Wow, how many were there? Anyway that's a relief that they made it. They were still on their way last time I saw it. The Animals of Farthing Wood was very similar to a story on Jackanory some years before with the main differences being that the animals were led in the older story by a mouse and the whole thing ended rather depressingly. Both stories had a Snake in the gang, though. There was Captain Beaky as well of course. I suspect that the story of a de-facto truce between different types of animals in the face of a greater threat from the outside probably reoccurs frequently in human culture, demonstrating how unity forged from diversity of forms and abilities is what allows communities to prevail. Maybe it's time for a Farthing Wood movie. Discuss.

Any gum that came with free stickers (or vice versa) was completely inedible in my day. I do remember the animals of Farthing Wood though. Did they ever find anywhere to live? I think Farthing Wood is now a service station and retail complex on the M2 somewhere.

It's a very long thin sandwich if indeed that's what it is. It's not is it? I'm sure he had a sandwich once. I think my memory might be messed up. Nice to see they're still fleecing those young 'uns though.

It's a shame we don't get raccoons and skunks but we don't and that is that. Unless they moved the story over the Atlantic ( there are precedents) then those delightful b&w furry pals should stay out of our movies!

I used to get Panini albums too and waste all my money on stickers. Only my fascinating ones were all football related so I'd have hundreds of these pictures of ugly grinning footballers. Did Panini still have that logo? It used to really bug me as a kid; is that knight holding a sandwitch? Of course, I now realise that's what a Panini actually is. Hey, maybe Panini just made up the name Kipper to fill in a blank space in their recap.

lol! How did you find out then what Kip was called? Scrutinizing the credits, one supposes. Did they keep the songs in live action re-make of Jungle Book? It's hard to see how it would work as well but a Jungle Book movie would be a rather empty experience without them, surely?

I think Cruella did the job, despite her terrible giveaway name. I've never seen the movie but I gather they actually wiped out the lead female dalmatian (not in the gangster sense obviously) making it Pongo and Perdita instead. So maybe it was Pongo's original partner who most irked you. The bit I remember that annoyed me was when the dogs are trying to tell the stupid humans what county the puppies are in and nearly make themselves understood. I'm sure you remember. It definately would not have worked if Cruella had taken them to Lanarkshire.

Most Spaniels are on my good dog list. Most dogs are. I especially love it when they shake hands with you. Of course before broadband and dial-up, the internet itself was run entirely via dogs. Have you ever read 101 Dalmatians by Dodie Smith? If so, you'll know what I mean.
