People who drive like morons and then look at everybody else like they're the morons makes me want to take hostages.

Wondercon is this weekend, but I can't go anymore because they moved it from the Bay Area to Anaheim. :bloosad: Lauren (and perhaps Craig) will be there and everything. I never get to see them anymore.

My hate for Carls Jr commercials led me to a wonderful site, commercialsihate.com. I immediately registered. :P

I don't get the argument some people make when you complain about commercials, saying "if you don't like it don't watch it/turn it off". Its a COMMERCIAL, not a 2 hour movie. What are you supposed to do, turn the set off, sit there and count to 30, and then flip it back on?

Frankie_4_Prez 04-08-2012 05:58 PM

Baby laughing - love or hate?

Speaking of commercials, this one made me change the channel whenever it aired.

Babies are cute, and at first I thought it was funny, but it got annoying fast, as it was aired about twice daily. I feel either you love it or hate it.

By the way, I'm in Brazil now. The point of the commercial is to help this bank save money if you switch to paperless statements. There was even a "the making of" where I found out the baby is from an English-speaking family, most likely American.

Sparky 05-09-2012 03:19 PM

I was just the victim of check fraud. Last month I decided to be nice when a couple guys came around claiming to be selling books and magazines and I cut them a 7 dollar check for a magazine that was supposed to be donated to a children's hospital. But I felt weird about it and looked up the company name and found that they alter checks. I put a stop on the check but they did in fact alter it so the stop didn't work because in order to stop a check you have to know the amount it was written for, and the bank thought it was written for 70 because that's what the company altered it to say. It should be all taken care of now, but what a pain in the butt.

Replying to tell me know dumb I was or how you already knew about that scam would make you a jerk, by the way.

It's amazing how low people will sink to get money. I don't think the penalties for this kind of crap are stiff enough.

And, speaking of low ways to make money, look what one town in New Jersey is now doing:

http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs...opstories.html

Yep, an $85.00 fine for texting while walking. All in the name of "safety", of course. Yeah, right. ::)

Sparky 05-13-2012 11:04 PM

Oh no, I EAT at Carl's, all the time, I just abhor their over-sexed ads.

Tonya 05-30-2012 09:42 PM

I hate how after working on the second week of your first job ever how the boss yells at you, complaining that they constantly have to go behind you and fix your mistakes. And have the other employees glare at you like you're a moron from outerspace over a one time $1.69 miscalculation.

Saw this warning on TF2 Trading post:

Quote:

Beware of a new hijacking link floating around, mimicking the imageshack URL. It uses a dash instead of a period. Images in the format img111.imageshack.us are ok, but images in the format img111-imageshack.us are not safe. (111 is used as an example)
So now there are fake imageshack URL's waiting to hijack unsuspecting targets. As if we need more chumps who make these kind of malicious links.

Howard 07-21-2012 11:25 AM

I'm ticked off because my trip to San Diego is over.:frankiemad:

Sparky 07-29-2012 06:18 PM

This, very much so, ticks me off:

http://blogs.sacbee.com/crime/archiv...ficials-s.html

This is just the latest chapter in what has been some of the most sickening news I have ever heard. Weeks back, a local furry costume designer's sister and the sister's boyfriend were walking the sister's four dogs when a drunk lunatic tore through a stopsign. The dogs were all killed and scattered everywhere. Hari's leg was knocked clean off and landed yards away. Gem was injured but released from the hospital after several days. Hari died this morning. Witnesses say Hari pushed Gem out of the way and took the full force of the impact to save her. I am so sick over this right now. :(

Cassini90125 08-15-2012 04:03 PM

Animal cruelty:

http://abcnews.go.com/US/cleveland-d...ry?id=17012353

What is wrong with people that makes them do things like this?? :bloosad:

Ccook50 08-20-2012 05:50 AM

When listening to the radio, if there's an emergency, like a tornado warning, the announcers will give the telephone number for emergency situations like the police or fire department only once. But when a commercial comes on touting home re-fi, debt relief, miracle pharmaceuticals, whatever, they will repeat their telephone number up to six times in the same spot.

Lizard 08-25-2012 04:58 AM

What ticks me off is Cartoon Network killing off good shows like Fosters (I loved Big Fat Awesome House Party). But that was a while back.

IIRC Foster's wasn't cancelled, it finished because the staff were moving on or something similar, right? (I'm bad at remembering things)

But yeah, I agree with you, it always sucks when good shows get cancelled before their time :<

taranchula 08-27-2012 05:44 PM

While it was a shame Foster's was taken off of the air three years ago. Things did turn out well for the major creative forces behind the show, Craig has got a promising new show (Wonder over Yonder) set to debut on Disney next year, Lauren broke barriers with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, people like Rob Renzitti, Amy Keating Rogers and Tim McKeon (Just to name a few) are continuing to lend their creative talents to the current crop of animated fair. And of course most of the wonderful actors involved in the show seem to have no trouble finding gigs.

As for Cartoon Network, even they have been getting back on track the last couple of years, Adventure Time and Regular Show are two good examples of this.

AcornBulb 08-29-2012 01:35 AM

You can say that sir, but let's be honest : new shows will never be like the old ones. The older shows had something special about them. I remember watching Foster's everytime before going to school. Nowdays, I ain't watching cartoons anymore, but even if I would, I won't have get the same feeling.

Mulch 08-29-2012 11:15 AM

That's just nostalgia talking. New stuff doesn't feel like old stuff to you because you're older. Many a YouTube commenter has fallen into this horrid pit before you; I suggest you climb out. :bloowink:

Personally, I think there's a lot of fantastic things going on in the world of animated television right now, including the three already airing shows mentioned above. Wander Over Yonder is going to be great too, in all likelihood.

Blergh, off-topic post.

You have a point, and I must agree with you in some parts. However, nostalgia or not, the content of new cartoons got stronger in the last years, and kids can be influenced by that.

Lol, the unabashed greed of the human species continues. Check out this gem that just popped up in my dA message box a few minutes ago:

Indeed. For the record, 2,700 dA points = $33.75. NOT MY PROBLEM. ::)

Imaginary Dream 11-17-2012 04:53 PM

Boomerang ::)

As much as I love that they are playing our beloved cartoon again they now seem to cast it aside. They used to play four episodes, two Saturday and two Sunday. Now they have done away with Saturday's episodes all together, completely skipping the two in their order, and now are showing Ben 10 in Foster's place. :edmad:

They also only showed one half of GWH!:( They should at least show the whole movie. I hadn't seen it in years.

I have to have a root canal tomorrow. I'm still recovering from abdominal surgery and now this. :P Plus my insurance won't cover it. :(

Cassini90125 03-31-2013 08:38 PM

It's dA's idea of an April Fool's prank. It's April 1st here; I got suspicious and decided to test the dang thing. I, and at least one other person, have been matched with a 14 year-old girl who appears to be in on the "joke":

Again, pathetic. :P

Some S.O.B. made a grab for my camera tonight as he passed me on the sidewalk. Fortunately I had the better grip so all he got was a hateful glare. Might have gotten a beating, too, if I wasn't outnumbered 3 to 1. Congratulations on helping to perpetuate your ethic group's stereotype, lowlife. As far as I'm concerned, you should be killed. :madbloo:

Would not have happened here in AZ (even if were 3 to 1).
