DC Comics' title Cartoon Network Block Party, where Foster's Home has been an occasional feature since issue #25, will end after issue #59 later this year. Sales was a reason, but also most of the features were entities no longer being produced or shown on TV.

:cry2: That's depressing. Why do they have to quit publishing comics about it because the show is ending? (not that I expect you to have the answer to that, of course). It's just not fair. :'(

Tis too bad. The occasional Foster's story had always been welcome, though I did have a feeling that, had the comic continued, Foster's itself would have gradually faded from the line-up, to tie in with the ending of the show. My guess is, Lynnie, that it's largely about profit, and what is considered to be most financially viable.

There were some good stories in that series, and not just the Foster's stories, either. Sad to see it end but I suppose it was inevitable. :bloosad:

The bad sales may have been because it was so difficult for me to find a copy... EVEN AT A COMIC BOOK STORE. Even though they say sales and most of the stories about past CN shows, I'm guessing the bad sales may have been due to poor distribution of the comic itself. The only bookstore in my area that had the comic was 12 minutes away from home. The comic book store that was a very short walk away didn't carry it. o.o

Right and I -always- had to special order it. :P

Well I need to get myself caught up on issues and get them posted I guess. Maybe when I'm not so poor. :bloobleh:

Heh, Warner/Cartoon Network should just rechristen it as a web comic, it would be good for the environment, lower overhead costs and bring more traffic to their websites.

Yes, that sounds like a perfectly logical plan to me. Why don't they do that? It's starting to seem like anyone who's not already an avid fan is just outright against the show and wants to forget about it. All the more reason it's making me mad. >:(

I digress, I did get to draw a Foster's story for the book--issue #35's "Block Rockin' Feats." It's quite tricky--Stephanie Gladden strongly advised using style guides--but I still wouldn't have missed the assignment for anything.

Hey Ccook, I have up to issue #45...so are the only Foster's issues I'm missing so far numbers 47, 53, and 55? I was just going by the topics here on this board. I want to catch up, and I have to special order them so I may as well order them all at once.

Yep, 47, 53 and 55 are the only other Foster's appearances after 45.
