I think he could have a similar relationship with  that :) has with :bloosmirk:

Bloo is sometimes kinda mean, and it brings out the greatness in the shy Mac.

Terrence can bring out the energy in the timid Red.

;D

True, but Terrence doesn't express as much sympathy as Bloo does, and the way Terrence crushed those flowers in front of Red certainly doesn't help. :P He could have a similar relationship with Red, but I somehow doubt it.

I, too, wish we could see more Red. Just acknowledging that he still exists would be nice.:'(

I watched Seeing Red earlier; always good to see him again, as I noted elsewhere. One thing that strikes me as a little odd about him was how slowly he formed when Terrence created him. This seems to be unique; every IF that Goo has created has just suddenly popped into existance, as did Eduardo in GWH. We can't really say that it's because Terrence is slow; he also created the late lamented Pizza Friend, who popped up in no time like all the others. What is it about Red that made him form so slowly? Any ideas, anyone?

Sparky 08-19-2007 07:09 PM

I personally think it was due to Terrence having a stunted imagination, at least consciously. He created Pizza subconsciously.

The way I always saw it was, most the other IFs we had the pleasure of seeing being created were more or less "thought of" before hand, so when they were officially created, their physical characteristics were already in place. So they just "popped" into existence. When Terrence was creating Red, it was a last minute decision, so he didn't have all Red's characteristics thought up of yet. So he was still becoming concrete even after he was created into "official" existence. Concerning Goo, she's soooooooo imaginative, even with the multitude of friends she's created, she's able to think up their characteristics in a moment and *pop*, there they are, not to say that some of them were premeditated, too. And I agree with Sparky, the Pizza friend was an entirely subconscience thing. I don't think he even realized it was a friend. He just looked, and there was a slice of pizza, and without giving it a second thought, he grabbed it and ate it. And maybe he was just "slow" in realizing something was out of whack when that slice of pizza said "Howdydoo! I love you!"

You know, I'd never actually seen that before. It's very cute. :smed: ;D

I don't believe that I've yet taken the time out to post any comments in Red's discussion thread, which is strange, since he's one of my favourite characters. Yeah, I love the goofy red block, and it always gives my heart-strings a good tugging when, after being battered by the unicorns (a bit unfairly, I thought, since he had nothing but kind words to say about them, but I guess they found him intrusive and annoying), he ponders why everyone has been so cruel to him and then, after realising that he has crushed a few flowers, bursts into tears. So sad. :'( But I'm glad that it helped Bloo to locate his softer, more sensitive side. ;D

I see a couple of people want to adopt him- I can imagine you would all be there at the home arguing over him, and trying to pull him in different directions! :o

I think Red conveys a softer side of Terrance that we otherwise never saw. (besides when he watches soaps!)
