WiltsAKGirl17 03-04-2008 08:41 PM

Here are the next two states:

Ohio-- my home state! :D

Oklahoma-- Thanks, pbl, for the idea!

Enjoy!

Lynnie 03-04-2008 09:45 PM

Oooh, chili! Now I'm hungry too. I'd love some over Frito's. With lettuce, tomato, onion, black olives, sour cream and salsa. Yeah, I want haystacks now...

Eh hem, anyway, nice ones WiltsAK! I especially like Frankie giving the chili a thumbs up.

LaBloo 03-05-2008 02:48 PM

Good job! Keep the tour going!

pitbulllady 03-05-2008 04:11 PM

We DO have Skyline Chili here in SC! I just had no idea where it was made, only that it is great on a burger!

Yeah, I'm in the mood for Skyline chili now too-- being hungry to begin with certainly doesn't help! But like I said on DA, Skyline chili is sort of like a soup. Although you can add diced onion to a hotdog with Skyline Chili and shredded cheese and it's good. (I skip the onions.) You can also do that with spaghetti, too-- spaghetti, Skyline chili and cheese is a three-way. Then you add beans or onions (can't remember which) and you get a four way; then there's a five way, which is beans AND onions. They talked about it on an epsiode of Unwrapped on the Food Network.

Anyway, thanks for the comment. :)

Thanks. I'm working on it. I'm stuck on Oregon, but I have Pennsylvannia. I just got back from spring break, so I have access to Photoshop once more!

I've never really seen Skyline outside of Ohio, but this is great news to hear! When I was younger, I didn't like the chili, but that changed when I was fourteen-ish. I've never tried it on a burger though... and I can't imagine my parents being too pleased with me putting perfectly good Skyline on a burger. Maybe I'll try it when I'm home alone...

Here's Oregon (thanks, Nem! :D) and Pennsylvannia. Enjoy!

LaBloo 03-16-2008 10:56 AM

Yea! Good Job on it! I hope you keep going in Spring Break.

WiltsAKGirl17 03-17-2008 10:58 AM

Thanks. Although... spring break's been over for a couple of weeks. I miss it so much... :'( I'm sill working on the project, but Rhode Island's not turning up anything good. That mean's there's good and bad news:

Bad news-- Rhode Island is keeping me from doing South Carolina, which I've been looking forward to for MONTHS now.

Good news-- South Carolina's next! :D

Oops. My Spring Break is right now.

WiltsAKGirl17 03-22-2008 08:55 PM

Eh, it's cool. My school's schedule is so bass-ackwards, I've come to expect this.

There's the next four states:
~ Rhode Island
~ South Carolina (Hopefully, this will earn the pbl Seal of Approval :please:)
~ South Dakota (Thanks for the idea, pbl!)
~ Tennesee

Enjoy!

WiltsAKGirl17 03-26-2008 04:33 PM

Please forgive the double post.

Here's Texas. Sorry that's all I have-- Texas was being stubborn and, despite all the input from you guys (which I immensely appreciate!), I was just having trouble. Hopefully the humor will make up for it.

Diamond Duchess 03-26-2008 06:03 PM

I forgive your double post, WiltsAKGirl17.

It's okay, your Texas entry works well, despite your worries.

The little yellow one takes a trip to the Texas State Aquarium...
Cheese(pointing to piranha tank): Pretty fishies!
Everyone else: Cheese, get away from there! It's dangerous!
Cheese: I like fishy crackers.
Everyone else: Cheese, they don't drink chocolate milk!!!
(Cheese plunges into the tank)
[Insert the rest of this snippet here]

Funny, funny. You're right: it is fun to paste Cheese into science-based pictures. Good job, and good luck with the remainder of your project.

Thefishdude 03-26-2008 06:53 PM

hehe nice pic of cheese.

Y'know, as often as I double post, I truly hate doing it. I feel... I dunno, guilty or something.

I'm glad you like the Texas pic-- I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out. :) Something about Cheese in science-based pics is always fun. I'll try to do right with the rest of the states.

Once again, sorry about the double post.

Here's Utah. I have more, but I'm doing homework (yes, in the middle of the night!) and I'll add more later.

Thefishdude 04-20-2008 03:07 PM

Wow, what an update. Good Job

WiltsAKGirl17 05-02-2008 03:54 PM

The Last Hurrah... (HURRAH!)

It's official: I finished the Road Trip this morning! Finally! Here are all the links:

~ Vermont (Thanks, pbl!)

~ Virginia (I just realized that I could have used Arlington, but it's cool.)

~ Washington (Thanks to a DA user for this idea. It's a lot better than what I'd originally planned-- World Kite Museum.)

~ West Virginia (Thanks, pbl!)

~ Wisconsin (I had this one planned for a while. I like it.)

~ Wyoming (Thanks again, pbl!)

I'm currently waiting on Washington DC to upload; I'll let you know when it's up ASAP.

Before I go any farther, I just want to thank you guys for sticking with me and my crazy cut-past jobs and puns this long! I appreciate it more than you'll ever beleive. If I ever whined and complained about this ordeal, I was really enjoying it. A million and a half quyana cakneq's to you guys! :D

~ WAKG17, aka supergeek17

EDIT: Sorry, Mac-a-lacka-- I didn't realize you'd posted here! Man, I feel bad now. Thank you so much for the idea, though.

Frankie_4_Prez 05-02-2008 04:13 PM

Very nice! I like how you incorporate word play that reflects on some aspect of that state's culture while being totally respectful. Clever and funny at the same time! Like Foster's!

Out of the last 6, I find the Wisconsin one funniest... now I have to go look at the other 45 (once DC shows up)!

Washington: Really pretty! I had in mind Wilt next to a distance shot of the space needle, so they look equally tall in a pic.

Vermont: I didn't understand why the carrot on Cheese... plus that scene of cheese "spitting" the carrot out in the Big Cheese grossed me out. Care to explain the "joke" to me?

Lynnie 05-02-2008 04:52 PM

Nicely done, WitsAK. A well rounded finish to the road trip. Seeing the cheese in Vermont is making me hungry (I love cheese!). Williamsburg, VA is an awesome place, it's like a step back in time in so many ways. And I am very pleased with Washington. I love that mountain! Yes, isn't it pretty?

Thefishdude 05-03-2008 07:32 AM

Great Job In All The Work U Done!

Mac-a-lacka 05-03-2008 07:44 AM

Thanks-- I'm glad you enjoyed it all. Word play and puns are one of ym strong points, so coming up with captions was half the fun! And the last thing I wanted to do was slam someone's state, on purpose or on accident. The only state I would consider slamming would be Alaska, and I'm allowed to do that because I live here. ;)

I like your idea for Washington. The only real reason I went with Mr. Herriman and Madame Foster because I was skimming Sparky's screengrabs and I was thinking, Okay, Mt. Rainier... outside pictures... "Camp Keep a Good Mac Down"-- okay that works. <click; scans pics> Okay that'll cut it.

Sorry about the inadvertant gross-out on Vermont. What I was thinking was Cheese was gonna toss the carrot in at the last minute. (Yeck, drooly carrots... <shudder>) So, yeah, that's my joke.

Thank you. Thinking about the VT pic is making me hungry, but lunch is about an hour away. <frowny face> And I'm glad you liked Washington. I really liked the way to colors turned out.

Thanks-- I'm glad you liked it.

And I swear that I'll get DC up soon!

Frankie_4_Prez 05-05-2008 06:03 PM

It occurred to me maybe a few hours after first seeing it,"ewwww I don't want Cheese's drooly carrot in MY cheese!" Guess we just have different tastes for humor, heh.

I like the DC pic, good way to end the series with the whole crew there!

Lynnie 05-05-2008 09:27 PM

Aww, the DC one is perfect. Wow, what a great trip they had, thanks for taking them on one, WiltsAK. :D

At first I saw the knife in the middle of Ed's belt buckle with what appeared to be blood on it and wondered "Wha..??" But then I saw it was Jackie holding it, and a piece of bread. But it totally threw me off there for a minute. 8D

I'm weird like that-- I find Family Guy-brand humor immensely entertaining, so that should say something for why I thought a drolly carrot would be humorous. :P

Glad you like the DC pic-- I always wanted to include everybody for the end, since it was about EVRYBODY and it wouldn't be fair to limit the ending to just one character.

Thanks. As if I haven't said it enough, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

And I almost expected people to be thrown off by where I put Jackie. That was my fault, and I know should have put him somewhere else, but in the interest of balance he went where he is now. Hey, it makes you pay more attention. 8D

Uh oh. :-[ Oops. Gimme a few minutes, guys.

WiltsAKGirl17 05-07-2008 10:52 AM

Sorry about the double post. Again.

For real this time, here's Washington DC (:blooxd:). Thank you, Frankie_4_Prez, for cushioning your critique of my major boo-boo in humor.

Again, thanks for sticking with me this long.

Sincerely,
~ WAKG17, aka supergeek17 :D
