Marty's List of Top Movies (in no particular order):

-Titanic (I've loved it since it first came into theatres when I was five. My mother took me because she wanted to see it and there was no babysitter. And thus an obsession was born, because I know more about the Titanic than most people do. Don't get me started, because I will never shut up).

-Pirates of the Carribbean (Both- I was reluctant to see the first one, but I loved it. I saw the second one twice in theatres... Best line: "I got a jar of dirt, I've got a jar of dirt!"

-Phantom of the Opera (Okay, I'm a musical freak... I think Emmy Rossum has a sweet voice, and Gerald Butler is extremely incharacter. And Patrick Wilson is brilliant as well.)

-RENT (Haven't seen it for a while, but it's a great movie.)

-Moulin Rouge (Ah... classic... I still think that the director, whose name I can never spell correctly, should have directed RENT... Not that I don't love Chris Columbus, I just think that Baz whatever-his-last-name-is would be more appropriate)

-West Side Story (So sad... I cry everytime I watch it...)

-Newsies (a given... Racetrack is my favorite newsie, but then again, Christian Bale is currently number one on my list of top five hottest guys.)

-High School Musical (Only because I'm Kelci in the stage musical right now. It's an okay movie- the score is good, as is the acting, but the singing is a little weak, as is the lipsyncing and Ashley Trisdale's tap dancing. Actually, her tap dancing is MORE than a little weak- it sucks. She was probably my least favorite out of everyone, even though I adore her character.)

-The Princess Diaries (Classic Marty chick flick... I loved it... The second one was good, but not as good as the first.)

-13 Going on 30 (Hello? Not only is Sean Marquette, the voice of our beloved Mac in the beginning and end, but it also has lots of eighties pop culture refferences which I adore.)

And there are probably more... But I don't feel like rooting through my DVD drawer to look.

WOW you sure like muscials ;D. But that's all well in good, I myself am actually a big fan and lover of the Titanic movie. I actually get alot of flak and weird looks from people because I'm a guy and the movie's too "sappy for a guy to like it".

But I thought it was a breathtaking movie. It's deep, it's serious, it's intense, it's a movie that is an expierence one cannot easily duplicate. I was so pissed I couldn't find it on DVD until I found they were releasing it on special edition.

I bought it and loved watching it again. Titanic is also one of the very FEW movies that have brought me to tears (the scene with the frozen baby at the end really got to me). Other films include "Independe Day" and "United 93".

I'm a music freak by nature, I guess.

I LOVE Titanic. When I was little and had the two tape widescreen VHS, I used to fast forward to the part when the ship went down.

Now I skip the second half altogether sometimes. I really love the movie, though...

I'm not an avid movie fan, but I can pick out a few of my favorites easily:

1. God Only Knows - Best. Movie. EVER. Excellent cast, hilarious references to pop culture, song spoofs, and a pretty good ending for a comedy movie. How could I not love this little gem?

2. Mumbai Express - I didn't think I'd like this movie, but I did. It has a lot more heart than many mainstream Bollywood movies that claim to be filled with jumbling emotions and whatnot (MExpress wasn't on emotional crack or anything, but there was never one completely emotionally shallow moment). The movie had an interesting blend of characters and excellent screenplay. It never had any boring movements and there weren't any dance sequences present to lag the story. In fact, the only song that actually plays in the whole movie is the theme song, but it was inserted in a very suitable scene.

3. The Lion King - It was the first movie I saw in a movie theatre (well, this and Little Women). I think this was Disney's best movie. It had more of an epic feeling and perfectly integrated the whole "Circle of Life" concept in Simba's life. Also, the animation and score were stellar.
