Okay so I picked up a new webcam today and got it functioning. Now what I want is to set up one of those automatically-updating pages on my website with my webcam broadcasting live, at least when I'm online. But I'm confused as to how to do that. I tried a program called TimCam but it won't recognise the driver on my camera or something.

Does anyone know what I can do to get an online webcam going? Thanks.

I've never done one before. I would look around for similar programs that might do the job. Not sure if this is a good one (http://www.theill.com/conquercam/), but it may be worth looking into.

This (http://cowboyfrank.net/webcams/HowTo.htm) may help you, also. If not, at least I tried. ;)

I'm thinking now that there may be something wrong with my camera setup, or driver, because I encounter a problem (forcing the program in question to close) whenever I try to run a number of programs, including ConquerCam. :P So I'm off to my camera's tech support site, whee.

I figured out the problem, and installed ConquerCam, but all I get is a green screen (not video with too much green in it, but a solid green screen. Here's my online webcam:

So I'm working on it...

You must have checked it when I had the program turned off. It has an "offline" image".

The Sparkycam is back, btw; I decided to set my webcam up on my desktop computer in case I wanted to do video chat so I set it up to interface with my website. So maybe I'll have it on while I'm playing FusionFall. ;)

That was a mistake "privacy shade" image for when I'm afk. :/ I'm trying to fix it so it will show properly.

Thanks to Circuit City going out of business, I finally got the webcam I wanted today for less than I could get it anywhere else, including online. If you manage to catch me using it, again, the link is here (http://www.theneitherworld.com/webcam.htm). Next step is to buy the better webcam software, but that can wait a bit.

Yeah I'm on the laptop so I'm on the couch, there's a BJ beach towel hanging up behind the couch. (You can also see how messy the couch is thanks to Kiwi, lol.) When I use it on the desktop computer you can see down the hallway to the bedrooms so y'all might catch a glimpse of GM from time to time. ;)

For some reason the image is sharper in Firefox than IE, IE kinda digitizes it a bit. I can't figure out why. :P

For absolutely no reason I have brought back the Sparkycam (http://www.theneitherworld.com/webcam.htm). 8D

I guess I might leave it on when I'm working or something. If I can figure out a way to get the camera over there maybe I can point it at my embroidery machines when I'm making stuff, I dunno.
