The news coverage of the bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis.

Teen Titans: Revved Up

One of the so called "wacky episodes" of the series, this one was all right, pretty good but not grand or great. I was very pissed off to see all the old familar villains in the race being reduced to mute, non speaking roles.

And while I loved seeing Red X again and Starfire's bizarre love of chickens, there's only so much lame beatnick dialouge a person can take.

Medikor 08-03-2007 01:32 PM

Simpsons. The one where Milhouse's parents get back together and he and Bart try to stop them. Milhouse never fails to make me laugh.8D

Mr. Marshmallow 08-06-2007 01:10 PM

Law and Order: Thrill

Yeah I know, no surprise here what I watch on my days off. Either way this episode truly rocked my world. Really dark stuff and some serious issues here, it was about 2 young teens who murdered a delivery boy simply for thrills.

Hence the name. It was a much older episode and I personally dislike the character of Nick Falco before Ed Green came onto the show but still, it was an amazing episode.

frankie_fan 08-07-2007 08:07 PM

Inspector Gadget - The Japanese Connection

A classic episode for a classic show. I remember seeing those ninjas (or The Welcoming Committie as Gadget called them), always head butting each other!! 8D They still make me laugh!

Flash Gordon

Good Lord, I've never even seen the original and I feel disappointed by the unfaithfulness of this update of sci-fi classic. No spaceships, an unthreatening Ming, an overabundance of Canadian scenery, and actors that were so wooden they make Keanu Reeves cry. I mean they delivered their lines in such a monotone they could put David Duchovny to sleep.

One can hope they improve the show as time passes, but I wouldn't hold out hope. If they cancel the show this Friday perhaps we could have a good reboot in 5 years.

yeah, i was dissapointed as heck as well.

Maybe a John Carter of Mars series?

AerostarMonk 08-14-2007 07:36 AM

As everyone knows a John Carter movie is in the works over at Disney. Rumor has it that Brad Bird is attached. I've got my eye on this one.

Last show I watched was the latest offering from Film Roman Animation, Slacker Cats. Pretty much a ribald Garfield. That doesn't mean it didn't get a few laughs out of me. After the forced laughter of such shows as Trippin' the Rift and Lil' Bush, this was a welcome relief. The fact that some of the lines are acutally quotable such as, "Living inside a corpse is kinda horrible." "Yes, but neither of us could have forseen that," warrants at least a second look in my opinion.

One problem I had with the show was the scheduling. It was on for a full hour, but it was just the premiere and an encore. An oddity for a midseason replacement. Usually a full hour means premiere followed by the second episode and repeats start the following week. The only reason I bring this up is that it seems that they only have a small number of episodes in the can. Possibly less than the usual 12 episode season.

Anyway, in a sea of reality junk and 80 hour marathons of people making fun of Flava Flav, you can do a lot worse than this. Give it a watch. I give it a B+.

JCOM is back on?

Geez, i thought they ditched the flick again? Wait, its Disney? :-X that sucks

AerostarMonk 08-14-2007 09:50 AM

Not especially. Pixar may be the one behind this. One of the rumors circulating is that this will be Pixar's first live-action film. With their philosophy of story first, profit later, we should have a bang-up JCOM film.

Even if it was to fall into the hands of Disney they are willing to take more chances lately. After Pirates, they're willing to risk budgets on films that aren't PG and market them under their own brand instead of Touchstone or Hollywood. Don't get too down. Every geek knew that no one was going to let an R-rated John Carter get to the silver screen.

Partymember 08-14-2007 07:33 PM

yeah, in the books everyone ran around nearly naked. I seriously doubted they would have an entire movie where everyone was in the buff, but the outfits need to be suitably skimpy.

JCOM could either be a light-hearted adventure story or (ideally) one where John Carter literally wades through gore with sword and pistol in hand hunting for Dejah Thoris. It could go either way, but i feel they are leaning towards "light-hearted". Shame. JCOM could have been a cross between "Barbarella" and "300".

Cassini90125 08-19-2007 06:33 PM

Foster's, "Seeing Red". I was looking for a particular screencap; after I found it, I stopped to watch. Always good to see Red again. ;D

astro boy- grass boy

pretty good episode, nice plot, all that jazz. astro boy is one of my favorite shows now btw :)

Medikor 08-20-2007 12:44 PM

After reading SGYDK's last post, I had to go watch that old episode of Astro Boy where that robot "Bruton" battles the strongest robots in the world. I forgot how good that show was. :D

AerostarMonk 08-20-2007 12:51 PM

I tried watching Astro Boy and I just can't seem to get into it. I dunno what it is. I think it might be that I'm annoyed by the voices and overall silliness. It doesn't seem to have the natural balance that Gigantor has.

Knowing the origin of this show I know this is borderline blasphemous to many, but I don't know what to say.

Cassini90125 08-20-2007 06:57 PM

Sailor Moon, Episodes 13-15. Episode #14 (#11 in the English version) was where I really started to get into the series; it fully introduced us to Nephlite, who I thought was a more intense and compelling villian than Jedite. We also meet Zoycite, who is a male in the original Japanese version but is given a female voice in the English dub. I remember what's coming up in the next several episodes, specifically the relationship between Nephlite and Molly, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing it all again. It was a very compelling storyline.

Transformers G1 Season 1 A Plague of Insecticons. I love this show! And I just had an urge to dig out my season 1 dvd set to watch the insecticons in action. I never really cared for them as a kid in the 80's, but I've grown to find their antics almost cute. 8D

Medikor 08-22-2007 06:39 AM

FANatical. Particularly the one about Transformers fans. Those guys have such huge collections. I'm so jealous. 8D

Mr. Marshmallow 08-22-2007 06:08 PM

Code Monkeys: Super prison breakout

I had heard about this show and it looked like a unique idea but I never paid it much attention. Thankfully I was happy to be proved wrong and see this show finally, it was HILARIOUS!

It's like Family guy humor mixed in with video games, pretty accurate depictions too. The content is not as dark and dirty as Drawn Together but it's pretty close and REALLY funny. I highly recommend checking it out.

Medikor 08-23-2007 03:00 PM

Colbert Report. Now he has an air bus named after him! "Air Colbert". 8D

antgirl1 08-26-2007 06:28 PM

Futurama. :D

WiltFan 08-26-2007 06:47 PM

Just watched 7 hours of Courage the Cowardly Dog. =D Gotta love that pink dog. "The things I do for love..."

AerostarMonk 08-26-2007 07:02 PM

I did that today as well. I love that show to death. Simply one of the best shows of this decade in my opinion.

frankie_fan 08-29-2007 07:32 PM

Spicks & Specks

It was a movie edition (I just had to tape it! 8D) and featured guests Emily Browning (Violet Baudelaire) and Bill Hunter (famous Australian actor, who was the voice of the dentist on Finding Nemo).

Cassini90125 08-30-2007 06:37 PM

Sailor Moon. Episode #24. I'm feeling a little choked up right now. If you ever saw the episode, you know why. Knowing what was coming didn't make any difference.

floppynoodleson666 08-30-2007 06:47 PM

Arthur (that kids show on PBS)
the episodes were "Do you speak George/World Girls"
I am dork for watching Arthur, sure, but it is a good show. although both of those episodes kind of sucked. Still, a good show.

One Radical Dude 08-30-2007 08:30 PM

Watching a bit of "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" (yes, for those that watch Hell's Kitchen, it's that Gordon Ramsay) on BBC America (a US version is coming up next month). Ramsay goes to failing restaurants to try to do what he can to improve everything within a week. Like Hell's Kitchen, there is profanity in this one.

I like Arthur too! And some other PBS Kids cartoons, one of which is Maya and Miguel. Candi does the voice of Maya. ;) :mfoster: :cheese: And also Curious George, in which Grey does a guest voice. :goo: >:( She's not in every episode, though.

I don't catch many PBS Kids cartoons much anymore though because I'm always at work. But I've liked Arthur since its debut in '96. I feel it's getting old now, though, and Marc Brown is running out of ideas. Yup, the episode you mentioned is one of the newer ones. Perhaps it's time for him to hang up his hat.

As for what I'm watching right now, the local news. Blech...

Medikor 08-31-2007 08:29 AM

PBS kids shows are great! I don't really watch them though. The only one that I really watched was Sahgwa the Chinese Siamese Cat because it was so cute.

Medikor 09-01-2007 09:21 AM

Andre Rieu: The Homecoming on PBS. This guy really manages to bring a world of fun to his performances. I always love coming across his shows on PBS when I'm flipping through stations. :D

Lynnie 09-01-2007 11:34 PM

Yeah, I don't understand why so many people seem to think PBS is lame. I think it's cool. Not just the kids shows, but the nature and science shows, and the concerts. I've also watched Andre Rieu and enjoyed it. I also love Celtic Women and Sarah Brightman. They're awesome!

As to what I'm watching right now, it's good 'ol SNL. Bjork just sang and......what in tar nation is she wearing? It's a dress made from like a pixelized mercury, and it's reflecting every light in the studio, flashing every color of the rainbow. It's strange and odd and cool, I like it! ;)

Ccook50 09-02-2007 09:25 AM

The Georgia Tech/Notre Dame football game yesterday. Tech won, 33-3, but the talk of the weekend is still Appalachian State upsetting Michigan, 34-32.

montitech 09-02-2007 11:47 AM

PBS has some good things, but it really depends on where you live,

I recieve both Buffalo and Toronto PBS and to be honest, I prefer the Toronto version, the show selection and kid shows I think are better, except for teletubies and barny since I dispise both of them. This summer PBS played several great classic BW stories.

Last TV show I watched was "the Prisoner" I just finish watching the last disk, I rented the series. I thnk it was a great show, and the ending (last 2 shows) was a regular trip down the rabbit hole.
which is a great way to end a suspence/action series.

Monti :-/

8D 8D 8D .

Last show I saw on PBS was NOVA. It was an update on the activities of the Mars landers, but that was some time ago. PBS has some very good programming but it depends on what you're looking for; NOVA and Nature are my favorites. We get two PBS stations here and their schedules are often the same. Unfortunately, While the show may be the same on both the actual episode may be different, and TV Guide has never bothered to mention which station's listings they're carrying. I'm not sure they know or care. Makes viewing a bit of a crapshoot sometimes. >:(

The Office - The Convention

I finally got the chance to see this show with Steve Carell, and I was impressed. Steve was great. I really should purchase Season 1 and 2 on DVD when I get the chance.

You REALLY should  it's one of the greatest and funniest shows on television (or at least I think so).

Medikor 09-04-2007 01:27 PM

Colbert Report. It looks like he'll be on vacation for another week. Probably because he would have physiotherapy or something.

Mr. Marshmallow 09-05-2007 12:58 PM

Kim Possible: All the News

Not really one of my favorite episodes but with a show this wonderful, it's hard not to get sucked into it, specially with the "Every Possible episode" marathon Disney has going for Kim Possible's sad but amazingly well done finale.

I loathe the fact Disney is letting (in my eyes) the greatest modern show they have ever made slip through their fingers, but at least they are giving Kim the grand finale she rightly deserves and are giving her a proper send off.

Ccook50 09-05-2007 03:51 PM

Actually it's because he and Jon Stewart take two weeks off for Labor Day.

Last show I watched is Cops on Court TV.
