I just checked with Zap2It.com, and a new episode of Foster's will air on April 24th at 8:30 PM ET/PT titled "Pranks for Nothing." According to the site, it says that a bug infestation hits the home, and Mr. Herriman moved the friends to a hotel for the night. (And yes, mods and Sparky, it is already up on that site. I'm sure TVGuide.com has it listed too.)

In answers to those questions:
1. That new "Ben 10 Alien Force" debuts Thursday (4/17).
2. "Race for Your Life" airs May 29th, with a online vote starting May 19th.
3. I doubt a Paris Hilton and Hercule Poirot lookalike will appear in this episode.

Goody, two weeks isn't long to wait at all. A bug infestation, eh? And then a hotel stay. Sounds fun! Here's the synopsis from TVGuide
The Friends start a prank war while staying at a hotel.
Yes, now that sounds very fun. It should have aired more toward the beginning of the month though. :slybendy:

I can foresee some pretty good Keith Moon/Spinal Tap parodies here, too!
Perhaps we'll get to see some more of Wilt's prankster side as well, like we got a taste of in "Nightmare On Wilson Way", complete with that "evil" grin for effect.

I second the motion. I'd love to see what Brigadier General Wilt (and I looked at the screengrabs from the ep when he was dressed as a soldier to check this: one star, which in the US Army is a Brig. General) would do in a prank war. <Mischivous grin>

Who knows? Maybe the nefarious and Evil Lord Snotzax Eenie Meanie Baron von McNasty will put in an appearance, with a brand new lampshade...er, I mean battle helmet, courtesy of Best Western or Motel Six!

There also appears to be two new "background" friends entering the scene. And they're nearly identical except for some symbols on their chests. They somehow reminded me of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum from Alice in Wonderland. And you can clearly see they're at a hotel. Looks like fun, I can hardly wait! :slybendy:

Hmm, well, there really wans't any dialogue other than the narrator saying "You know what's funny? Pulling pranks!" and after showing the IFs pulling some pranks on eachother and laughing, he goes on to say "Prank pullers!" five or six times while he starts laughing uncontrolibly too. 8D And then at the very end Bloo says "This is gonna' be awesome!"
None of the humans are in the ad, although most certainly either Frankie or Madame F will be the ones to check them into the hotel. All the friends were though. Even some of the background ones like Clam Bake, Bloppy Pants, Cy, and Hootin' Andy (and others, but I didn't have much chance to look at all the faces). So, at least all the friends will be in it. I'm sure a few (if not all) of the humans will be in it too, the ad just didn't show them. :)
Edit: Oh, I didn't see Mr. H either. But he might still be in the episode.

OK I'll try to explain objectively why I didn't enjoy this episode so much:
1. Honestly, it was too predictable. After the first prank "backfires," it was obvious what was going to happen. While I didn't anticipate Mr. Herriman answering Room 212's door, I knew right away it was a fake. I was thinking it was a cardboard cutout of Mr. H, so points for throwing the two new IFs in a Herry costume instead.
2. It lacked the Foster's touch. Replace Bloo with "Sylvester", Coco/Ed/Wilt with "Tweety", Herry with "Grandma", and take out the Foster's Bus, and you have pretty much an acceptable Looney Tunes plotline. Coco even only used her eggs once, from what I remember. And since when does Bloo carry $200+ in his pockets to pay for 80 pizzas?!
3. It's only fair that Bloo gets the short end of the stick every now and then, but the new IFs really weren't too funny. I kinda felt bad for them being all tied up.
4. Fortunately, there was a good ending. The best part of the episode was easily the last 30 seconds or so. The whoopie bag and Sly Wilt, I wasn't expecting at all.
Foster's Geek 287
04-24-2008, 06:33 PM
I thought it was a cutout, too.
Until I saw Bloo pull at his shirt and the fact that he was 3D and fell out of the room
But I like the new IFs alright.

Man, predictable or not(and anyone who's seen "Beavis and Butthead" could probably predict most of what those two guys with the "F's" on 'em would do), this was STILL one of the funniest episodes I've seen in a long time! Maybe it was just because Bloo has had it coming to him for so long, that it just plain FELT GOOD to see someone finally one-up the little booger! Those two slacker/stoner dudes were funny as heck, especially if you've ever actually known people who are just THAT stupid, for real!
"Hey, dude, this isn't the bathroom."
"Oh, yeah...it's like, the gift shop!"
And, while I did have my suspicions that it wasn't Coco who was behind the "inflict Karma on Bloo" plot, I have to say that there have been few scenes, in any tv show or movie, that gave me as much pleasure as that last scene as the bus drove away from the hotel, as that totally, wonderfully EVIIILLLLL grin slowly spread across that face! As we say down here in South Cakalacky, "Don't MESS with Chahlllston!" I'll be dreaming about that grin all night!
And, was I seeing this right, or was Wilt driving the bus on the way home?

Question: Who did Flik and Flak? Their names were derived from the old comedy ice skating team "Frick and Frack". For those of us who remember Shipstad and Johnston's Ice Follies before Feld Entertainment of Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus fame bought them, and made it a Disney production, they were funny guys.

Was it just me, or did they show the intro twice? First time the entire intro, second time it was the shortened one. At first I thought it was part of the episode and the intro would be interrupted or something.
I'm kind of sad not to see Mac at all. I hope Sean had a good day off. But I was thrilled to see all the other main characters. It was great.
Whoooooo, Blooregard on a caffine high! Yeah, that looks about right. As long as it wasn't Cheese or Goo on the high. Bloo is just outright funny all tripped out. 8D
And I blurted out, out loud, "Twenty five dollars for WHAT????"
And Mr. H- "These three never do anything wrong unless you make them!"
I also take back what I said before about those two new friends reminding me of Twedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. They're more like Beavis and Butthead. :P Or maybe Chip and Skip from Camp Lazlo.
We see the return of a Deo stick!
Good, Blooregard does all that work to work off all the damage he did. Looks like the Hotel and all its inhabitants survived. That much is good.
I totally saw the Herriman costume thing coming within a few seconds. I also saw the hand buzzer coming. Painfully saw it coming.
And at the end, don't want to give too much away yet, but I was practically on the floor laughing, and I clapped my hands and cheered. That was brilliant!

I thought it was a good episode, but it certainly didn't top the first two of the season, in my opinion. I, too, was a bit disappointed to not see Mac. I was surprised not to see Madame F (was she even in the episode?). I did love the ending, though. It had to be the Wilt-man that was responsible for that prank! "Pranks for Nothing" gets a B-.

Well I certainly enjoyed this more then Mondo Coco (sorry, just didn't like that one). To me, Frick and Frack (or was it Fritt and Fratt? That's what it sounded like Bloo called them) remind me of Dylan from the Magic Roundabout, although I'm sure that's just me, lol.

Luckily I was able to see this episode before my power went out for the last 2 hours or so. To be honest, I was kind of satisfied and kind of disappointed at the same time. This episode was......okay, it was average but nothing superbly fantastic or bad about it if you ask me.
There's wasn't much here except Bloo just repeating the same prank bit over and over. However I did enjoy VERY MUCH SO, the dumb ass twins Frit and Frat or whatever they are called, and the "surprise" prankster from the very end. It was a clever twist and one I felt was well needed (and deserved!) for the character.
I was kind of upset we didn't see what the other IFs, Frankie, and Madame Foster were doing while they were in the hotel. My favorite part has to be Bloo on coffee, that's gotta be a new rule breaking record to do EVERYTHING bad in less then a minute. I didn't feel sorry for Bloo in the least bit when Mr. Herriman locked him up.
Considering the fact Bloo has always screwed Wilt, Coco, and Eduardo over many times without even wanting to get involved, he so had it coming this time. Overall, decent episode, average.

I did sorta miss Mac, but it would have been tricky to work him into the plot, with the whole crowd being away from the house overnight, and the hotel being several hours away(apparently the local hotels know the Foster's crowd too well, lol). I really have to wonder where Madame Foster was during all this though, since I can't even recall seeing her on the bus, and Frankie could have gotten a bigger role, but overall, I can't find anything to complain about this episode. Even though the pranks were predictabe, THAT is what made them funny, since everything Bloo was thinking of was so cliche', that anyone would have been able to second-guess him and stay one step ahead. The funny part, though, was finding out whose idea it was all along to do just that! Caffeine-high Bloo was hilarious, even though he was at his most annoying during that scene, and you really had to feel for Eduardo, Wilt and Coco, all worn-out from the uncomfortable bus ride and in need of rest, having to deal with that. Wilt even took a swing at Bloo at one point, but missed because Bloo was bouncing around so much, and at that point, I sorta had to wonder if Wilt didn't already have some retribution in store for him.
The twin IF's reminded me more of Beavis and Butthead, too, just more "clean". The way that they kept pulling Bloo's pranks on THEMSELVES, and laughing about it, and the way that they thought it was hilarious when they got tied up and forced to wear a Mr. Herriman costume, was straight out of a "Beavis and Butthead" episode! When Bloo was going on his rant about how he was being penalized for something he didn't do, I TOTALLY expected one of them to start going, "huh..huh...huh...he said 'PENAL'...huh...huh...huh"! Guess that would have made the comparison a bit TOO obvious, though!
That ending, though...now THAT was a classic! That alone would have made this episode one of my all-time favorites, and like you, I was literally clapping and cheering and jumping up out of my seat! I almost forgot to change the channel for a brand-new episode of "CSI", it was so great!

Overall good, but there was lots of potential in there that I wasn't sure was realized. However the episode is still one of the best ever for the ending. I had a hunch all along, Coco seemed like a scape goat. I fell on the floor laughing when that sly grin rolled across his face. Also Bloo's caffiene high was great. I would love to get him and Mac together when Bloo is on coffee and Mac is on sugar, the house might explode but it would be fun to watch. A little bloocentric for my taste (and he's my favorite character!) but overall good episode. Keep em coming!!!

Saw it again earlier. Stars, I love my DVD recorder. ;D I think my main problem with the episode is it's one-sided nature, and how Bloo was unable to fight back or get any sort of real satisfaction. I don't much care for themes like that regardless of who the victim is. I think I was expecting something a little more balanced or a general free-for-all, with everyone going a little crazy and getting as good as he/she got. As for Frick & Frack, they were a little annoying, but on the other hand it's always nice to see an homage to Beavis & Butt-Head, and when Bloo got whacked on caffeine, I guess I was hoping to see something like "The Great Blooholio". Not a bad episode, really, just not what I was expecting.

Agreed. I especially thought it was really mean of Eduardo, Coco and Wilt stay silent and let Bloo take the fall for the "water bucket" thing which Bloo was the victim of. Bloo was actually justified there in wanting to get back at them for that "blame the victim" double whammy.
Also made me wish Herriman tripped and fell or something, the cranky ol' codger.

So, I guess that Bloo should have just gotten by with having intentionally broken every rule set down by Mr. Herriman, including ordering expensive room service, eating from the "honor box", ordering pay-per-view movies-NONE of which he intended to pay for himself, mind you-AND messing up Ed's coloring, jumping on Wilt's stomach, grabbing Wilt's one good eye stalk and yanking it...and that's just for starters? Bloo was told not to do anything that would wind up costing the house a lot more money, but of course, he could have cared less, since it wasn't his money. He also could have cared less that the others were tired and wanted to get some much-needed rest. There's been many times that the others have gotten dragged into trouble because of Bloo, and it's about time he wound up on the receiving end of some much-deserved Karma. After how Bloo treated his roommates when they got to the room, I don't blame them one bit. I know if I had been in any of their positions, I would probably have resorted to much worse than pranks.

I was quite disappointed that Mac wasn't in this episode.:P
I wish there would've been at least a few second gag like Mr. Herriman saying that he feels like he forgot to tell someone something, and the it would show Mac at the house saying "I wonder where everybody is". Then Mac would "officially" be in the episode. Even if it was that one line, similar to the ending of "Everyone knows its Bendy".

They could've just let Herriman know what happened. I mean, even though Bloo screwed around, he didn't antagonize the others on purpose, so what you're suggesting is uber-Hammurabian.
Basically speaking, Bloo getting punished for his shenanigans was one thing, but him also getting punished for the prank that was played against him was uncalled for. Then again, I've practically never been a fan of things that end up in the victim getting blamed for the crime.

Which unfortunately does happen often. Some of the situations are beyond appalling, but no need to cover those things here. Either way, Bloo got the short end of the stick and it wasn't fun to watch.

Yay, finally got to see this episode.
It was another solid outing which did it's job entertainment wise (as in it kept me entertained for the whole twenty two minuets), but to be honest it kind of lacked that extra bit of pizazz that would have turned this episode from good to great.
I dunno maybe things could have better if the central story (IE the prank war) got to the point where more and more characters get caught in the crossfire and things really start to escalate to the point where the entire house gets involved and the pranks get super elaborate, And we get to see things like double and triple crosses amongst the characters to really build the suspense.
I can't say if that would have been better then what we got (IE Bloo tries a prank, beaten to the punch, rinse lather repeat.) but it could have had more oomph.
That is to say this episode didn't have it's great moments, which it did, the biggest laughs I got was from Eduardo's drawing (Ed = Sad, Bloo = Loco) and Wilt's criminal mastermind level smile at the end.
So all in all, it was enjoyable but could have been much more then what it was.

Ditto on both. Ed's drawing was definitely my favorite moment in the episode.

Wilt's criminal mastermind level smile at the end.
That was my most favorite part.:D

Hey, guys, turns out I'm not dead after all!:)
So, this episode. A bit of a dissappointment, really. It seemed to be an idea that looked good in theory but was a little stretched in practice. It's like an episode you'd expect from a show's first season, you know, before the writers have fully gotten it together. A C rating for me, or C-.
Well, on to the good parts!
Firstly, they gave Coco a good spot in this episode, which was nice. The two new IFs Fritt and Fratt or whatever (noone seems quite sure on their names) were a bit like the episode itself; fine, funny, but not particularly great. Their best lines in fact being their first. And, uh.....Wilt at the end, really. Those are the only real bits that stood out for me. Ah well, there's still plenty more episodes where that one came from before Fosters is over!
I just downloaded it, because apparently, Cartoon Network over here doesn't like Season Six.
It was, to put it lightly, rubbish. I thought Mondo Coco could have been better (I saw it yesterday), so I was hoping for something really good, or at least good for a few laughs.
The beginning was great. I didn't actually notice the absence of Mac and Madame Foster until I read this.. now, Mac would have been a bit awkward to fit in, so that's okay. But no Madame Foster? o_O
The new friends were annoying. They kind of reminded me of those twins from Camp Lazlo (seen one or two episodes of it a while ago). I laughed at the gift shop comment, and the pancake thing was funny, but then it just got annoying. I can only stand so much.
Oh, and finally, Deodorant appears, and it's not Deo! ..Though, admittedly, Deo-brand Deodorant was in this episode.
I got really angry when Coco, Ed and Wilt didn't tell Herriman that they pulled the first prank. Sure, Bloo ordered Room Service (etc), but then again, he /was/ caffeine-high (which was classic).
Eduardo's drawing was hilarious.
hmm.. I saw the cutout thing coming, too. I was surprised by the costume thing, though.
I can't say much that hasn't already been said, so I'll end it here. It was a good episode, but it could have been a lot better.

Like I think everyone else here, I'm going through some serious major withdrawal. :P So I'm going back to my trusty DVR and watching what's aired of S6 again.
I think I can officially say now that it's "old news" and has had its chance to sink it, that this one isn't one of my favorites. Mac being absent is only one reason. It could have been written better I suppose, and could have been a lot funnier. The pranks are still fun though, so was Bloo's caffeine high, and that ending is still full of win. :D
The Mr. Herriman costume was not only predictable within a few seconds, but I found it out of character. I mean, they may be stupid, but Fritt and Fratt were really innocent during the whole thing. Bloo's the one who took advantage of them and set them up. I just can't picture Wilt, Coco and Ed tying them up, gagging them, and forcing them to wear that costume and stand there stiff as a board for however long it took for Bloo to clean the entire hotel. The two laughed about it in the end I guess, but I just can't picture Wilt, Coco and Ed doing that to innocent friends. :wiltshock:

Coco, yes. She'd totally do that. After all, she has suggested both killing Peanut Butter in "Room With a Feud" and beating Mr. Herriman with a baseball bat in "Let Your Hare Down", so it's been established that Coco has a "dark side". I think we can safely say that WILT has a dark side, too, and he's shown that he can be very unpredictable. Wilt does not always stick to a "formula" of certain behaviors, and I believe that his taking the lead in getting even with Bloo in "PFN" shows that he's shedding his self-imposed repression and inhibitions that resulted from 30 years of guilt, and returning the Wilt that Jordan and the rest of his family would have known, before the ill-fated game against Foul Larry and his little pudgy creator. Wilt's gradually getting out of the "taking-mess-from-everyone-else" business. He's got such a personality that he can easily persuade others to follow his lead, so getting Coco and Eduardo to go along with the plan to out-do Bloo, even if it meant tying up Frit and Frat, would have been easy.

I figure this is more showing of Wilt's sense of practical humour; like we saw on Nightmare On Wilson Way, with the whole arm-gag thing. Just because Wilt is a nice guy, doesn't mean he's incapable of pulling something like this off.:D

But the thing is, neither Peanut Butter or Mr. H were exactly "innocent" in those instances, and they were irritating everyone. And Coco realized that. She does have a dark side, but I still can't see her wanting to tie up two innocent imaginary friends whom she hadn't even related with yet (or at least, not that the viewers saw).
As for Wilt, we can see he's clearly come up with a fun sense of humor and "fooling" people, as both episodes mentioned involve him pulling pranks on others. But again, tying up innocent imaginary friends, whom we don't even ever see him relate with beforehand, gagging them, making them stand there for however long it was... it's way too mean for something Wilt would do. He was pulling a prank on Bloo, but using and especially "abusing" innocent friends to do so is far from who he is.
I could see Bloo doing that to them, in his typical yet lovable self involvement. But knowing Wilt, Coco and Ed are the ones who did that still feels very out of character to me. :blooconf:

Agreed. It didn't follow that way.
I also thought Herriman was a jerk to lock up Bloo, especially since he'd called it wrong there. Herriman himself deserved to be locked up.

Being irritating isn't exactly just cause to kill them, is it? Frit and Frat were also very irritating, so if being annoying were just cause to kill someone, then surely it justified at least tying someone up! Keep in mind that in "Eddie Monster", Wilt backhanded Bloo upside his head, and he actually tried to smack him in "PFN", but Bloo was so hyped up on coffee that he avoided it, so tying up Bloo's accomplices in order to get back at Bloo isn't outside of Wilt's established behavior. Given how stupid Frit and Frat were, Wilt probably was able to easily trick them into going along with that part of the plan, and they DID think it was fun, so it's not like he had to rough them up and do that against their will.
