A big loveable imaginary friend, Eduardo may seem like a big scary cat at first, but we all know he's a brave lion inside. As seen in the pilot Eduardo helps his friends many times even when he's scared. Eduardo is many times still a child inside as he loves watching "Lauren Is Exploring" and loves to learn new words, can you all say red? At first glance Eduardo may seem like a large spanish monster, but he's really just a big softy, we all want to hug. :-/

I've liked Eduardo since I first saw him in "Who Let The Dogs In?", way back in late March 2005. It's still one of my favorite episodes, which I burned to a special "Ed Disk" along with "Eddie Monster" and "Land Of The Flea". What's not to like about the big guy? He's sweet and gentle and really just a big teddy bear. Oh, I want an Eduardo plushie so bad! ;D

I was just talking to my mum about how cool an Ed plushie would be the other day! :D How huggable! Ed is a good example that outer appearances don't necessarily apply to the personality inside. And I can perfectly relate to Ed's obsession with stuffed animals and anything small and cute. XD

Eduardo is my favorite character of the whole series! I hope they're are more Eduardo based episodes in the future. His cluelessness is the root of the character! Plus more funny quotes than Cheese! :)

I almost died in The Big Cheese when Eduardo answers Coco with:
"No! This isn't what I'm wearing from the news show! Oh my goodness Coco, I would just die!"

No idea. :P I know Ed does call Bloo -- "Azul" (literally meaning "blue" in Spanish) every now and then. Ed is amazing. He's definitely a very gentle character, despite the appearance. I also enjoyed some of the Eduardo episodes (including "Who Let the Dogs In?"). :-/

I was like "meh" when I first saw Ed, he was nothing special.
But he grew on me, which is amazing for a cartoon character (and proves how the show has such depth), and I love him now. Ed is a great I.F, I hope he does get to stay at Foster's though, as a permanent. He seems to belong there.

ALL of the main IFs (and humans, for that matter) seem to belong there because they've spent so much time as a "family", they're practically inseperable. I mean, think about it... it just wouldn't be the same to not have Frankie and Herriman getting on eachother's nerves, to not see Wilt helping out everyone and (almost parentally) guiding Eduardo, to not have Bloo rubbing in his own success, to not see Mac get on another sugar high again (hilarious!), or to not see Coco get extremely sassy.
It'd be like a Lite-Brite without colored pegs... sure it'd still exist but nobody'd want to see it.
I'm kinda "Meh" when it comes to Ed. He annoys the crap outta me...no offense.

I said something somewhat similar to this effect on a thread at the old board, but once again, I agree. Not just because of the trademarks we love, but it seems the human characters(Mac being a nerd, Goo having no other friends, Madame Foster the kooky eccentric, Frankie's near-absolute isolation from the outside world) are just as much of "outcasts" as the IFs.
Ed is great. Yes, he is annoying... but he is a GOOD annoying to me, the kind that is adorable instead of tedious or malicious.

Eduardo's great, he's such a throwback to those old storybooks of monsters and yet he's got the ferocity of Jigglypuff. I think the neatest thing about Ed is not that he's so nice opposing his obvious scary appearance.
But how he proves to be as equally weird as Bloo does. The potatoes thing obviously comes to mind, although I'm starting to think that's not as weird as that BIZARRE obsession he had with the matress sale in "Bus the two of us".
IT'S FOR ONE DAY ONLY!
That was hystertical, it was totally out of left wing and it was nice to see Eduardo enter the complete insanity vibe for a change.

"Potatoes, potatoes, potatoes, potatoes, Every like potatoes..."
I nearly died when I first heard that line.
Uh oh, hold onto your hats. Here comes CG to talk about Eduardo. [ahem]
Eduardo really is a big sweetie.
I've never seen him openly hate someone, or something. Sure he gets angry and pouty, as most children do, but I've never seen him out right dislike someone/something and stay like that with no intention of changing his feelings later. Except for maybe spiders.
His innocence is what drew me to him, really. While Wilt is world worn and apologetic, Bloo is obnoxious and self centred, and Coco is just a crazy larakin; Eduardo (despite his obvious age) still has the mind of a five year old. Everything still seems new to him even after all this time. He takes great joy from the smallest of things, for example his Beanie Baggies. Also how enrapt he got because of a mattress sale was another example. Agerage people would think nothing of it, but for Eduardo the prospect of buying himself something that normally costs so much for so little was a big event for him.
He values his friendships too, because even if some situations have out right terrified him from time to time (big example being the Pilot), he still follows after them and sticks by through the tough times. Especially the tough times, as evident when his Guardian nature overthrows his cowardice and he becomes a raging bull. Even over something as tiny as a spider for a little girl he hardly knew. That was sweet, even if he did over do it; but its evident his fear of spiders is one of the worst. Man. Hate to imagine him being around that Daddy Long Legs like friend we saw Mac standing on in The Big Cheese.
Yes Eduardo is scared of many things, but there has to be a really good reason as to why he takes great fear from every day things. One of my theories is that he witnessed something truly terrifying (be it at his own hands or someone elses) and it showed him just how dangerous things can be. Hes cautious also at the same time as scared. Hes borderline, I suppose. Maybe hes partially scared of himself, when he does become the fearsome Guardian and he treads carefully in fears of something sparking his anger and unleashing his power. I mean hes obviously tough; he was pulling the legs off that Extremeasaur in the pilot, and also capable of lifting a bus with little effort. He could do some real damage to anything (the house obviously since hes been capable of running through walls when fuelled right), and I think he knows that. So he'd rather be cautious and let things scare him into running away then face things head on and be a big meanie.
As much as Wilt has a more interesting backstory to be found out, I am still loooking forward to the small moment in 'Good Wilt Hunting' when we are rumored to meet up with Eduardo's creator. His creator is thought to be a girl, given Eduardo's love of fairly girly things despite being in all things, a boy. This big, burly, sharp toothed and sharp horned Guardian likes collecting toys, is terrified of creepy crawlies, likes pink, and is just generally going against his self image. I can't wait to see her. I can't wait to see who brought this great Spanglish (lol) speaking Imaginary to life and why she did give him up. Was he too much of a handful? Did she outgrow the need for a Guardian? Questions in need of answering. And I hope we do get at least some answered. I don't need all of them, just a few.
But here's my small rant : Eduardo episode for the next season please. That's what was missing from this season. For me, Eduardo centric episodes are sometimes the sweetest ones out there. Who let the Dogs In, Eddie Monster, Land of the Flea... heck, even if Squeakerboxxx wasn't really 'his' episode his moments were so gosh darned adoreable how could anyone hate him? Putting so much love into one squeaking elephant toy and treating it as it was a baby? Gaahhh... colour me tickled pink. Pun intended.
So yes. Please give Eduardo his much deserved episode in Season Five.
Thats all.

...CG, you said it the best.
I get a smile on my face whenever Ed appears on screen. He is a fresh breath of innocence that people need in a cartoon, without the character being annoying. I have seen many cartoons try and pull of a sweet and innocent character but when push comes to shove the character is annoying but Ed is far from that.
Let me just say how sad I am at how quiet Eduardo's thread is. Even Cheese has more posts! And Eduardo's showed up more them him!
For shame.
Either way I just wanted to say also, I'm so happy seeing Eduardo has now got TWO shirts to his name. Good on Eduardo for his merchandisable skulls at Hot Topic. :P It's a combination of horay and eeuuw since they're doing a lot with his skulls. But it is HT, they have a slight tendancy to be on the darker side of things.

Yeah, I kinda favor Eduardo in the series, and I have some artwork of him in my Photobucket Account. But what embarassed me is that he doesn't like being exposed. I also hope that he will have a respected episode in Season 5. Maybe in that episode, he would probably be dressed in a fancy coat briefly and speak with an English accent and briefly lose the guff tone. I think that episode might be called "Mr. Ed." Also, in the comments for part one of "Eddie Monster" on YouTube, Kaytea said that she doubts that the Wikipedia article about his eventual "death" is true. I believe her. I hope that nothing bad will ever happen to Ed. Afterall, why would he die if he's a main character? Kaytea also said that according to Lauren Faust, there might not be any deaths in the show at all. And I can't wait to see the little girl who created him. I wish I would know her name.

Word to the wise, LosDosEduardos-DO NOT believe ANYTHING you read on Wikipedia. regarding upcoming episodes of "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends"! That site has long been plagued with an assortment of trolls, liars, and spammers, who often post fake information about upcoming episodes. Some of these people are wanna-be screen writers who cannot separate their own fantasy fanfiction from the show's real plots, so they pretend to be knowledgeable about what's going to happen, when in fact they're just posting their own fanfiction as if they were really writing for the show. Some just want to make fans angry and get a response. There was a member of another forum who adamantly hated Eduardo, and always kept posting these stupid episode ideas in which Eduardo dies, so I would assume that this is the same person who keeps posting "information" on an upcoming episode in which Eduardo dies. Lauren Faust herself has stated that there will be NO episodes dealing directly with death, and certainly no main character deaths, since that is not a topic they wish to cover. It is ashamed, though, that many fans of the show do not come here, but go to Wikipedia instead to get information, and are thus misled.

Episode ideas don't really belong in character discussion threads. You're welcome to start your own thread for it; it should probably go in the Fanfic section. Ep ideas can be discussed in the character threads to an extent, but if you really want "feedback" on your ideas, you need to do that someplace else.

She does have a point. I could make an Episode idea on my LDE page or in this forum's Fanfic section.
I wasn't laughing or embarassed to see Ed get filmed naked on "The Big Cheese," but just concerned. However, I think that Ed might learn to be comfortable with it in some of my Fanfictions, like episode three of my Fanfiction miniseries. He could learn to become "one with nature."
Why in the world does Ed refer to the male characters on the show by the title "Señor" like Sr. Mac, and refer to most of the female characters by "Señorita" and "Señora"?
Maybe it could probably be the same reason Mr. Herriman refers to the characters by the title "Master" or "Miss."

Ed should play some roll in GWH that's a gimmie.
As for "Loom" it depends on how much time the writers gave to the scenes not involving Madam Foster/Bloo. Which could be anything from playing a significant roll in the B-Plot (Should the episode have one.) or just regulated to a couple scenes at the most. Then again if need be they could have injected Ed into the main story of that episode. (After all I can see Ed going just as nuts about a fabric store as Madam Foster.)
But until these episodes actually air we wont know for sure.

I agree, though they all put up a good offensive before they got captured.
Still, I was overjoyed by the fact that Ed got a fairly large role in "Make Believe It Or Not". It's been far too long since he had a decent-sized part in an episode, and Ed just tends to make me giggle like a moron whenever he's on screen. I think that, in a lot of ways, Ed tends to remind me of myself when I was a child: overeager in the simplistic things I did and frightened of nearly everything, yet occasionally being able to do something courageous/noteworthy. I really do think Ed is a great character who tends to be overlooked, which is a shame because he deserves as much credit as possible.
At least he has his own t-shirt available now. Gonna snatch that up when I get the scratch.

Eduardo is very neat! He's still my favourite, and having finally seen just why and how he was created in the movie was great. Plus his friendship with Nina, as I've said elsewhere, was a beautiful thing to behold. That she could still become the sweet little girl she was when Eduardo was around, whilst still being a tough cop the rest of the time was great.

I think actually seeing his relationship with Nina was one of the best Eduardo moments I have ever seen, the movie really helped me like Eduardo even more and I find him even more of a lovable guy after seeing for why he was created and how he helped Nina and vise versa.
To me, this shows he's not a pansy or a cry baby or anything of that sort. It does show he's a coward, but a nice guy as well and I think that's what matters. Being a coward isn't the greatest personality trait to live with, but I think his overall teddy bearish attitude is what makes him so great.

I used to think that Eduardo was good, not great, but I realise now that he fulfils his potential as a main character. Who Let The Dogs In, Land of The Fleas and especially Eddie Monster, all great performances! That's why I'd like to see more episodes starring Eduardo.

Hey, maybe if we're lucky.... "The Buck Swaps Here" might feature Eduardo as the main character of the episode!
Seriously. It says that he's the one who finds the hundred dollar bill.

Yeah, it certainly did! However, I didn't really get the enjoyment out of the episode like I should have since I had the tv turned down and everything (don't ask why! I just had to do it! :P). But Ed's character really shined in that episode, in my opinion.
As I've said before Ed seems to be the type of character who looks large and frightening on the outside, but is really a cuddly cutie on the inside and that is what is so great about him. ;)

Eduardo was so adorable in the new short, "Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow."
His akwardness all the time just makes me laugh.
Anyway...he made the invasion episode one of my top favorites.

Create your own Tater-tops, and works of art! (shows carved potatoes, painted potatoes, and other decorated potatoes)
Build a Potato Racecar, and compete on the Spud Speedway! (shows painted potatoes with wheels attached to them, and shows them rolling past a scenic country landscape)

Oh, man, if that was a real event I would love to go. It might be a little overwhelming for Eduardo, I think, but if he could get past his fears he'd have a great time... and probably gain 40 pounds. 8D
There's a good question. We know the big guy likes potatoes, yeah, but how does he like them? What's his favorite recipe? Mashed, scalloped, fries, chips, what? Or does he just eat 'em raw, right out of the sack, like they were apples? My guess would be chips, without extra flavors. (If you've never tried one raw, by the way, go for it; they're very good uncooked. :))

There was an AD where Ed lists the many ways he enjoys a potato. Fried, roasted, mashed, au gratin, chips, baked, etc...XD

Yup, that ad was real. I could hardly believe it myself. Sounds silly, but I'm sure it'd be fun, especially with the kids. And the food I'm sure would be good. I like potatoes, too. :-/

I remember that ad! He was doing a sort of parody of the scene from Forrest Gump. It's been a while since I've seen it, though.

Yeah! That would be pretty fun. Especially for Eduardo. I can imagine him dragging Wilt there or something. :wiltshock:

I seriously want to walk up to Eduardo, and give him a big, big hug. He'd probably be scared of how I look, but I'm sure he'd want to give me a big hug as well. He's just so sweet, and gentle, with episodes centered around him being some of my favorites.

I love Eduardo! I've always been a fan of his Spanglish, not to mention that his "timid monster" aesthetic recalls that of the green dinosaur from the Toy Story movies in a way. I've always wondered though what a parallel universe version would be like, because of the oxymoron his design construct bears, if any of that makes any sense.
I think the most amusing part about his Spanglish is whenever he calls Bloo Azul, because here it's a name he's saying in Spanish. Plus it just sounds downright silly.
Earlier today I saw his Crazy Larry impersonation from "Bus the Two of Us", one of his finest moments. "I GUARANTEE BEST DEAL IN TOWN ON NEW MATTRESS! WHY? BECAUSE IT'S LOCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I'm not that huge an Eduardo fan; he was pretty much just the typical "timid guy in a beastial form" stereotype to me. Not to mention most of the writers IMHO have a habit of making Ed just cry at everything they think is "scary" for no reason or because they need a plot point, or give him jokes that are out-of-character (EG: Hiccy Burp, "I don't know, I just wanted to see if he'd do it all." I really felt that one was weird, and his earlier comment to Wilt about "Some people never learn!" as well.)
I think my favorite parts I've seen of him were in the pilot, in Eddie Monster, Coco Cards and Room with a Feud (I actually found his crying scene after P.B says he "loves oompa music" really cute XD; )
Also, omg, I rewatched season 1 after going through most of season 2 - 5. Eduardo was HORRIDLY off-model in most of those episodes. XDD I died. Like several times while re-watching Season 1. SUPREMELY. OFF. MODEL. XDD

Eduardo's personality is predominantly more that of a three year old than that of a coward, though he does have that element to him. One memorable example of this would be him watching "Explorin' Lauren" (or is it called "Lauren is Explorin'"?) during "The Big Picture". His insecurities in that episode related to his "pooting problem" also were a lot closer to that as well.

Eduardo seems to be perfectly fine whenever I watched Foster's. The models seems to go to some changes during each season.

This may fit more within the Nina Valeroso thread, but given how and why Red resulted from Terrence and Bloo resulted from Mac, I thought Eduardo's creator would be something like a small, timid Hispanic kid who ended up with a lot of pent up aggression over getting bullied all the time and imagined Eduardo in an attempt to scare the living daylights out of anyone he felt threatened by.

Well I may like some or all characters in Foster's but one of my favorite imaginary friend is Eduardo.
He may look scary in the outside but in the inside he is a loving, helpful, and a great imaginary friend that everybody loves and want to hug.
So who could resist that fluffy guy? :smed:

I really miss the big guy, what with there being no new episodes or even reruns these days, and the end of the series approaching. He was the first IF I got to know at the House and he's remained a favorite ever since. :smed:

But hey, at least we still have the dvd's! :D
I actually became an Eduardo-fan thanks to his voice-actor... gotta love Tom Kenny!
