Unfortunately, I've thought of another possible plot.

One/some people in the normal, real world are playing The Sims 2 and then...(that's right) they get sucked into the game!! Ooo. And then they have to help the residents with some issue or another. And possibly convince them that they have no real free will and that they should be free or something.

Just because it worked in Pleasantville doesn't mean it will work here. It sounds dumb already. ::)

I know the director of this film hasn't been named yet. But does anyone else have the sinking feeling that it's going to turn out to be Uwe Boll? :P

Invader Bloo 05-25-2007 05:40 PM

Wow, this would happen. ::)

koosie: I assume you're referring to the recently announced Tintin movie trilogy from Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson? What makes you say that's a bad idea? ??? They're fast-paced, exciting adventure/mystery stories filled with exotic locales, memorable characters and great action setpieces; I'd say they're potentially fabulous movie material, provided Jackson and Spielberg are able to capture the charm of Herge's brilliant artwork in their visual design. Unless you're saying you just don't like Tintin...in which case you'll have me (and Craig McCracken!) to answer to...:P

The Sims, on the other hand...how on earth could that possibly work? ??? The point of The Sims is that you've got characters living a normal life, but that you can control them. Doesn't removing the "control" part render the whole excercise pointless? Unless, as has been speculated, the movie will be actually about someone controlling someone else's life, but that's an idea that's been done before as well (The Truman Show and Stranger Than Fiction spring to mind), and by far better and more intelligent filmmakers, so that strikes me as pointless too...I dunno, this just sounds like an incredibly poorly-conceived cash-in to me. ::)

I just got off the phone with Uwe Boll. He said even this is beneath him.

Nyo 05-27-2007 01:45 PM

You talked to him? Did you tell him to make good movies?

Mr. Marshmallow 05-27-2007 02:49 PM

If you get a chance to talk to him, give him the same message Yucko the clown gave Sundance film makers at their festival:

*points to a garbage can*

"Stick your careers right in there, then go home and kill yourself!"

If they're stuck for titles, they can peruse this list I compiled. As always, this is a free service.

"The Application Will Now Terminate: The Movie"

"Starting Fires While Cooking TV Dinners: The Secret Lives of Nannies"

"Turning Off the Censor Blur Because It Goes Through the Walls But Then You Feel Like a Voyeur So You Turn It On Again: The Reckoning"

"Click 2"

"Goopy GilsCarbo: The Man Behind the Legend"

"The Male Pregnancy Saga"

"Running To The Window And Being Surprised That It's Raining Every Time It Rains"

"A Series of Unfortunate Reinstalls"

Anyway, I'll go see it, but if they don't say "Shoo flee?" at least once I'll be extremely disappointed.
