Does the music in the Pop Tarts Commercial (y'know, the one with the Ice Cream truck) freak anyone else out?

It sounds so depressing...

It sounded really really evil and depressing. I mean seriously, that commercial was made by a twisted mind...

I don't remember seeing it. However, I kinda feel bad for the Pop Tarts characters. Poor Pop Tarts that are about to be toasted and eaten.

Yep the marketing/creative "genius" who devised that particular advertisement deserves a swift kick up the backside. It's like they spent only one percent of their advertising budget on the actual commercial and the other ninety-nine percent on wild parties.

It's either ironic or clever advertising that I'm fairly sure that the product itself is for headaches.

Well, then send me to jail, I had Chocolate Chip Pop Tarts 2 days ago. :blooevil:

That commerical IS scary. That's like a hot dog cart collecting dogs and selling them as food...twisted kinda.

Augh!!! I was on Vacation and I saw that one... Ugh. It never tells you what exactly it does!!!

Pop tarts... Well, I really don't like the fruit ones. I'm more of a chocolate girl. The new mint chocolate chip ones sound good...

But then I think of the poor Pop Tarts in the sad commercial and I get upset... (nothing tramatic- in a humorous way)

The man in the truck must be strong... he shoves three poptarts into his truck without much trouble.

My brother's obsessed with those Go Tarts thingys...

LOL. You know what the funny thing is? A couple days ago, I read somewhere on the Internet that the winner of the Worst Commerical of the Year Contest was HeadOn. Somebody wrote this whole article about it. It was funny. I'll have to see if I can find it.

It's a headache remedy. It's also brilliant. Totally irritating, but brilliant. Think about it for a minute. The product relieves headaches, right? What better way to get people to try it than broadcasting a commercial that causes headaches? :bloocross:

Back the Pop-Tarts thing though... I kind of like the music. It vaguely reminds me of the American McGee's Alice soundtrack in the way that it takes a childish melody played on a children's-toy sounding instrument and warps it with a minor key into something somewhat twisted and dark-sounding.

Nonetheless, I was still surprised to hear something like that used in a commercial.

It's not brilliant if folks just go out and buy Goody's...

In memory of the mint chocolate chip Pop Tart, I had a mint chocolate chip ice cream last night at Friendly's (well, I usually get that anyway... but it sounds nice!).

I forwarded the Head On article to all of my friends... we HATE that commercial.

Actually, that's the way most commercials used to be when TV advertising was first starting out. And one of the most basic rules of commercials is to repeat your message at least three times.

It reminds me of the music that plays at the end of Doom (Doom 1, the computer game) where the view pans from a flowery field to a decapitated rabbit to a flaming city in ruins.

The music reminds me of "It" (the evil clown?) for some reason.

It's got that freaky "circus of death" music.

That is true, but it doesn't mean you have to be annoying when you do it. In theory a good ad should be enticing and not intrusive, draw the viewer in, make them want to believe that they need this product right now, yes repetition is a good way to keep things fresh in ones mind but if there is a negative stigma attached to that repetition then it's really all for naught IMHO.

I think HeadOn must be enjoying the attention they're getting. I hear they've released a new commercial, in which they actually have somebody walk in and say something like "I hate your commercial, but I love your product".

Cassini90125

They did release that commercial. I don't know what the guy said, however, as I'd already hit the mute button.

Poptart: Um, I kinda like those commercials...I think they're funny. *stare at'd*

Head-On: Haha, when I first saw it, I thought that the station went funky or something and repeated the end of it another two times. XD It was good for SOMETHING, though...Me and my family joke about it all the time.

HEAD ON SUCKS.

We bought some for fun last week, and IT DOES NOTHING.

I must say though, I am addicted to those Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pop Tarts now.

Even if that old commercial (which I don't think is played anymore) is freaky.
