I think this one ticks everyone off:

When you get a catchy yet annoyingly terrible cartoon theme tune stuck in your head ALL DAY. I woke up this morning with the theme tune to a stupid mouse cartoon which I'd fallen asleep watching last night stuck in my head. Gah!

Howard 02-14-2007 03:23 PM

I'll tell you what I hate:

When people want your opinion on a difficult decision - but they have already MADE it! Are they seeking approval, or forgiveness?:terrence:

Mr. Marshmallow 02-14-2007 09:31 PM

Here's something I hate on a DAILY basis:

When freaking Youtube jack asses remove videos or BAN users over stupid copyright issues. Give me a break, there's thousands of videos on there that break even bigger laws about stealing videos.

But no, they find people who post short ass clips of simple things like Monty Python's Black Knight, and Foster's short "Driving miss crazy" to be more illegal then people who post entire episodes of TV shows in split sections/parts.

I'm sick of Youtube removing my favorite videos or shorts because a copyright law says so. People become fans of half the TV shows they see clips from on Youtube, and sometimes like with music, you just want some parts to rewatch.

I've seen entire movies on Youtube. And not in several parts, either -- the whole things in their 90-some-minute entirety. And one of them stayed up for like two weeks! It's crazy.

That hasant really started to happen untill Google bought out Youtube, didant it? I cant blame them for wanting to avoid braking the law, but they should focus on the larger culprits. But it's difficult for them to find the stuff that SHOULD be removed because people upload them in code names of sorts making them that much harder to find and terminate.
I think what really ticks me off is when people talk about you behind your back, or worse, make things up about you behind your back.

Mr. Marshmallow 02-17-2007 07:50 PM

Actually Youtube started doing this before Google bought them out. I had an account on there under the name "Reaper969" and I had about over 250 videos uploaded on there, 99% of it all practically anime music videos I've found over the years and uploaded.

I got banned because for some VERY weird reason, Pokemon anime music videos violated copyright laws but apparently every other anime does not. I also got banned for posting a rare disney cartoon called "Runaway Brain". I understand copyright laws, but the thing is people aren't using this to make money.

It's just like with the Foster's shorts, you can't find those anywhere else and for them to be yanked off it only frustrates people even more because Youtube has become a haven for people to see new shows and new expierences. Shows like Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Aqua Teen get built on these promos.

Just having a few seconds worth of a clip can make a new fan out of someone and while I don't approve of the split movies and TV shows, I don't think stinking clips of things like clips from "boston legal" are bad enough to warrant banning. The fan movie "juggernaut b*tch" helped make youtube famous and THAT got yanked too.

Cassini90125 02-17-2007 07:56 PM

Believe it or not, the GWH ad and clip I posted on YT are still there, nearly four months after posting. Hard to believe they missed them in all that time.

Partymember 02-17-2007 09:25 PM

okay...the radio?

vannielou 02-18-2007 07:09 AM

the radio in my area sucks. almost all the stations are crap and they constantly have commercials, so it's more like we're listening to a commercial station instead of a music station.

Partymember 02-18-2007 08:23 PM

even NPR??? best station ever!

Sievers 02-19-2007 04:01 AM

what ticks me off,hmmmm?

my PC,oooooh yeah. I hate it,hate it, hate it.
this damn trashy thing. every day its getting even more worse. First the cooler got crashed, than the mainboard and now i think it's the cooler again thats got messed up.
Thats so stupid. i've paid much of money to get it running again and i think it's get mess up again.

Since i've got that machine it didn't work like i want but in the last years i've paid so much money for repairs. for that much money i could have bought me an new one :'(

Cassini90125 02-28-2007 07:24 AM

This really ticked me off:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/wrtv/20070227/lo_wrtv/11122828

I guess it really is true that society only values the pretty ones. :bloosad:

Howard 02-28-2007 07:29 AM

I do not know if I posted this one before, but here it goes:

I hate answering the phone, and the person on the other line asks, "who's this?" Why don't you TELL me! You are the one CALLING me!:frankiemad:

Jabberwocky 02-28-2007 08:38 AM

Are there other people who live with you? People who call here tend to ask who it is, cause my mother and I sound alike, and if it's one of my brother's friends on the phone I tend to make gurgling retarded noises and hang up.

Partymember 02-28-2007 12:24 PM

i tell them they've reached City Wok in a very un-PC chinese accent.

"herro, rercome to city Wok can i take your order prease?"

Sorry for the late response. Just my significant other lives with me, but we have separate phones. I am of the "old" phone etiquette - if you call me, identify yourself and state your business, or I will hang up on you.;)

Cassini90125 02-28-2007 03:16 PM

I like my approach better - if you call me, identify yourself and state your business, or I will play mind games with you. :bendy:

scary_dream 02-28-2007 09:26 PM

LOL Cassini. Nice.

Another thing that ticks me off... I hate those new banner ads that appear on SO many sites that require you to click on them to win a too-easy "game" that will end in you getting a free iPod/trip to Hawaii/free PS3. They're nothing but a hoax, not to mention they're STUPID. I don't feel like running from gorillas, shaving a woman's legs, plucking anyones nose hairs, or crawling through a tunnel.

Argghhhh...

Sorry, old pal.

Here's another thing that pisses me off: THE CRAPLOAD AMOUNT OF LAND BEFORE TIME MOVIES.

12. Friggin'. Movies. Is. Enough. Curse. You. Universal. Studios.

Howard 03-01-2007 12:55 PM

Another one:

People who think they know everything! They irritate those of us who DO!;)

SkittleMonkey 03-01-2007 01:17 PM

Ugh, my older brother is one of those people. Only, he doesn't think he knows everything. He just tries to act like he does!

Another thing that really, and I mean REALLY ticks me off is when you have an older sibling that's more well-known than you in certain areas, but everyone sees you equal amounts of time but never bother talking to you, so they don't even bother asking your name, so everyone calls you "So-and-so's sister/brother". I can't even COUNT how many times it happens to me!!! :terrence:

scary_dream 03-02-2007 08:35 PM

OH EM EFF GEE I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL SKITTLEMONKEY!! My sister was well-known at the high school I went to, not to mention she has an unusual name for a girl, and all the teachers were like "Ohhhhh you're Kevin's little sister!!!"

Curse mom and dad for giving my sister an interesting name and then giving me a boring one.

Mr. Marshmallow 03-02-2007 11:12 PM

Here's something that's been bothering me alot recently:

When someone who is supposed to be a CLOSE friend, says they will call you that day....and they don't....

Not once, not twice, but THREE times.

Now THAT :frankiemad: ticks me off.

BluebottleFlyer 03-03-2007 01:44 AM

Where should I start...
- tabloid newspapers/ITV News' sensationlisation of everything
- being stuck at work on a nice summer's day, then when you finally get a day off it pours
- racists, homophobes, hypocrites, fascists, the like. Why can't we all just get along? We're only human.
- people who get kicks out of hurting others, wheteher it's physically or verbally
- manufactured pop bands (especially boy and girl bands)
- reality TV
- music magazines constantly over-hyping bands/artists who actually really suck, and the good bands getting relegated to a small page corner somewhere
- egotists
- being under-appreciated (not trying to blow my own trumpet here, but I get that a lot)
- being made to do things that waste my time (anyone here from England will know what I mean when I say Jobcentre)

There's probably more, but I'll stop there.

Jabberwocky 03-03-2007 05:32 AM

I can't make myself burp! RAAAAGH! I never could! It's not fair!

Edit; ha, the name thing happened to all my friends last year. They were freshman wih a senior sister. Hi Mary's Little Sister! Hi Rachel's Little Sister! My brother will be a freshman when I graduate. Hiiiii Danny's Little Sister!

THAT'S RIGHT, HE'S A PANSY TULIP FROOFROO GIRL so shut up.

We shall always remember him as a shining example of what it truly means to be a useless idiot.

Equally useless is the dang crow that got me as I passed under him an hour ago. My hat is in the washer as I type this. Needless to say, I was more than a little ticked off when it happened. This is why I will never support any legislation that would outlaw BB guns. >:(

Sorry, had to laugh at that.8D

Anyhow...

Clinomorphisms tend to annoy me, as do most misconceptions surrounding mental health issues. One of the most common examples is when people casually equate the term 'schizophrenic' with having a split personality (which isn't actually the case). It hits much more of a personal nerve with me when people apply the term 'obsessive compulsive' to behaviour which qualifies, at best, as run-of-the-mill fussiness. Either that or they stereotype genuine OCD-sufferers as reclusive, detox-wielding Howard Hughes-type individuals who'll throw a major tantrum if you rearrange their soup cans out of alphabetical order. The result being that the true extent of the affliction gets trivialised and/or sensationalised. I blame such wildely-held misconceptions for it taking me so many years to even realise that what I had was a recognised and treatable disorder. :(

Also, as a vegetarian, I get ticked off by people who believe they can intimidate me simply by saying the word "meat". Oh, please...>:(

Jabberwocky 03-03-2007 02:23 PM

Worse yet, people who think it's cool to be schizophrenic or have OCD and offhandedly brag about having it when they don't, they just looked it up on webMD and decided they vaguely in a roundabout way exhibit the symptoms because after all they enjoy reading Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and other deeeemmmmented craaazy daaark weeeird things from Hot Topic. Oooh you like pictures to be symmetrical, hardxcore you wacky zany insane person you. I know a kid like that. He's the human equivalent of foot odor.

That happened to me once when I was like, 4 years old but I didn't have a hat on... I cried like the little girl I was!

*hugs Jabberwocky* Those people make me want to push them into heavy traffic! I cannot STAND people who treat a feigned mental illness as a pair of shoes to be shown off!! GRR!

A passing bird pooped on my MP3 player once. For reals.

And a big bakery-fresh WORD PIE to the "insane people" thing. People who flaunt how ~*~iNsAnE~*~ and ~*~rAnDoM~*~ they are give me a burning urge to stab things. Pretending to be mentally ill because you think it will make you cool and eccentric and full of personality makes you stupid. There will never be a time when this will not make you stupid. People with real disorders don't brag about having disorders, the whole point of randomness is that it's spontaneous, and isn't the whole point of being crazy that crazy people don't know they're crazy? I hate people.

Lol Kageri, you're awesome. Well said.

Sparky 03-03-2007 10:01 PM

I agree with kageri. Also people who casually flaunt being gay or bi (a lot of people claim to be bi when they really aren't, I guess because they can get away with never actually having to prove it, and they think it makes them more exotic or glamorous to say so). I can tell you, being any sexual orientation other than straight is pretty horrible. I know homosexuality is sometimes glamorised on screen, and I suppose nowadays there's a reasonable amount of public support for being homosexual - but actually BEING non-straight is a very alienating, soul-injuring experience. It isn't something "cool" to show off. There's a difference between being proud of and comfortable with what you are and being show-offy. If that makes sense. And that's probably as far as that argument should go, since we shouldn't exactly "discuss" sexuality here. But I was just saying, people who don't take sexuality seriously suck.

AerostarMonk 03-03-2007 10:26 PM

I hate it when people let their dogs go to the bathroom just anywhere and don't clean up. Especially when they do it in other people's yards. They try to act covertly and get away from the scene as quick as possible. It's just plain rude on so many levels.
I'm on kageri's train of people hate.

That really depends on whether what you have is a neurosis or a psychosis. Neurotic people tend to be more aware of the irrationality of their actions, but that doesn't make it any easier for them to live with it, and there's certainly no inclination to start bragging about it. When you really do have OCD, you go to utmost lengths to conceal your compulsions and/or the true motiviations behind them from other people. The last thing you want is to draw attention to yourself and be lectured about how unreasonable you're being. You're already jaded enough from trying to reason yourself out of this mindset to know that it isn't going to help you.

One thing that a lot of people don't get, when they describe something as commonplace as their desk-arranging habits as "obsessive compulsive", is that having OCD isn't a matter of exhibiting a few cute little quirks and eccentricities; it's a truly painful and arduous mental struggle against intrusive thoughts and images inside your mind.
