Anyhow, more great pics, Cass. I can't wait to see the video. ;D |
This is not the video I mentioned above, which features one of the Foster's characters acting like an idiot (and very much in character, I might add). No, this 14-second clip shows what happens when you install a newly downloaded house and the mesh files for the windows either don't install or aren't included:

Foster's Valley - The house next door
Earlier in the thread there's a pic of the Never Forgotten house and some of the houses nearby. To the immediate left of the NF house is a small, unremarkable dwelling which I didn't identify. Well, it's time to meet the neighbors: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...i90125/CCA.jpg Hiya, Cheese! The official mascot of Hot Topic stares vacantly at the TV, engrossed by what looks like a pair of gnomes arguing over a shrub. Sim TV's get six different channels, each with 3-4 different programs, but unfortunately their programming isn't any better than ours. They get commercials, too. In the background Louise practices painting, not for any particular reason other than because it's fun, and off to the side her overworked and slightly cranky mom Barbara gets lunch ready: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...i90125/CCB.jpg On the menu: grilled cheese. All sorts of ways to interpret that. This being Day One at the house, the Welcome Wagon showed up while she was cooking and Cheese greeted everyone, including one familiar face: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...i90125/CCC.jpg I saw Sparky coming down the sidewalk and thought to myself, "Sparky is going into the House of Cheese. I'll be apologising for this for months." As it turned out she actually liked the little dimwit; unfortunately I couldn't get a decent pic of them talking because the rest of the Welcome Wagon got in the way. Eh, these things happen. She commandeered the swings for awhile, then it was time to head inside and solve one of FHFIF's greatest mysteries: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...i90125/CCD.jpg Sparky: "Louise, what the heck were you thinking when you created him??" Louise: "I dunno. He just kind of came that way." So much for my "Nyquil" theory. Shortly after that the other two members of the Welcome Wagon got bored with the swings and came inside, and here we see Bjorn Gustafsen trying to give Dmitri Chalkovich a big hug: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...i90125/CCE.jpg Which Dmitri does not appreciate: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...i90125/CCF.jpg Oddly enough, a few days later when I played a different house, all three of them showed up as the Welcome Wagon there, too, and Bjorn tried the same thing, and got the same result. I'll give him credit for being friendly, if nothing else. I think his wife Ingrid is starting to wonder about him, though. While this was going on, the clock hit 4:00 pm and that meant someone was due to walk by the house, and sure enough, someone did: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...i90125/CCG.jpg You don't know her, nor do you want to. Her name is Samantha, and of all the residents in the Valley that Cheese could have chosen to irritate, this one should be near the bottom of the list. She's a native of the area, like Sparky, and Sparky was not happy to see her: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...i90125/CCH.jpg She spent the rest of the evening avoiding the girl and being polite but distant when she couldn't. Barbara, of course, didn't know her and didn't have any qualms about disagreeing or arguing with her: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...i90125/CCI.jpg Eventually Samantha left, and Sparky decided that she ought to explain a few things to Barbara, and maybe the rest of the newcomers, too, before they got themselves into some serious trouble. Barbara didn't really care: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...i90125/CCJ.jpg "Look, Ms. Read, I don't care about any of this. I'm not afraid of some sullen teenage girl or her family, I don't know anyone named Band-whatever or McBride, and I don't care about the stupid Piano or the dark sun or any of the other weird crap you're talking about. I just wanna raise my kid, get her off to college, and keep her Imaginary Friend from messing up my house. If I can find a rich boyfriend while doing all that, good for me. Kapish?" Well, that went well. And so the plot thickens, such as it is, here in the northwest part of Foster's Valley. The part where a riddle called the Piano remains unsolved, where a dark sun waits on the horizon, where a priceless treasure remains unclaimed. Where the Bandrowsky family reigns supreme. Stay tuned... (Okay, that was a lot heavier than what I'd originally planned. Light-hearted comedy video after y'all have commented on all this weird stuff. [crosseyed Bloo smilie goes here]). |
Hahaha ha, oh my. Bjorn is the guy who wants to be Mayor one day, right? Looks like he's trying a bit too hard in making friends. There's a time and place for hugs, and there's a time and place to NOT hug. He's got a lot to learn, doesn't he? ::)
What's wrong with Samantha? Is she a spoiled brat who expects her way, and likes to argue with everyone? Ugh... I like her outfit, though. Too young for me personally, but it looks nice on her. I still wish I can pull that belt look off myself. Eh well. Heh, poor Sparky. Having to deal with weirdos and then getting yelled at when she's just trying to help. *sigh* I'm sure she looked forward to coming back home. I wouldn't blame her. Keep 'em comin' Cass! Enjoying it immensely! :D |
I don't really follow some of the stuff that's going on in your Sims' saga Cass, but I probably wouldn't get it all even if it were explained.
And for the record, I often like real-life annoying little kids, lol. As for Sims that are very "huggy": when I first made my Self-Sim I made her more outgoing and funloving but after observing her behavior for a while I brought some of the values down to make her more realistic. I don't go around trying to hug every person I meet in real life (although I've certainly known people who do) - and I'm Italian. ;) But originally my Self-Sim was like that. That's why the Beetlejuice in my game hates Sim-Sparky now, because she tried to hug him and it freaked him out. She probably loved his suit. :D |

Coco is like that, too, always has been. Her favorite "huggee" is Mr. Herriman. ;) ........ And now, I believe I mentioned something about a video not too long ago. One word of caution; it's mildly gross. It's funny as hell, though, at least I thought so. Unlike most of my videos this one has sound... which adds to the gross factor. Anyway, here's Cheese, starring in "I eat, therefore I poot". :wiltshock:  8D |
This is a really cool story you have Cass. I am still working on my stats - no, I will not blow this off. I will have them done come hell or high water!

Glad you all enjoyed the video. For the record, he threw up about five minutes later.
Foster's Valley - New pics that have nothing to do with the Piano, the Dark Sun, or the story in general In other words, random pics from around town. We begin with the big cat himself, Blake Superior: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...90125/2r01.jpg This is something else I've been meaning to make a video of. When Blake gets going on the couch, he goes all out, bouncing all over the place, doing backflips, and laughing and yelling "Woohoo!" the whole time. Richie Wildebrat thinks it's funny; I'm not sure what his parents think. But as long as he keeps getting Aspiration Points for it, I'll keep letting him do it. Sparky at work: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...90125/2r02.jpg It's early Tuesday morning at the Never Forgotten house. Sparky has just logged onto the Forum and is absolutely delighted. Why? Three possibilities: #1: Grey Delisle has registered as a new member. #2: Her favorite moderator has just logged in. #3: No one double posted. My money is on #3. She's baaaaack: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...90125/2r03.jpg Some of you may remember Carmel Delicious from much earlier in the thread and Bloo's antics following her visit to his house. She still has a temper, still swears like a sailor, and on her first trip to the mall she grabbed Coco and gave her an atomic noogie. No reason, she just felt like it. Before the SecuROM incident, Carmel had gone to the University and was studying to become a law enforcement agent. Now she's a teen again, and a belligerent teen, too. She's fun. Rhonda Cassiman gets wet: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...90125/2r04.jpg At the time I was playing Derek Monroe, who is hidden behind Grace Horvath, who is busy hurling the water balloon. Much to my surprise, Rhonda got into the spirit of things and the two of them spent the next hour whipping water balloons at each other. I don't know, maybe Bloo's insane playfulness is rubbing off on her. I wish I knew how they produce water balloons out of thin air; that would be a trick worth knowing. Uh-oh: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...90125/2r05.jpg Something you'd like to share with us, Lynnie? Ron Delmastro wandered into the Commandgo Emporium clothing store, looked at Lynnie, and the hearts popped up. They chatted, they liked each other, and that was about it. Ron's destiny lies elsewhere, if I did my job right, but this sort of thing is something we'll likely have to have a Serious Conversation about eventually. Not to worry; I have things worked out and under control. Mostly. Kip Bratman goes dancing: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...90125/2r06.jpg Kip and his wife Buffy, the parents of Sweetums the bratty little girl in House Of Bloo's, called the Wildebrat residence on Day One and invited Blake Superior to join them for a night on the town. It was a fun night, too, and as you'll see later, it had one very touching moment. This obviously wasn't it. Kip had a grand time but alas, dancing is not one of his strong points, as was evident by the other Sims pointing and laughing. In the old Valley, Kip had dreams of someday becoming a major crime lord and used to sneak out of the mansion to run numbers and rob an occasional bank; after surviving the passage through F: he forgot that dream, along with most of his other memories, just like everyone else. Now his goal in life is to play professional tennis and win the U. S. Open. The Valley Pest confuses Frankie: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...90125/2r07.jpg Gabe and his family are part of the Valley's sizable Hungarian minority, along with Our Miss Fomalhaut and Wendywild13. He was a pest in the old part of the Valley and here in the northwest section he is still a pest. I don't know what he was talking about at the time; apparently, neither did Frankie. Gabe wandered around the mall, hit on several of the girls there, got shot down by all of them, and went home and took a nap. Someday, if all goes as planned, Terrence will beat him up. Miss Tiffany Bratman, Imaginary Friend: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...90125/2r08.jpg When I first began creating the Foster's Sims, I had wondered what would happen if Sweetums Bratman eventually succeeded in creating an Imaginary Friend of her own. Up popped Tiffany, here with different hair and clothes than before; both an improvement, in my opinion. Seen here learning about cleaning techniques, Tiffany is very different from her creator, shy, sweet, and likable, unlike the miserable brat who created her. When you create an Imaginary Friend, do you get what you want, or what you need? In this case I think it's the latter. We'll see if Tiffany can change Sweetums for the better. Robert Burnell meets Goo Googaga: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...90125/2r09.jpg He looks at the camera and you can almost hear him saying, "Please, Simmaster, either send me home or make the child shut up!" Robert was on the Welcome Wagon And lastly, the touching moment I mentioned earlier: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...90125/2r10.jpg Doesn't look like much; just Blake Superior having a chat with the New Guy. Blake had been in the restaurant for maybe 20 minutes or so when the New Guy showed up. The New Guy looked around, surveying the scene, spotted Blake, seemed to hesitate for a moment, and went right up to him and started the conversation. Blake, for his part, interrupted his dinner to talk to him, something Sims very rarely do. So? SecuROM and file corruption destroyed much of their memories; passing through F: took care of the rest. Blake Superior and the New Guy don't remember each other, don't know that they were once best friends. Yet of the 20 or so Sims in the restaurant that night, several of which were standing much closer to him, the New Guy singled out Blake Superior to talk to. And Blake interrupted his dinner to respond. It's as if on some level, somewhere beyond memory, they know that once upon a time, in a place they can't recall, they were the best of friends, but somehow that friendship was lost. And they want it back. It's for moments like this that I play the game. |
Boy Cass, I do not blame you for enjoying those moments with that game. I just like the characters, and the situations.
|
*gasp* Lynnie's got secrets. Uh-oh indeed, lol. 8D Isn't Ron the "example" you gave when showing us what info you needed if we wanted to participate? He does seem like a nice guy, I can see how she might be attracted to him. I'm curious now to see where this may lead. :groovyed: No worries, I trust you'll keep things from getting too out of hand.
Aww, Tiffany looks sweet. Even the way she's looking at the "camera", I almost want to give her a peck on the forehead. :-* She's learning some cleaning techniques? What a good girl. That's awesome about Blake and New Guy. They have a connection outside their (or apparently your) knowledge. Hopefully they'll become the best of friends again. |

A very brief tale from the micro mall with two random Forum members and Terrence X_dummkoff_x and Imaginary Light turned up at the mall recently: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/T0101.jpg This pic was taken at the mall salon, which gets used as something of a hangout by a lot of people. I'm not sure what they were chatting about; I think it was money, based on the images in their speech balloons. It's a common topic; taxes are higher in this section of the Valley than they were in the old part, so money is a concern for all. While they were discussing financial matters, this guy entered the mall: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/T0102.jpg Terrence, hungry from arguing with Bloo earlier, headed straight for the mall grill and got to work. Hot dogs are the only thing he knows how to cook at the moment; hamburgers require a few more skill points. While Terrence happily grilled away, our ladies looked out the salon window: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/T0103.jpg "OMG. Is that... it is him! I can't believe he's here! It's... it's Checo Ramirez!!! OMGOMGOMG SQUEEEEE!!!" Yep, live in person at the Foster's Valley Micro Mall, Checo Ramirez, the man who beat up Duchess. Like Terrence, ol' Checo was a bit hungry, and he was more than happy to dine with young Mr. Cassiman: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/T0104.jpg The two of them really don't have much in common but they seemed to get along pretty well. Checo, for those of you who are interested, owns a furniture store in nearby Bluewater Village. He's married and has a young daughter. Terrence... well, you already know him. He's got a thread with his name on it around here somewhere. After lunch, Checo headed for home and Terrence went to the employee break room of the robotics shop to watch a little TV. X_dummkoff_x soon joined him: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/T0105.jpg And inquired as to his opinion on the issues of busing and public transportation. Terrence, somewhat confused, replied that he preferred to sit in the back, where the driver is less likely to see what he's doing. The two of them hit it off rather nicely. Imaginary Light was not pleased with this, and made her displeasure known: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/T0106.jpg "You talked with Terrence? You talked with the guy who had lunch with Checo Ramirez and didn't include me!?!? I HATE YOU!!! ARRRRRGH!!!" Out came the pillows; they walloped each other for two hours and them went home to tell the rest of the Never Forgotten house that they saw Checo Ramirez live in person at the mall. :D The moral of the story: Beat up Duchess and everybody will love you. Except Duchess. >:( Stars, they're going to kill me for this one. 8D |
Um, wow. Sims really do just whip pillows out of thin air, don't they?8D
|
I liked these new pics :D A lot, actually! It's for those "moments" you mentioned I play the game as well...

A couple of things before I get to the pics. First, a reminder that I'm waiting on info from some of you before the next house goes up. Ignate is ready to install, Invader Bloo needs a body (I'm not working from a pic in his case), and I need personality data from Antgirl1 & Duck2k. After I get all that, we're good to go. Secondly, and more important, y'all may have noticed that some of you have been getting more on-screen time than others. This is purely by chance, nothing more. The game seems to like using Sparky for the Welcome Wagon so she pops up more often than most, and is in the next pic set, too. For the record, the game uses Amanda Blue the most (in the old Valley, that distinction went to Fomalhaut's dad). The game also seems to use some of y'all as walkbys and mall customers etc. more than others but this too is due to random chance. Fair? Probably not. However, while I very rarely intervene in such things I do have hacks available that allow me to do pretty much whatever I please, one of which is a summoning hack. So, if there's any particular goal you'd like to accomplish, or any particular Sim you'd like to meet (Foster's character or otherwise), or whatever, really, all you need to do is let me know and I'll get right to it. After all, we all like a little attention. Foster's Valley - Center Of Attention Then there's those of us who like a lot of attention: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK01.jpg "Hiya, everyone! I am Blooregard Q. Kazoo, the greatest, bestest, most amazingest Imaginary Friend ever! I'm hip, I'm rad, I'm super hot and icy chill, I'm the Total Package! Everyone loves me! I'll prove it, too; watch me now as I charm the papergirl!" http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK02.jpg Yeah, that went well. After Bloo failed to get a free newspaper from Amy, Terrence came out of the house and told Bloo to quit being a pest: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK03.jpg "Mom can still change her mind and send you back to that freaky weirdo house with all those, uh, freaky weirdos, y'know. She should've left you there anyway!" Terrence has never been too thrilled about having Bloo back in the house. For those of you who haven't read about it on the old Forum, the story is that Rhonda moved her family from the Pacific Northwest to Foster's Valley in pursuit of her dream of getting into the baseball Hall of Fame; she allowed Bloo back in the house so that Mac would have at least one friend in the new neighborhood. What she didn't know at the time was that Madame Foster and co. were also moving to the Valley (for tax reasons as I recall). Terrence and Bloo do get along better than they used to, but not by much. Undaunted by his failed attempt to charm Amy, Bloo, bored as usual, went inside in search of something to do. He stopped to examine Rhonda's new china cabinet: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK04.jpg "Bloo! Get away from there right now!!!" she yelled from the next room. Probably worried that Mr. Destructo and his evil pal Breaky might soon be making another appearance. Can't say that I blame her. Still in need of entertainment, Bloo soon found one of the family's computers (they have two) and in a short time discovered the wonders of the internet: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK05.jpg One of those wonders was a certain Forum, which he immediately registered on and soon began happily posting away. I didn't have room for the pics but at the time, Rhonda was on the other computer seeking work, Mac was studying, and Terrence was bouncing on a couch in another room. It was quite a busy morning in the Cassiman house. Rhonda, incidentally, found a job at a local law firm; this was perfect for her, as her new goal in life is to become a big-time lawyer. Like so many who survived the passage through F:, her dreams were changed, and she no longer has much interest in baseball. Morning soon became afternoon, and it being Day One at the Cassiman house, that meant a visit from the Welcome Wagon was imminent: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK06.jpg Yep, it's Dmitri, Bjorn, and Sparky again. Sparky arrived with a particularly determined look on her face, clearly on a mission; the other two just looked sullen, not happy to be doing this again. In the pic, Dmitri is reading Bjorn the riot act: "Stop trying to hug people, you lunatic!" To which Bjorn responded, "But people need hugs! Did you not hug over in Russia?" Dmitri growled and turned on the TV. Sparky rolled her eyes and left them, explored the house, and finally got to meet Terrence: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK07.jpg Happily, they hit it off very well. I love it when Forum Sims and their favorite Foster's characters like each other. As a matter of fact, I haven't seen any real disagreements between members and characters anywhere in the Valley, at least among those who have met. More to come on that subject, no doubt. Rhonda eventually got around to serving lunch, and Sparky's mission became known: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK08.jpg Sparky: "So, Bloo, you registered on my Forum earlier today, right? Did you read the rules?" Bloo: "I looked at 'em. Can I be a mod? I'd be really good at it! What does a mod do, anyway?" Sparky: "I'm sorry, we don't have any openings. You know, you don't really need to use 68 smilies in every post." Bloo: "You should have more smilies of me, they're the best ones!" Sparky: "Um, yeah. Now about double posting-" Bloo: "I don't do that. Look at my post count! I only made one post today!" Sparky: "You made twelve. One of my staff merged them and left a bewildered note in the office." Bloo: "I didn't do it! I did not did not double post, I did not do what you hate most, I do not like green eggs and ham, I promise that I won't post spam." At which point everyone did their best not to laugh, and Rhonda nearly died of embarassment. Mac, in the next room, shook his head and sighed, but he smiled while he did it. He later tried to explain Bloo to Sparky: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK09.jpg "I dunno, he's always been like that. He's been better this last year; maybe he's growing out of it." Not too likely, Mac. Somehow, I think Bloo will always be Bloo. 8-) Up next: a few more pics to finish up Day One at the Cassiman house. |
Lolz. You know if I could I'd go to the house of everyone who registers so I could ask them in person: "Did you read the rules??" 8D
And I honestly believe that if Terrence was real and I met him I'd want to kick his punk heiney. :slybendy: But honestly I bet the only reason my Sim likes to be part of the Welcome Wagon is so she can bogart some free food... |

Concluding Day One at the Cassiman house... Having been assurred by Sparky that Bloo was not in immediate danger of getting banned for double posting, Mac told Bloo that all was well, and the boys went outside to play: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK10.jpg They spent some time trying to impress each other by doing handstands, then ran around the yard playing cops and robbers. I leave it to you all to guess who played the robber. Inside, Rhonda flirted a bit with Dmitri: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK11.jpg Partly because she seems to genuinely like him, and partly to get him in a better mood so he wouldn't beat the crap out of Bjorn, who had tried to give him a friendly hug again. I wonder about thay guy. The Welcome Wagon has yet to show up at their respective houses; I think it would be hilarious if the game made them greet each other. Later in the day Rhonda got the call for the optional trip Downtown, which she took; her destination of choice was Bernard's Botanical Dining, a fine restaurant renowned for it's exotic vegetarian fare and rare imported teas and wines. Rhonda got the pork chops and coffee. She wasn't here for the meal, no; she came for the bubble blower: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK12.jpg Maxis included this weird thing in the University pack because they couldn't add what college students really do in their free time and keep the game's "T" rating. They sit around the dang thing for endless hours, blowing bubbles, giggling, floating, and having a really high time, if you know what I mean, all while the thing plays "Pop Goes The Weasel" on a sitar. You're not fooling anybody, Maxis. Back home, Terrence entertained his guests: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK13.jpg Sparky had been dining as well but headed upstairs to play with the game console. While she'd been there the conversation had been largely about food, sports, and other general topics; after she was out of the room, and out of hearing range, the talk at the table turned immediately to another subject: The Loved & The Loveless. Not that any of them will admit that they watch the show. Because they don't. Really. No, seriously, they've never seen it. Uh-uh. So, how 'bout those Mets, eh? Dinner ended and, based on their common interest in a show that neither of them watches (really, never heard of TL&TL), Bjorn tried again to give Dmitri a big bear hug, and this time Dmitri nearly twisted his arms off: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK14.jpg That looks more than a little painful. Bjorn retreated, straightened out his arms, and decided that Sparky was better, and safer, company: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK15.jpg "Why does he push me away?" Bjorn lamented. "I seek only bonding and friendship with the man, but he will not let me in. Is his heart so hardened that he fears to connect with his fellow man?" Sparky said she'd have a talk with him. And in the final act of the evening's drama, she approached Dmitri and said, "Dmitri, you need to lighten up. You're too uptight, too serious, and that's just not right. You've gotta let people in, not shut everyone out. And I know exactly how to loosen you up. Dmitri, it's time for you to learn the value of... http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/BQK16.jpg ...playtime!!!" 8D 8D 8D |

I played the Marville house the other night for the first time. The New Guy resents it when I send him out to spray the orchard trees, and Stevie and Ivan are bonding very quickly, but nothing truly remarkable happened. Oh, there was, however, one minor bit of conflict between the members of the Welcome Wagon. Here we see Duchess hurling insult after unprovoked insult at Madame Foster: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/MFvD1.jpg And Madame Foster's reaction to this vicious verbal attack: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/MFvD2.jpg Yeah.
