The latest Simpson's Treehouse of Horror. I only watched the Transformers parody and it was actually half decent as far as recent Simpson's episodes are concerned.

south park.

i gotta say, this is pretty much exactly how i feel about High School Musical. Obviously, i find it hilarious.

I'm presently watching Children In Need Night, with Sir Terry Wogan. True, it's pretty disposable entertainment all-round, but it's for a very good cause, so why be cynical?

That said, and as with last year, I am kind of ticked that they went and pulled their previously 2D-animated mascot Pudsey in favour of a rather graceless CGI equivilent. Seriously, does everything have to be CGI these days? I notice that they even simplified his character design by quite a substantial margin this year, presumably so as to make it a little easier for the computer animation to accommodate. It's just wrong.

Phineas and Ferb

I've been watching Toon Disney's "All weekend long" marathon of this show, and I am currently watching it right now as we speak. I've seriously become ADDICTED to this show, I've watched hours of this show and I rarely watch a marathon this much and I even got my girlfriend hooked on it , I love hooking people on other shows.

Its a really funny and sharp story, excellent writing despite there are a few repeated comical gags that sometimes gets old. But never the less, I am loving this show and Perry and Platypus and Dr. Doofenschmirtz rules!!!

While all you all's was enjoying Destination Imagination, (I couldn't watch that, due to it not airing in Canada.)

I was watching a different TV movie special of a show that has also not seen any new episodes in quite some time. I am of course talking about recent TV movie special 24:Redemption. (A.K.A Jack Bauer goes to Africa.)

I was kind of leery about this special, as memories of the show's sub par sixth season are still burned into my brain, but as soon as I saw Jack Bauer doing what he does best...(Kicking butt and taking names)all of those sub par memories quickly faded away.

The action scenes were as usual top notch.

The cinematography was beautiful (portions of the film were shot on location in South Africa.)

The story was pretty poignant without being too overbearing or agenda heavy.

And the acting was well done.

All in all a great way to set up Season seven and anyone who is a fan of this show would do well to track it down and check it out.

taranchula 11-30-2008 08:35 PM

I kicked off my one Christmas special a day viewing extravaganza, with a trip back to the year 2005 for a little Christmas Foster's style with that season three classic: A Lost Claus.

Needless to stay it still very well holds up today as it did three years ago, and is a definite high point of a series that has been so full of high points that it has since left the stratosphere and headed to uncharted space.

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends 'Destination Imagination' - YouTube

Needless to say, I really enjoyed it, from the Super Mario Bros. parody to the hilarious Hero (8D), this was a great movie.

Fraggle Rock

Complex, dynamic and beautiful. Jim Henson mixes high satire with almost Hitchcockian menance in this dark satire of late twentieth century industrial society that deftly pays homage to the poetry of Rimbaud. Compelling and moving drama reminscent of Jean Luc Godard's early work with a subtle hint of pre-revisionist social realism.

Despite that I liked it lots. Red made friends with a Lily-creature and they all sung some nice songs about friendship. Fraggle Rock big koosie favourite. Yes.

Not JJ. That show terrified me as a nipper. When I was three or four years old I used to run and hide behind the sofa whenever it came on, or else beg my mother to change the channel. That's how frightened of it I was. :macwor:

Wow! Maybe there really was some Hitchcockian menace there. I'm fascinated, can you remember what it was that you feared. I suppose children can be very irrational -I was afraid of the opening credits of Ask the family (with Robert Robinson) for some unknown reason as well as a few other quiz shows I can't even recall now.

I was afraid of the Gorgs. Really, quite deathly afraid of them. Actually, there was a little bit more to it than that, but the Gorgs were where the bulk of my terror lay. Some would maintain that Jr Gorg was really just a sad and lonely attention-seeker, but he frightened the bejeezers out of me as a kid. He somewhat lost that power in his later animated form, though.

taranchula 12-03-2008 02:49 PM

Even though I thought Fraggle Rock was one of the greatest things since sliced bread, (So much so that I went out of my way to attend the 25'th anniversary show at this years Comic Con. ) It too also caused me a bit of the childhood jibblies.

I used to own of those read-a-long books on tape deals, it was a story about how Gobo Fraggle had to go and confront some kind of monster that lurked in the Fraggle caves, and the shrieking sound said monster made never failed to send shivers up my spine.

Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death

The dynamic duo are back, and funnier than ever. I managed to spot two (obvious) parodies in this too. But it was still a great short! Really enjoyed it.

We adore Wallace & Gromit!

I watched the latest episode of "Pushing Daisies" last night. I really like this quirky show.

Yeah, I'd heard that you guys in Australia were going to get to see the new film at the start of the month. Here in the UK, I think they're going to hold its broadcast over until a little later on to tie in with the Xmas period. I'm very much looking forward to it. Curse of the Were-Rabbit was a marvellous film which set a whole new benchmark for both W&G and Aardman in general, but at the same time it is kind of nice to see them return to their original television roots. Hollywood has clearly not gone to their heads.

frankie_fan 12-04-2008 06:10 PM

The only thing I didn't like about the short is that because of the late broadcast, it won't be eligible for a Best Animated Short Film Oscar until 2010. But on the bright side, it has been nominated an Annie for Best Animated Short Subject!

Chowder's Christmas episode "Hey hey, it's Knishmas". It was funny and cute as any other Chowder, but I was disappointed it was just that- just another Chowder episode. It wasn't "special", or at least, I didn't feel it was. Now, A Lost Claus wasn't just another Foster's episode. It was something "special", and we could tell just by watching it, not just because it was titled a "special" instead of an "episode". Oh well, I guess I'm not too surprised. I still enjoyed it, though. :)

Boston Legal

The series finale, yup the show is over and I feel the airwaves are a sadder place because of it. The show did not by any means have a bad run and while I did feel its final season did seem slightly less superb in contrast to its prior seasons, it was still a top notch show and even in its most sub par episodes I have felt Boston Legal's worst has been better then some shows best work.

To me, this was without a doubt the most brilliant, sophisticated yet silly, intelligent yet humorous program I have ever seen on TV. The level of intellect and the incredible charm of the complex and iconic characters and their genius dialog in both comical and critical overtones were superb, sublime, and supremely entertaining as well as educational.

I came into this show during its 3rd season and recently I have managed to hook both my best friend and my girlfriend into this show by showing them the DVD seasonal sets, and thus I feel happier knowing I can share this show with someone. On the finale itself, I felt it was one of the finer series endings I have seen in quite a while. It left a minor hanging issue or two but nothing huge.

This show ended like it started, brilliantly and hysterically. This show has a very unique and distinguished sense of humor and feeling and I felt the finale captured it perfectly. It was an appropriate and a great ending to a great series and I am not happy that it is gone but I am truly happy it ended on a great note. Goodbye Boston Legal, it was a hoot while it lasted and I'll always keep this show in my heart as one of the finest things I ever saw.

It had Gorgonzola in it. Any episode that has Gorgonzola in it is automatically awesome.

Total Drama Island

The series finale (or so they say). They finally concluded the contest and announced the winner out of the 22 campers, it was a hilarious finale with some excellent juicy cameos from the other campers, as well as Heather getting even MORE karma smacked upside her head.

I'm not sure if anyone on this board likes this show or cares about who won but I love the show :D and in any case I'll be safe, the winner is
Spoiler Below
Owen.
I have to say I was honestly surprised and I didn't see it coming, but I am glad to hear there are more episodes to come and supposedly a new season.

I hear ya, I love TDI! I already knew who was going to win though, because being a Canadian series, Canada got it before us Americans, and I couldn't resist reading the spoilers they were posting.:P My heart was still beating pretty quickly at the end though. Can't wait for the reunion special next week. And Total Drama Action (season 2) airs in Canada in January, so hopefully we'll be seeing that soon.:)

my life as a teenage robot

man.. its been, what? at least a year or two since ive seen this show.

anyhow, this episode is the one of my favorites. the first part was about all of jenny's previous models. i cant really explain it, but it was pretty awesome.

other part was where she gets to kindergarden. also hilarious. again, i cant describe it.

uh, just go and watch it on youtube or somewhere else if you have the chance. titles of the parts are "sibling tsunami/i was a preschool dropout."

Futurama: A Tale of Two Santas

As Christmas specials go this one is one of the best, why? Well I can sum that up in four words.

Coolio as the Kwanzaabot.

Ben 10: Alien Force. Apparently, Grandpa Max ain't dead! He's in the Null Void.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

Chuck Jones + Dr. Seuss = BLISS!!!!

Actually there is one thing I've always wondered about this book/cartoon, are the Who's in this story the same Who's from "Horton Hears a Who"?

If so, then where the heck was the Grinch when their entire civilization as they knew it was on the brink of extinction? I mean maybe the events of Horton could have taken place during the time when the Grinch was a still a sour-puss and hated the Who's.

But even then, I would still think that old Grinch would have put up some kind of protest about being potentially wiped out by malicious outside forces.

Oh, the things one comes up with when they let their mind wander to places far far away. (And are still waiting for it to return.)

Spicks and Specks - A Very Specky Christmas 2008

Those who know about the whole rickrolling thing... well, it had to happen here sometime.

One of the questions was what artist and what song was used as for the rickrolling meme (which was the 1987 Rick Astley song Never Gonna Give You Up). As we were about to be shown a clip for the next question, the Rick Astley clip came on, so we all ended up getting Rickrolled! 8D

Pee Wee's Playhouse Christmas Special.

How can anyone hate on a Christmas special that features the likes of Cher, Oprah, Whoopi Golgberg, Grace Jones, Little Richard, Charo, Magic Johnson, KD Lang, Annet Funicello, Frankie Avalon, John Rivers and the US Marines men's choir?

No one without any kind of decent sense of humor, that's who. :P

Nothing Christmassy, but, I'm not an avvid celebrator of the holiday anyways.

Good show is good. :bloobleh:

Hole In The Wall (The Clipshow)

Who would have guessed that a game show in which contestants have to assume various bodily contortions in order to fit through incoming holes and avoid being knocked into a pool of water could be so unashamedly addictive? I'm really going to miss this series.

some guy you dont know 12-30-2008 10:12 AM

Malcom in the Middle

Lois cancels christmas if the boys misbehave. Considering their track record, that just doesnt seem fair. Or maybe it does. They're about as naughty as possible without being felons.

Also francis visits grandma. She's also evil. Everyone in this show is so messed up.

And yet, it is very entertaining.

Lost

My girlfriend is trying to get me in on this show and I just got finished watching the first season on DVD. While I don't absolutely love it, I can easily see the appeal to it and can understand why so many people are hooked on it. The show is designed with an extremely compelling design and cast of characters.

I'm not sure if I'll watch all the way to season 4 and beyond but who knows, for now it's pretty damn good.

He-man....

What?! I like Skeletor...*shifty eyes*

Cassini90125 01-25-2009 08:36 PM

Ah, Skeletor... When I think of him, more often than not I think not of He-Man but of his guest appearance on She-Ra.

HerrimanWasHere 01-26-2009 07:15 PM

I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoys watching Skeletor! He just steals the show for me.

What am I watching? If you must really know, I am watching Phinease and Ferb. (NOSY PEOPLE!) Perry the Platypus and Doctor Doofenshmirtz crack me up.

Lynnie 01-26-2009 07:31 PM

I've seen "Phinease and Ferb", I think it's pretty good. :) I have to admit I pay little attention to the Disney Channel anymore though. Too much HSM, Hannah Montana and Jonas Bros stuff. It's overkill, to say the least.

I'm watching "Superstars of Dance" on NBC right now, although I'll have to get to bed before it's over. In a matter of minutes, in fact. I'm far from being a reality show fan, but I caught this show by chance and some of these dancers are amazing. I'm partial to the Russian ballerina due to my love for all things ballet, but I really love the American guy who does this new break-dance style called "Popping", he's soooo cool! I've been rooting for not only America, but Ireland, Russia and India too. I think they're all awesome.

HerrimanWasHere 01-27-2009 05:36 PM

I actually rarely watch television anymore, I find it on the net. (Disney Channel makes me weep now-a-days. I mean...what happen to it?!)

Invader Zim. I took out my dvds today.

some guy you dont know 01-31-2009 01:26 PM

Powerpuff girls.

man I haven't watched this in forever. lets see... first part has a new superhero take over and the girls have nobody to help. but something's fishy. Second half has Mojo Jojo steal the Professor and gets the girl's powers. I wont go into details, you gotta see it for yourself.
