This morning, I finally got to watch the last four episodes of Wolf's Rain (I say finally because I've been renting the discs one by one through Lovefilm, and they've been sending me the series on a very intermittent basis...it's been over five months since I saw the previous lot, but that's partly because I had to freeze my account for a while). And wow...I've got to say that after following this series for so long I'm almost sorry to see it end, but I thought they handled the finale magnificently. I'd done enough background reading in advance to be expecting something fairly bleak and heart-rending from those concluding events, and that they certainly were, but I found the overall tone to be more haunting and enigmatic than anything else, sad but in a strange way uplifting. All in all, a beautiful, poignant and powerful conclusion to this utterly entrancing anime.

And Kiba, Tsume, Hige, Toboe, et al - your company will be severly missed.

Good News Week

A news-related comedy game show hosted by Paul McDermott.

I'd tell you the best joke of that episode, but it's a bit complicated to understand. Instead, I'll provide a YouTube link:

FHFIF, Setting A President. Still one of the best episodes of the entire series.

Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers (on YouTube) - The Case of the Cola Cult

Man, it's been so long since I've seen that show. Even though I've only seen two episodes of it (which I STILL have on VHS ), it was worth watching this one.

This episode involved the Rangers discovering a cult where the members worship a cola soft drink. In a subplot, Gadget loses her confidence when several of her inventions fail, and quits the team.

I remember that one well. It was a really neat concept having a bunch of lonely mice joining a cult around basic soda products. I also remember it because that was the one episode Gadget REALLY kicked ass! She took a major turn there.

Going all Rambo at the end and actually taking a stand for herself instead of being down in the dumps about her inventions screwing up. Excellent show.

Last TV show I watched was Desert Punk.

It's an anime and a damn funny one, I'm showing my best friend all the anime in my collection and it just left on a HUGE cliffhanger. Hilarious show though kind of dark and not your typical anime hero type character.

Ah yes, one of my favorite movies.

The part where they eat a peyote cactus and start hallucinating is one of the most awesome things I have ever seen. Can't go wrong with White Zombie, no sir

Apparently if you play that scene backwards you can hear Beavis say "I suggest that everybody go to college, and study hard". Pretty smart advice for a buttknocker.

I am watching some Beavis and Butthead right now, the Bus Trip episode to be exact.

It has one of my favorite running gags in the series in which everytime Mr. Van Dreesen whips out his guitar bad things are sure to happen. (And in this case the hippie teacher REALLY gets the shaft.)
