View Full Version : Got any Pets?

This is very simple. If you have any pets or HAD any pets recently or ever at all, please state your pets name and what your pet is. Feel free to post pictures if you like and anything else you'd like to tell us about your pets.
I've HAD several pets and I currently only have one right now. I would post a picture up but I'm tired and I don't have alot of time to do it now so I'll save it for my next turn. I apologize for this.
So any volunteers to go first then?

I have a dog named Star, who is about ten-eleven years old. If I remember correctly, I named her star because she has black fur, and my little eight-nine year old brain associated that with stars. Thus, her name is Star.
I have three dogs. Daisy, a 13-14 year old black(now grey) Poodle with her full tail; Missy a 11 year old long haired white Chihuahua, and finally a 3 year old mixed breed dog named Rusty. Daisy is my mum's, Rusty is my dad's, and Missy is mine.
Then there's my aunt with her own Chihuahua, short haired sandy coloured 12 year old named Sandy.

I got a little light green and yellow parakeet who I named Mochi. (I was hungry, okay?) He's fat and jolly and noisy and is obsessed with eating paint off the windowsill, flying on peoples' heads, chasing the canary, and now, licking rubber.
And my canary is named Sunny D.
I like foodstuff, as you can probably tell.

I have a cute little weiner dog who is like, 9 years old. Her name is Abbey! She only has half of her tail because she was born with a severe kink in it (it looked like a perfect hook!) and it would hang on wire fences if she passed through them and sometimes on people's shoestrings. We knew if nothing changed, she'd eventually REALLY hurt herself by breaking her poor tail, so we took her to the vet and got the kinked part cut off. It's kinda cute, though!
I also have two snobby black kitties named Trapper and Victor.

I own a Shih Tzu dog named George, a teddy bear hamster named Patrick & have a 40 gallon fish tank with Fan Tail goldfish, Oranda Goldfish, Lionhead, Rykin Goldfish, a blue Betta, & Black Moor Goldfish.
This is a fun thread. I've enjoyed reading about everyone's pets. :)

I have a female australian shepherd that's gray and has big black spots; her name is Suzy. I also have a gray tabby named Abby. I'm not exactly sure of either of their ages. I'm thinking my cat is maybe 8-10 years old. As for my dog, I have no clue!

I can't even being to list, let alone name, my pets. Most of them are snakes and spiders, and don't have names, anyway. I've probably got close to 50 tarantulas at the present(but who'se counting, eh?), and around 15 snakes. I've got five cats-Buddy, Peanut Head, Nub, Marvin, Maggie, and way too many dogs, mostly Catahoula Leopard Dogs, one Pit Bull and one Mini Dachshund.

I've had quite a few pets in the past - hamsters, a mouse, rabbit, guinea pig, stick insects, fish... Now I have a Jack Russell terrier called Max. He's 10 years old and of the wire-haired variety and he just loves anything that squeaks! I've been wanting another pet for a long time now but my parents have been preventing me at the moment. I'd love to have some White's tree frogs and maybe rats when I have more time to spend with them. :D
I have loads of piccies of Max but they're all on the other PC. Here are some from my online photo album though!

I have a three year old dog I named him "stay." It was kind of funny when he was a puppy, because I would say ,"come here stay, come here stay!" He's a lot smarter, because when I do that now, he ignores me and keeps on typing.
Seriously, I had an Alaskan Malamute named Brutus.

I have a black kitty and her name is Lilian. She's 7 years old and she still thinks she's a kitten. She's known for random spazz attacks where she'll be all lazy-and-"leave-me-alone" one minute, and the next minute she's running across the kitchen sounding as heavy as an elephant. Oh, and she chases her tail quite often too. Here's a picture of her:

I have 1 dog 10 years old (she's a mutt), named Molly after a Taz's cousin from his old tv show. I had a cat that was 2 named JJ from a cartoon character from FAKE. And lastly I have a 7 month old cat named Sid Vicious, he is evil incarnate.

this may take a while..
ok, so ive had about 6 cats, monkey, died when i was about 4 or 5, then molly, which got hit by a car, then i had tiger, which i still have, and my mom accidently mistook some other cat that looked like tiger for tiger, but when we found out it wasnt, we kept it and named it buffy. then they had 2 kids, stripes and cobra, and one died and the other ran away. then buffy was being real.. uh, lets go with annoyingly evil. so we had to send him/her(dont think i ever figured out which it was, but im assuming it was a guy.) to the humane society.
and we also used to have alot of fish, but we got some bigger one that ate them all, so it died and we were kinda happy. then we got one of those fish that sucked all the algee from the tank, but it died. so we got another one. and about 6 goldfish.
and i also have a pet turtle. i used to have a diffrent one, but i lost it one day, so my mom and dad thought to replace it.

I keep pages for all my current pets here (http://www.theneitherworld.com/pets/index.htm).
I've also had a dog, many different kinds of fish, a newt, rats, a preying mantis, and parakeets. I've probably forgotten some. I've never had a cat.

This is the cat that lives in my house.
http://s127.photobucket.com/albums/p124/Lagoopine/?action=view¤t=DSCF0318.jpg
Her full name is Katrina Van Hoekstraaten and she kind of came with Greeny who I share the house with. Before she came the fish, frogs and little birds lived in perfect harmony with me but she soon changed that with her evil teeth and claws. We tried putting bells on her but she always gets rid of them somehow. There is some amusement value in fighting with her though and the way she pretends to like us at feeding time.
This was weird though, shortly after she moved in, a fatter and older version of herself turned up acting like it owned the place. We've not seen it since and it can't be a relative because she came from a long way away.

I currently have:
Rabbit - Thumper
Hamster - Barley (my sister's)
Guinea pig - Sweep (my brother's)
2 Goldfish - ? & ?
I used to have a guinea pig called Misty but she recently died :'( , so did my sisters who was called Ginger. I also had a big rabbit called Flash who was a really fast runner (>O.O> like that in my eyes), and my sister did have her own bunnie called Snowy.
I want a new guinea pig to live with Thumper. That would be cute.

I used to be BAD with pets. I took care of them and all, I just had really rotten luck with em. These are the past pets I have had, they died. But it's been a long time since I've had em:
2 Fish: Mikey and Don
6 birds: Roger, Pollyanne, Snowflake, Tweety, Butterscup and Sylvester
2 Gerbils: Scarf and Scarf 2 (original isn't it? :P)
1 turtle: Tank (he didn't die actually, he escaped)
Currently the pet and ONLY pet I plan on having is my loving and caring dog, Kinzie:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y65/Reaper969/NewBitmapImage.jpg
She's a terrier mix and she has 1 eye. She got hit by a car years ago when in the care of her previous owners, one of em said she looked ugly because her eye was still IN the socket but was biologically dead. So they gave her up.
Our whole family got her at the pound, had the eye removed and had the wound stitched up. It was either that or get a glass eye and that would cost money and we'd have to take it out and clean it. The eye would get infected if it stayed in anyway.
But aside from the one eye, she's the most loving and warm hearted dog I've ever met. She loves chewing up funny slippers like Looney toon ones, she's a begger and a sucker for belly rubs, she also likes to chase ground squirrels and rabbits. We got her when she was 3 and now she's 13.
I suck at math but the point is we've had her a LONG time. Also, you can barely notice she's missing an eye and she works fine without it, she's never liked bumped into walls or anything.

I currently have one dog, Miss Daisy May (http://www.dogster.com/pet_page.php?j=t&i=121317) a senior golden retriever/collie mix. We're guessing she's about 10-12 years old.
I had to put down my kitty this past summer, Mr. KoCo Beyn (http://www.catster.com/pet_page.php?i=121354&j=t) he was 13 :(
We are currrently looking for a breeder of a Swedish Vallhund, or a Papillon near where we live.
We can't have anymore cats because my eldest son is severly allergic to them, so when KoCo was put down he asked for a hermit crab. We got him 2 for his 8th birthday. He named them Chompers and Hermy.

I have four pets, 2 cats, 1 hamster, 1 guinea pig. I give all my pets full names, first names, middle names, and they all have the same last name as me (of course).
My first cat I've had for around four years, her name is Topper and she's a solid black cat with a spot of white hairs under her chin. She is afraid of other people, and whenever someone knocks on the door she runs, but she's always there to greet me at the front door along with my other cat. She's not the nicest of cats, what with the way she is snobby and all (and she hates other cats), but she is quite bright, and is always very proper, if you will.
My next cat is named Sibby, while her full name is Sibbenshire. She’s less than a year and was born on Valentines day! She’s very feisty, and not too bright either, but she’s got a big heart. Always wanting to play, she has her ways of letting you know to that matter. She curiously leans over hers little cat toy, as to hint you in to what she’d like to play.
My hamster is known as Bilbo, he’s a Dwarf Hamster, very, very, very smart if I do say so myself. He’s the fourth hamster I’ve had (all of them are the same breed, but some are Fancy Dwarf Hamsters) and he has lived the longest. I don’t get to pay too much attention to him, because his cage stays closed in my room so my kitten doesn’t get to him, like she has so many times, but I do always check in on him and make sure he’s doing fine. He is quite the bundle of joy to have around, and does love to be held, so I hold him as much as possible.
And now for my Guinea Pig, Roger. Oh boy, what a pet, Roger is white and gray, always nervous, always hungry, which leads to his “chubbiness factor”. Roger refuses to eat out of a bowl, when I put his food in a bowl, he knocks it over. Even if I tape it down, he finds out how to get the bowl out. Because he was so stubborn, I had to begin laying his food out on his little platform for him to eat. Ugh. Always chewing away at the bits and pieces that hold his little cage together, always getting stuck in situations, and crying because he’s out of all the food I just gave him ten minutes ago, squealing all night, while I try to get some bloody sleep, this guy, is quite a handful.

I have a girl pitbull named Nugee. I think they're illegal where I live but what the hey, if anyone asks she's an American Staffordshire mutt. She's so nice and the cutest thing ever. :)
I also have a rat. His name's Mister Bojangles. He's fat and lazy. XD My other rat Susie died last October. Sob sob.
We had some frogs too, but they got left in the sun too long and shrivelled up. The other one, and a hamster got lost in the house. Never did find them. I don't have very good luck with pets. My bunny hung itself, and my other bunny got eaten by something. I opened his cage and there was a big gaping hole in his stomach. What the jingo? Yeah.

Katy a female cat, ermmm age let's see... I think 12 in human years. She's white and has long hair, I think she's like a mix of turkish angora...with her long hair, she's extremely lazy and finds my homework more interesting than and sort of cat toy, she's afraid of cat nip, loves food, begs like a dog, loves ribbons, hates metal things (probably cause when she was a kitten she had a bell on her collar...she despised it) and also hates little cat sweaters. I love my kitty. Sometimes my cat will be sooooooooo smart and then other times...
well...

I also have two cats one name mickey (man that cat went through alot he got the skin on his side torn off by a dog later on he was grabbed by the same dog but he scratch that dog right on the nose later he got a broken leg after getting in a fight oh and his bladder exploded and he's still alive )

and I must make a note on how much I hated that F-in dog
it killed my other cat nickey and her baby chublets
how nicky died lets just say her mother instincs(sp?)kicked in when she saw her baby walking next to a hole that was near the fence so she hurrys up and grabs chublets before the dog was able to but instead got grabbed her self and was killed
later on chublets was killed becaus he walked a bit to close to that dog while its was outside on a leesh anywho the dog grabbed chublets by the neck and started swinging it around
and its a scary thing to witness =( I wanted to help him but I couldn't I was to shooked to move or to say anything all I was able to was watch as chublets was being killed

it's really sad because I've grown up with my cat since I was 3 and I'm almost 17. She and I would talk and sleep together and she was my only friend for a long time. she got lots of health problems the last two weeks and so she was put to sleep yesterday and then I had to pretend to be happy at my sister's bridal shower

The longest I've had any current pet is "Bull"(sorry for the lack of originality in that name, but it suits him, since he reminds me of the bailiff on the old tv show, "Night Court"), who is a seven-foot-long Bullsnake. I just realized today that he's 17 years old! It doesn't seem like I've had him that long...guess we're both getting old. I had a Ratsnake for 19 years, and he died two summers ago. One of my tarantulas is known to be 15, but I haven't had her that whole time. Even with pets that live this long, though, it still sucks to lose them.

He was given to me as an ickle little kitten upon my eighth birthday, making him fourteen years young and my childhood/adolescent life partner. He's a cream-and-catnip junkie and possibly a misandrist...it's odd, but while he's always been super-affectionate toward my mother and myself, he usually recoils whenever my dad or brother try to touch him (but I guess the four of us are too small a sample to know for sure). A bona fide poser who spends his days patrolling his territory and rolling around the grass on his back, so that his attractive white belly is on display and game for a tickling, and his nights snuggled up on my pillow, practically shoving my own head off. Which I don't mind, since I like having his warm, purring, vibrating body pressed up against me. Yeah, you go, you handsome devil you. :D

And here's my other delightful bundle of feline fluff - Cleopatra (alias: Cleo). She comes from the same litter as Scamp, and originally belonged to my brother, but now that he's moved away from home and started a new life elsewhere I've more-or-less inherited her. Unlike her older sibling, who has an adventurous and independent side to his nature, Cleo is a generally rather nervous and insecure (not to mention highly vocal) little creature who gets easily startled and constantly craves human company. She's also extremely playful, universally friendly and ever so affectionate - in other words, the sweetest little being on the planet:

I used to have a dwarf rabbit named Stanley - the first pet I ever owned, and one who'll always hold a very special place in my heart - but he passed on long before the age of the digital camera, so the most I could possibly show you would be a few scanned blurry snapshots of him sitting upon the lap of my six-year-old self (which I'm not keen on doing :P ). I am truly sorry to hear about everyone else's losses because I know from Stan's death how painful it is to lose a pet - I had no idea how hard it was going to hit me. It's also very painful for me to acknowledge that I'm probably much closer now to the end than to the beginning with Scamp and Cleo. :(
Not sure if she counts as a pet exactly, but at one point I did also have a sickly baby hedgehog a friend had picked up as abandoned and which somehow wound up in my hands. I named her Nettle and attempted to rear her myself, but sadly she died after a couple of weeks. She had always been very weak and, even more harrowingly, didn't appear able to use her back legs, which possibly accounts for why she was abandoned in the first place.
Raising a baby mammal is certainly no picnic. Not only do you have to supply them with nutrients every few hours (in Nettle's case, heated goats' milk through a pipette...cows' milk + hedgehogs = DISASTER), but you have to enable them to relieve themselves yourself by running a damp cotton bud around the appropriate areas (in the wild, their mothers would apparently just lick them :P ).

my cat stopped eating for over a week and started to get very sick
and she died yesterday
so just know if your pet stops eating you should monitor them very closely, because it could mean something as big as what happened to my kitten
the same thing Happened to my 17 year old cat back in Febuary.
within a week withered down to nothing, would not even fight getting into the car. it was very sad.
I though it may be related to the recall. however accoring to the FDA facs it should not have been since my cat never ate wet food, but they could always be wrong.

He's my best friend and has a tone of attitude (what cat doesnt?8D ). I got him when my sister had to move and couldn't take him with her. She denies it now, but she named him "Kissmitt" as a short version of "Kiss Mittens". Now she says it's supposed to be the word "Kismet".8D

Lemme see. I have 3 cats.
Click here for a pic of Cocoa. (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b287/keatongirl13/VidCam/Picture008.jpg)
She's actually named after Coco from Foster's...it was my mom's idea. Also the fact that her fur is a cocoa color. She's annoying and likes to get under the covers with me, much to my dismay...>> Uh, my figures...got in the way kind of.
Click here for a pic of Winnie. (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b287/keatongirl13/VidCam/My_cat_Winnie_smaller.png)
He's the oldest of the three, been around for many years (possibly 7 or 8) and he was my mom's until I...carried him up the stairs from the basement. After I kept doing that a few times, he loved me. XD Weird, but true.
Click here for a pic of Chi-Chi. (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b287/keatongirl13/VidCam/Picture074.jpg)
She's my mom's cat. She's mean and HATES people, being picked up and loved on at times. She's just mean all together. She's not the white cat, mind you, that one was given to a neighbor. Chi-Chi's the dark one.
That's all right now. My mom wants to get a miniature daschund...
I'm not much of a dog person and if I did get one, I'd get a German Shepherd, but she doesn't want a big dog...=(

Hey COOL avatar "Cats don't dance", guess you really are a cat lover. But back on topic, you got some pretty cute looking cats.
It's a shame Chi-Chi is so mean, how'd you come up with that name anyway? Sounds like a character from Dragon Ball Z actually.
I think Cocoa looks the cutest :).
