Excel Saga
I just got finished rewatching this anime with a friend of mine who I recently got into anime. I have to say, this is probably the FUNNIEST anime ever created. I had forgotten how hard this show can make me laugh or how downright crazy and ridiculous this show can get. There's so much humor flying at you all at once its hard to stop laughing at it. Truly a great anime show that will always remain one of the greatest comedic animes ever created. |
Having been bed-ridden for the past few days from being hit hard with a nasty flue that's going around, I've been watching shows that I just don't often watch. "Dirty Jobs" has been the most watched show for me. That Mike Rowe is one cool guy.8D
|
I am also watching dirty jobs. tis a fun show. Mike rowe is a braver man than I. :l
|
Robotech, episode forty something I believe. I really enjoyed the Macross season but this one is like watching paint dry.:(
|
The last hour of a film about singer and composer Scott Walker, once of The Walker Brothers, focusing largely on his last couple of solo albums. Has anyone heard this stuff? OMG I had no idea where he'd gone. At one point someone compared him to Beckett and yeh I can see that a bit, it's really unsettling stuff. Not what I expected at all.

One Foot in the Grave: "Beware the Trickster on the Roof"
The "trickster" in the title refers to a peculiarly-shaped TV ariel which gazes down upon the streets below, keeping a watchful eye out for the well-being of certain residents, whilst gleefully mocking all others. Classic 90s comedy. It's too bad that the really great traditional British sitcom had to die alongside Victor Meldrew. |
American Gladiators (2008 version)
This show is incredibly insane and amusing to watch. Sometimes it's good to see goofy, pumped-up athletes in spandex performing outlandish stunts on national television. Heh. On a related note, Wolf (one of the official American Gladiators) always makes me smile. His parts from the show constantly appear on The Soup, and they're hilarious. He's so out there, but he seems cool. Heck, he even showed up on The Soup last week and poked fun at himself. That takes guts, which I can appreciate. :) |
Terminator: The Sara Conner Chronicles. Another fine episode has come and gone. I hope the writers strike doesn't cause this show to sink despite the success it's enjoying.
|
A couple of episodes of the Morph Files, a mid-nineties series featuring one of Aardman Animations' earliest and most enduring plasticine creations. The crucial difference between this and earlier venues in which our hero appeared is that instead of Tony Hart, Morph and his buddy Chaz were accompanied here by Neil Morrissey, or more appropriately his vocal chords, and that Morph, like much of us around this time, was beginning to embrace the rising age of digital technology, seeking much of his guidance from a colourful computer with some pretty lovely graphics. But, as with every Morph series, it's really good fun.

World's Ugliest Dog Competition
Frankly, some of the contestants aren't all that hideous: they're just wonky, but still seem like nice, well-behaved dogs. However, even though they may be well-trained, others are well...ugly. Real ugly. Still, these inconsistencies did not deter me from watching: There's a certain allure to knowing, exactly, the ugliest dog in America, and it's really amusing, to boot. Take that, Westiminster Dog Show! (No offense) |
Six Feet Under: "Everyone's Waiting"
Five minutes before it ended, I was thinking "It's really no big deal, don't know why I've heard so much about it..." Fifteen minutes after it ended, I'm still shaking and crying. Greatest series finale in television history. |
Transformers Animated: Along Came a Spider. A great episode with a slew of twists and surprises, definitely one of the best yet.:D
|
Law and Order: Illegal
I timer taped it from last week and while the Terminator show has been letting me down episode by episode, the new L&O has been doing the exact opposite. Each new episode has been blowing me away and this one blew my, my head, and my freaking mind away. I found this to be an excellent episode. Even though he is not as active as he used to be. Sam Waterston (Jack Mcoy) continues to remind me why I love him so much as an actor and a character. He was phenomenal in this episode and if I wasn't Law and Order addicted before, I sure as Hell am now with these new episodes. |
I don't know if this counts, but I'm watching a History Channel special called Life After People. The whole show focuses on what would happen to Earth if humans were to just disappear. We're currently on "25 Years After People."
It's quite fascinating. Eventually, the planet will completely take back what humans had-- roads disappear, buildings crumble, lights completely go out, wild animals move back into the cities and pets will revert to their primal instincts... It's a very interesting look at what the world would be like, and how we may think we're all-powerful, but eventually, we'll POOF! disappear and the world will go on like we weren't even there. It really makes you think. |
yeah, but we're a pretty persistent bunch. Survived supervolcanos, ice ages, etc.
I plan on being around for the next 50 or so years anyway :P |

Personally I'm rooting for the cockroaches. All hail to you, Blattella! 8-)

Tonight I watched Life In Cold Blood, the new series from David Attenborough which was specifically about Lizards. Fascinating stuff, beautiful photography with the usual sometimes annoying background music. Some eyebrow-raising Lizards tonight included Australian Sleepy Lizards that mate with a single partner to life and some strongly family-orientated skinks. Last week there was a legless Amphibian segmented like a giant worm. Very pretty.

futurama- route of all evil.
for some reason this seems to be one of my top 3 favorite episodes of futurama. i have a hard time trying to figure out why i enjoy it so much, but i do :D |
Boston Legal: "Rescue Me"
I know people on here have said this show is sexist and crude due to the fact James Spader and William Shatner don't get "reprimanded" for their perverse acts but, after seeing tonight's episode I have to say I don't think I've ever been as deeply moved before by this show. Not in this way, not like this episode. This episode I felt really spoke to me as a college student as it brought up several college issues I believe firmly about and have personal feelings towards. The writing and raw emotion this show presents really makes me surprised people haven't seen what a beautiful program this show really is. The characters and the humor are grand but this show really says a lot to me as a person, this episode more then ever and while I am sure most people are sick of my philosophical "fancy sounding" semi-emotional drama queen postings on movies and TV shows, I really feel better about me as a person after watching this particular episode and I just wanted to share that with you all. |

And the one that got me was a woman suing the high school her daughter went to, her daughter was killed falling asleep at the wheel and crashing. She was burnt out on too many courses, after school activities, and worried more about "getting the grade" then sleeping. The reason this spoke to me so deeply is because I hear about this thing ALL the time at my college. I hear kids talk about staying up to 3 to 4 am to do homework assignments or studying for tests just so they can make perfect honor roll scores and get into great colleges. That bugs me because personally, I can't stand seeing kids fry themselves just to make a score to get into a good college. The episode even pointed out "Since when does high grades equal happiness?" Kids are so worried about making perfect grades and taking on multiple work loads with full time jobs, striving to rent expensive apartments or homes they barely even visit, and juggling school work all for some stinking high ranking school score card sheet or to satisfy some unnecessary compulsion to be "independent". This episode really hammered in how kids are frying themselves. And I feel the same way. I myself have a schedule that works out so I can go to work, go to school, have enough time to do my homework AND free time and to me, that's more important then anything. If you can't have time to be yourself and have to sacrifice your identity just to get accepted into trophy case colleges, what's the point in trying? Why even bother if your not you? Sacrificing sleep and your identity is not worth it, no special recommendation or grade on a college application card is worth negating your existence, individual happiness, and basic REQUIRED sleeping regiments. I really felt this episode summed up all my feelings, concerns, and thoughts pertaining to this school topic and I felt it did a good job coming from a college student/me. |
LOST S4 - Eggtown
sdfgdsgasdgfhvdsaghvfadh *head explodes from Mind---Thing* I'm not sure if it's the best episode ever... but OMG it was AWESOME! :scribble: |
That's all under the assumption that humanity will disappear all at once without a cause and without any other appreciable environmental damage.
|
A healthy does of Beavis and Butt-Head. My collection that I ordered a few days ago came in today and I made short work of the wrapping so I could watch the first of nine disks full of episodes.
|
Best dang show MTV ever came up with. I haven't bought the series disks yet but I did get the movie some time back. Never gets old. ;D
|
Ya just gotta love Robert Stack's character and his fetish for cavity searches.8D

This morning, I finally got to watch the last four episodes of Wolf's Rain (I say finally because I've been renting the discs one by one through Lovefilm, and they've been sending me the series on a very intermittent basis...it's been over five months since I saw the previous lot, but that's partly because I had to freeze my account for a while). And wow...I've got to say that after following this series for so long I'm almost sorry to see it end, but I thought they handled the finale magnificently. I'd done enough background reading in advance to be expecting something fairly bleak and heart-rending from those concluding events, and that they certainly were, but I found the overall tone to be more haunting and enigmatic than anything else, sad but in a strange way uplifting. All in all, a beautiful, poignant and powerful conclusion to this utterly entrancing anime.
And Kiba, Tsume, Hige, Toboe, et al - your company will be severly missed. |
Good News Week
A news-related comedy game show hosted by Paul McDermott. I'd tell you the best joke of that episode, but it's a bit complicated to understand. Instead, I'll provide a YouTube link: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=g4IyIb5_af4 |
FHFIF, Setting A President. Still one of the best episodes of the entire series.

Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers (on YouTube) - The Case of the Cola Cult
Man, it's been so long since I've seen that show. Even though I've only seen two episodes of it (which I STILL have on VHS ), it was worth watching this one. This episode involved the Rangers discovering a cult where the members worship a cola soft drink. In a subplot, Gadget loses her confidence when several of her inventions fail, and quits the team. |
I remember that one well. It was a really neat concept having a bunch of lonely mice joining a cult around basic soda products. I also remember it because that was the one episode Gadget REALLY kicked ass! She took a major turn there.
Going all Rambo at the end and actually taking a stand for herself instead of being down in the dumps about her inventions screwing up. Excellent show. Last TV show I watched was Desert Punk. It's an anime and a damn funny one, I'm showing my best friend all the anime in my collection and it just left on a HUGE cliffhanger. Hilarious show though kind of dark and not your typical anime hero type character. |

The part where they eat a peyote cactus and start hallucinating is one of the most awesome things I have ever seen. Can't go wrong with White Zombie, no sir Apparently if you play that scene backwards you can hear Beavis say "I suggest that everybody go to college, and study hard". Pretty smart advice for a buttknocker. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZapV4...elated&search= |
I am watching some Beavis and Butthead right now, the Bus Trip episode to be exact.
It has one of my favorite running gags in the series in which everytime Mr. Van Dreesen whips out his guitar bad things are sure to happen. (And in this case the hippie teacher REALLY gets the shaft.) |
