grim and Billy if she was pretty. And she's voiced by Grey Delisle so thats a win for me.:D
The show can be on the crude side, but I find its nostalgic in a way. It reminds me of Ren & Stimpy or Roccos Modern Life. But the show has plenty of whit and intellagance to it. But I do miss the adventures of Evil. Actually, I remember that I first seen the show as "Grim & Evil" not "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy", so it's always fun to see Scarr show up.
I'm a big fan of intellagent humor like Frasier but I still like to enjoy the more senceless shows out there. Space Ghost Coast To Coast is one of my favorites. 8D

Yeah that episode was awesome, especially the last act, which featured a reference to Frank Herbert's DUNE, Mandy's awesome rendition of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", and a perfect parody of The Power Puff Girls.

Medikor 12-17-2006 04:58 AM

If you like Mandy's singing then you would love the episode "Billy and Mandy Save Christmas". Mandy sings at such a fast clip and so out of character that you cant help but laugh!8D And she actually acts cute too. And you havent lived untill you've heard Gilbert Gotfreid's Santa Clause!8D

Yeah! Santa sounds just like Yago from "Aladin"!8D :D And his voice annoys my mom!

Billy and Mandy isn't even in the ballpark of how crude, disgusting and down right offensively hilarious Drawn Together is.

Then you haven't seen "Da Ali G Show" or as you may know it the show that spond up the movie "Borat".

Ricky Fieldmouse 12-17-2006 10:43 AM

This is my 3rd favorite show on CN. (1st being Foster's and 2nd being Camp Lazlo.) My mom doesn't like it that much though. >>

Fred Fredburger = The true mascot for CN.

Mr. Marshmallow 12-17-2006 10:50 AM

I never got into Lazlo either, that show really just didn't do anything for me. I can tolerate Billy and Mandy for a bit but I wouldn't call it one of my fav. CN shows. Most of my favorite shows on CN are already dead and cancelled.

Teen Titans, Puffy Ami Yumi, Justice League: Unlimited, and Perfect Hair forever (yes I know that's adult swim but you get my point :P). Anyways currently I only love two shows on CN, Fosters of course and the other's Ben 10.

I know my brother thinks I'm stupid for watching Ben 10, even though I admit at times it does feel more kiddish then it should be. But then at the same time, the show turns around and ends up being one of the most creative series I've seen in a long time.

The grim adventures of Billy and Mandy

Ok this is a thread for the show (Billy and Mandy) Its on Cartoon network (same channel as fosters home) And I love the show so much its so funny My favorite part is hen Mandy beats the crap outta Billy and he like goes crazy and says funny stuff Does anyone watch this show? Oh yeah did anyone see Wrath of the spider queen it was on like 7 times so i bet you saw it? :)8D8-):terrconf::scaryberry:

ptps 07-10-2007 05:59 AM

I haven't watched it, mainly because the character designs really turn me off (I realy, really hate Billy's nose thing, and how it's always been parodied by other CN characters by sticking their fingers in the nostrils) and the advertisements I've seen for it (Grossball, some of the CN bumpers) really don't help. It sounds like the regular sister brother sibling rivalry with grossness thrown in. Someone prove me wrong? :(

taranchula 07-10-2007 08:15 AM

Mod Note: There was a Billy and Mandy thread already, so I merged the new thread with the old thread. (Remember, "The Search Forums", option is your friend.) :D

Anyways back on topic, for anyone who is a big fan of the show and is going to Comic Con 2007 there will be a TGAOBAM panel on The morning of Friday July 27

Quote:

11:45-1:15 The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy: The Final Goodbye?Join Maxwell Atoms (creator) and the cast of the show to bid a fond farewell to everyone?s favorite reaper. Room 6B
I myself am a casual fan of the show, as I find it amusing in small doses but nothing to get all rabid over, though if there is time I may go to the panel just to see three of my favorite voice actors: Greg, Grey and Richard.

Lynnie 07-10-2007 10:31 AM

I may not be the biggest fan of the show, but I like it ok. It can be really funny. Grim and Mandy are my favorite characters. And I thought Fred Fredburger was funny too.

Anyway, looks like this may be where Grey is suppose to make an appearance at Comic Con. Ya' think? :yeah:

antgirl1 07-10-2007 10:43 AM

Wow, it's actually ending? HORAY. How that show got a Y-7 rating I have no idea, there's violence, sexual references, and more. I cannot tolorate a show that has a ratig that SO doesn't fit the show. Pity. So CN automatically rates every show that comes on a Y-7...::)

Actually, "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" ended just a week ago.

Speaking of which, the finale itself should have ended with a good hurrah, instead of a grim conclusion (pun not intended)

Medikor 07-10-2007 03:36 PM

So the show is over? Hm... I had no idea it was ending. I'll have to hunt down the finale just to see if Mandy has any great ending moments.

frankie_fan 07-10-2007 07:23 PM

I'm a fan of the show, and Mandy is my favourite character on the show.

'Raggle Fraggle' has to be my favourite quote from that show. It's just so random, out of context, and just plain hilarious. 8D

1. It's Iago! 2. They're both voiced by Gilbert Gottfried.

Sparky 07-15-2007 09:44 PM

So "Spider Queen" was the series finale? I haven't caught it yet, don't tell me what happens. :P I just want to know if it was the finale.

FeDeReR 07-16-2007 05:18 AM

I watch it ! it isn't cool but it's nice !

LaBloo 07-17-2007 09:04 AM

"Wrath of the Spider Queen" is indeed the series finale for the show.

In fact, Cartoon Network stop producing episodes of the "Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" in April.
