I just found out this morning that a friend of mine, Kieth Taylor of Cayce, SC, and owner of Blackwater Rattlesnake Outfitters, which took people out on herping adventures in South Carolina's swamps and sandhills, passed away yesterday in the hospital:( . His funeral will be tomorrow at 11 am, and I can't get time off from work because this was not an immediate family member. Kieth worked hard to help change people's attitudes about reptiles, especially venomous snakes. The last time I visited him, he told me that he was having recurring black-outs, and that he was going in for tests because his doctors suspected a brain tumor, but he never brought it up again when we spoke by phone.

Aw, I'm sorry your friend passed away. He sounded like a nice person, changing the way people viewed poisonous snakes, one person at a time...

Yeah I too feel for your loss, from what you were describing he sounded like quite the gentleman who really enjoyed his work and was doing positive things to help people's perception of misunderstood reptiles.
