Lol, I'll try to. Thanks for telling us, that was nice! :)

Darn it! Somebody PLEASE make a screen cap of this, since I'll be at work, with no access to a television at that time, and I really would love to see the float! I am very likely to sleep until 11 or so on Thanksgiving Day(we have a rather late Thanksgiving dinner with our family, though it better not be TOO late, since I have a pressing engagement at 7:00 pm), so I'll probably miss the parade itself, sorry. Hey, I have to get up at 5 am every weekday, and I'm so not a morning person, so don't take it personally!

Somebody, watch and take pics! If possible, record? Sneak peeks are welcome to those who aren't in the USofA.

Wait, wait, wait...there's an "8:00 in the morning", you say? And people do things such as viewing television programs at this bizarre time? Intriguing... :o

I'm taping the show right now - they haven't gotten to the floats yet.

edit: they just showed a preview of the segment. Wilt! :D

Sparky

Okay the segment is over - I honestly don't think uploading a video is necessary because the camera never moved, so there's only one shot of the float anyways. However, the guy stood beside the Foster's float the entire segment, so it got some GOOD airtime for the Today show. It's the House, with Wilt standing in front (and that's all we could see). I'll get a screencap in a minute.

I expected Eduardo for some reason but I'll happily settle for the house. Did the Today crew say anything interesting about the show?

Well the guy DID "introduce" the float to the other reporters, by describing what the show was about, which is great press. Anyways I'm sure there will be more characters, they didn't show the entire float.

Okay there were two more shots than I thought I would get - from the abovementioned segment preview, when they did a closeup of Wilt. So here's all three:

The farthest-back shot (http://www.fosters-home.com/forum/myimages/floatprev3.jpg)

The reporter standing beside the float (http://www.fosters-home.com/forum/myimages/floatprev.jpg)

The closeup (http://www.fosters-home.com/forum/myimages/floatprev2.jpg)

Maybe they didn't want to make Wilt smile because of the tough time he's going to have in the movie airing the same day as the float. ;) It looks like he's listening to something.

(If these pics do anything evil to my bandwidth I'll have to move them to Imageshack or something. I dunno how many ppl are going to come here to look at them.)

If anyone does want to see a video of the segment, they have it up on the:MSNBC Website (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032633/)

(They'll probably have the video up for just the remainder of today though, so be quick.)

Just select "Today Show Video" and then click the link: "Turkey Day Parade Celebrates 80'th anniversary."

They do that in Disneyland don't they? Find young women who look like the fairy princesses 'n dress em up all nice. I'm sure they could find a Frankie somewhere.

Two things to tell "C" The Dragon:

1) There's no school on Thanksgiving, and
2) If you live in Detroit, forget about seeing the parade on WDIV-TV there.

I'm sure someone will record it, for those that miss it or have no access to watch the parade anywhere. Lauren mentioned on her Galaxy Girls blog that she would be viewing the parade in New York City, so she gets to see it up close. :)

I must be a party pooper because that made me groan aloud. :P See, *that's* the kind of thing that makes me steer clear of the MDP. I don't tolerate (that kind of) corn very well. :jk: Oh well, publicity is publicity, and this will become a childhood memory of our nation's future leaders, lol.

What I mean by that is, the tracks have already been recorded by the voice cast, and the live actors who'll be playing Mac and Frankie will be lip synching to the music. You know how they sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl? That stuff's pre-recorded.

11-19-2006, 05:16 AM
Eh, this can't be as cheesy as some of the stuff they did during the parades in the 1980's. You haven't lived until you've seen a person in a Scooby Doo costume...break dancing.

A break dancing Scooby-Doo? Haha, I don't remember that. 8D I don't expect this to be the cheesiest thing at the parade. :gooblab:

I groaned too. Somehow, I'm not really looking foward to that particular part. Oh well. Should be interesting nonetheless.

I am going to TRY to get it one way or the other. I also want to record the Foster's marathon on CN, but if you saw the "Craig Draws Wilt" bumper I uploaded you'll see how crappy my VCR has decided to become. My brother says he can get the marathon on his TiVo, and I'll designate my Media Center PC to get the parade (or perhaps we'll just do it the other way around) - that way I don't have to use my VCR at all. *Hopefully* I'll get everything I need that way.
