Thanks for the information. :) I saw the "The Buck Swaps Here" listed on Wikipedia, and I wasn't aware of the episode title before; but I'm convinced now that this is a legit episode.

It is. The Buck Stops Here (May 18) deals with what happens after Eduardo finds a $100 bill.

I won't be able to see it either, I'll be at a BIG anime convention here in IL. Anime central it's called, it lasts for about 3 days and I'll be leaving a VCR timer recorder for it though.

Incidentally, May 11th happens to be my birthday date as well.

Then after that, somebody in TimeWarner's legal department will take it down faster than Edge beating an injured Mr. Kennedy and Undertaker to win the World Title on SmackDown!

Oh, what? That already happened? Never mind.

bloonuggets
05-14-2007, 11:53 AM
Yes, kzinistzerg, they did. Next one is "The Buck Swaps Here" on Friday (5/18). BTW, Memorial Day (5/28 on CN), "House of Bloo's" at 8:30 AM, "Good Wilt Hunting" at 6 PM, followed by "Bye Bye Nerdy" and "Cheese A Go-Go" to start the Alien Invaded Marathon.

Ccook50
05-14-2007, 04:14 PM
Just checked TV Guide's online listings and they don't have Bye Bye Nerdy listed for Memorial Day. They have Cheese-A-Go-Go at 7 PM/6 Central, and the rest of the "Invasion" episodes leading up to the final new Grim Adventures Of Billy & Mandy episode of the series ("Billy & Mandy Moon The Moon") at 9 PM.

I know Wikipedia can't always be trusted but is this episode real?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Foster%27s_Home_for_Imaginary_Friends_epis odes#Season_5:_2007

"Parrots of the Imagination" is supposedly about evil imaginary parrots. The imaginary puppies try to stop them. It sounds fake but if it was true, it would be interesting to see a minor character in the starring role.

Ccook50

For the moment, I'd be willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. But I'll still wait until TV Guide or Zap2It posts something definite.

I've already recorded all the Scooby-Doo movies and episodes ever made :-[ . The rest of what you listed isn't really my cup of tea. I'll take a Foster's rerun over any of them, anytime. :)

What's with the big gaps between episodes? ??? I seem to recall Lauren herself stating that the reason Season Five was delayed for so long was that the network likes to wait until they've got a few new episodes "stored up" so that they can then air several premieres in a row, because airing a new episode followed by several repeats causes viewers to tune out...and yet it seems to me that they're doing just that. I mean, we had to wait two weeks between "Cheese A Go-Go" and "The Buck Swaps Here", and now a three-week gap between "TBSH" and "Say It Isn't Sew"...I mean, they've already shown the episode online, so it can't be that they're not ready. What gives? I'm not complaining per se; it just strikes me as a little odd....

bloonuggets
05-26-2007, 08:29 AM
I agree. There may be more to this than we thought. Besides, debuts will happen almost every week or every other week through the summer IIRC.

Cassini90125
05-26-2007, 08:40 AM
Uh, perhaps we should be thankful that we're getting new episodes at all, instead of complaining that we're not getting them fast enough? :(

Ditchy McAbandonpants
05-26-2007, 09:27 AM
Like I said, it's not that I'm complaining that the episodes aren't coming out fast enough, it's more that I'm concerned about the risk of wonky scheduling alienating the show's viewership. I mean, as Lauren mentioned, the network said it themselves: following a premiere with weeks of repeats causes viewers to tune out, and I'm sure that airing premieres at irregular intervals would cause problems too. Obviously the die-hard fans like ourselves are going to seek out every premiere come what may, so it's no skin off our noses, but the fact is that if a show is inconsistently scheduled, the general audience will just lose patience with it. And that's no good for any of us. :(

Of course, though, this is all worst-case scenario stuff; we're only two episodes in, so CN have plenty of time to settle the show back into a nice regular weekly/fortnightly premiere slot. In which case you can just ignore my alarmist claptrap. :D

One Radical Dude
05-26-2007, 11:13 AM
I don't believe the show's targeted demographics would lose their patience. I agree with Cassini's statement; we should be thankful that we're actually getting new episodes period, instead of worrying about not getting them fast enough. I prefer NOT to have them air them all quickly, because then, we'll have complaints that things progressed too quickly. :macwor:

Ditchy McAbandonpants
05-26-2007, 07:38 PM
Gah...sorry to keep flogging this dead horse, guys, but I just want to make myself clear: it's not the speed that's an issue to me, it's the regularity. Slow episode release is fine; as you say, it makes the season last longer. Inconsistent episode release, on the other hand, always makes me panic a little, because the example of Futurama and others (even Seinfeld in the UK) have shown that audiences will abandon even the best shows if they're left guessing about when to find it...

...but if I'm honest, that really isn't an issue at this stage, so I'm not actually that concerned; I was more just speculating. The only reason I'm still going on about this is because I obviously phrased myself badly the first time...seriously, please just ignore me. :bloocross:

bloonuggets
05-27-2007, 09:38 PM
Hey, don't worry, Ditch. They're starting to crank 'em out on a regular basis right now. Matter of fact, new episode's online here in the colonies right now.

montitech
05-29-2007, 07:36 AM
I think Ditchy has a good point.

one of the primary issues I have with CN is their schedualing is really bad. THe timeslots keep changing for shows.

so for example, someone catches a single show once because they so happen to be channel surfing. A few weeks latter they cannot find the show, becaue it changed timeslots. It is common for CN to change timeslots of shows.
How many different evening scheduals did fosters have in the past 12 months. about 8 maybe with extra exceptions due to CN completley flipflopping the schedual whenever they think kids will be off from school.

A second example, Nicolodeon is so popular with kids because it keeps the schedual steady. kids know when the show is going on. How can a 8 year old insist on watching fosters, when the parents cannot find it at the same time week to week. currenly it is 2 eppisodes at 7, 2months ago it was one eppisode at 7, then there was one eppisode at 730, last fall it was one episode at 8.

Even Adult Swim does better schedualing than CN. I do not always like there shows but at least they are very consistant.

Sorry for the vent

The June 29/30 episodes will be the last ones to run late night as the following week (July 6/7) [adult swim] takes over the 11 PM-6 AM slot on Fridays.

Also, July 4th (Independence Day) will be Cartoon Network's celebration of the Red, White and Bloo, no pun intended. Every Foster's episode ever shown (well, maybe almost all of them) will run from 6 AM until 11 PM.

I bet not *one* of them will have the end credit sequences. :P And they'll have those splash ads that come not only from the bottom but from the top. Maybe in honor of the special occasion they'll have a new splash ad that explodes from the center complete with fireworks noises.

Sadly, virtually every cable/satellite channel and broadcast network does the splash ads. They don't care that we don't like it and that it's obtrusive. The most useless ones are those that tell us what we're currently watching, as if our attention spans were negligible.

I actually do forget what I'm watching sometimes, normally only in the commercial breaks, but there have been occasions where I've actually forgotten what I was watching during the episode. It happens when I get distracted by something, and then the screen goes briefly fades to black, like it does sometimes and I just sit there, thinking "What was I watching?"

So, no new episodes for July, eh? Thats NOT OK! Kinda strange that CN would air the new episodes fairly close to each other and then just stop showing them.

According to CN's TV schedule, which I just now looked at, there have been some changes to the schedule. So far all I see that will affect Foster's is this Sunday, July 15, and next Tuesday, July 17.

New Schedule for the 15th-
10:30- House of Bloos
12:00- Good Wilt Hunting
(followed by the Lazlo movie, the two B&M movies, and the Gym Partner movie) So basically, the entire Foster's marathon has been replaced with the airing of the movies.

New Schedule for the 17th-
4:00 - 7:00- The Foster's mini-thon has been replaced by a Code Lyoko mini-thon. So the only Foster's on that day are at 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. :(

I have Comcast, and my on-screen guide still shows the old schedule. But they've been known to air one thing when it says a totally different show is on. They may also correct it later.

Just wanted to be sure everyone's up to date. :)

Graci for the update. TV Guide's online listings still have the 15th and 17th marathons, but since TV Guide's main focus seems to be on celebrity dirt more than listings accuracy, CN's list will be taken as gospel.

Being on the West coast, I'm probably among the last to find this out, but the Comcast on-screen guide is STILL stating the old schedule, and yet "House of Bloos" has started. So ignore the on-screen guide, all who have Comcast.

On another note, has anyone else noticed that both Foster's movies are also on "On Demand" right now? No commercials, and no obnoxious ads that cover up half the freakin' screen. And as all CN shows always are, they're FREE! :D I'm going to record GWH again.:clap::clap:

Alas, still no new episodes. On the bright side, the Scooby-Doo marathon is definitely worth watching, and burning to DVD if the splash ads aren't too intrusive. Maybe that's why splash ads were invented; not to remind people of what they're watching, but to ruin the show just enough so that people will prefer to buy "official" disks rather than burn their own. >:(

Off-topic: You think the splash ads on CN are bad? Try watching VH1 programs with Splash Ads that take up 90% of the screen! (Yes, it seriously is THAT bad)

I'm hoping we'll find out at the Foster's event at the Con this Friday. I can't promise we'll learn anything but I'm hopeful.

Speaking of splash ads, one small preview clip of next season's Simpsons spoofed that, with Marge resorting to extermination via houseware (i. e. hand vacuuming the American Idol logo, spraying insect exterminator on the football players from an NFL ad, and pinning (IIRC) Jack Bauer from 24 with a fridge magnet).

And though I'm certain you've been there, new episodes begin/resume this September, which really isn't too bad.

08-17-2007, 07:08 AM
"Cake It to the Limit" is a B&M short if I remember correctly, and "Bullroar" doesn't sound like a Foster's short, so I doubt it. The CN Schedule often lists some short from a different show with an episode of Foster's (or any other show). Usually when a short and a ten-minute episode are shown together with a movie, like "Lazlo Eats a Banana* / Good Wilt Hunting / Crazy Antics*" or something like that.

*Just examples. They might be real shorts/episodes, but I doubt it.

I saw that comment in IMDb, too, and I think what the poster meant is that there is a new episode airing every night that week of different shows. I was confused too at first, though. There's an ad on CN airing this week advertising it as "Week of New{something}" I need to see the ad again... 8D

As for the short "Dream Date", I saw it last night, and yes, it's a B&M short. I also saw it while I was on vacation last month. But it has an appearance of one of our favorite Foster's characters -> Mandy finally agrees to go on a date with Irwin, and ends up having a really great time. He of course is ecstatic about it. But at the end of the short, it ends up just being a dream by Wilt, who wakes up, sits up in bed and says "What a strange dream! I don't even know any of those people!" 8D

It would give Sparky an oppurunity to screencap the repeating new episodes, just in case she'll be busy during the first airing of the new episodes.

Sorry for the double post, I thought about starting a new thread for this, but I don't know the details or even how "official" it is yet, so I figured it might be best to post the news here first.

According to CN.com, on Friday Oct. 12 there will be a 3D airing of "Out of Jimmy's Head", followed by a 3D airing of Foster's. I don't know if this will be an all new episode though, or just a 3D version of an existing one. But it's Foster's news anyhow. :bloosmirk: You can enter some "Giveaway" to receive free 3D glasses for the showing. Here's (http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/specials/3d/) CN's ad for the event.

And guests at HouseParty.com (http://www.houseparty.com/cn3d)can enter to win a 3D party pack, including party favors and a special pair of glasses so you can host a 3D party that night.

Interesting.... ;D

ToonZone just posted the plot for the 3D episode:

It's Halloween, and Bloo is bent on doing the ultimate trick, but when it goes wrong it sets off a chain of events that end up turning all of the Imaginary Friends into Zombies.

Sounds... weird. It could always be fake, but I'll post it just in case.

From my understanding Toonzoon has always been one of the more factual places on the Internet when it comes to information such as episode synopsis'.

So I think it might be legit.

Turns the IF's into zombies? Doesn't sound like the Foster's I know and love. :(

pitbulllady
09-26-2007, 11:07 AM
It could also be BLOO'S version of something rather mundane and ordinary, just like his version of being sent to his room for instigating trouble at Foster's by leaving Mac's Game Guy outside on the ground in a certain recent episode. OR, maybe it's a plot to trick BLOO by the others, to perhaps teach him a lesson(like THAT'LL work) for something. Anyway, it does seem odd, but again, plot synopses for this show tend to be misleading, probably because they can just be difficult to summarize neatly.

I found that synopsis kind of odd myself. They turn into zombies? I dunno... It was taken directly from the CN page at HouseParty.com (http://www.houseparty.com/cn3d), which is sponsoring the whole 3D thing. I'm glad to learn it will be a whole new episode though. I checked a Barns and Noble near my work today for a new issue of TIME for Kids, hoping there'll be a pair of 3D glasses in there, but no such luck yet. I am confused now though as the date mentioned at the sight above states it'll be Saturday the 6th, but CN's ad clearly states the next Friday the 12th. Unless it takes place on both days I guess.

I'll let you guys know what I find in the new issue of TIME for Kids when I find one.

And to clarify for those who don't know, HouseParty.com actually has nothing to do with Foster's BFAHP. I thought it did at first myself, but they're not related at all. :o

Now that S6 has officially started, thread is bumped. :wizard:

No known info on it yet, but it looks like the next new eppie is set for May 8th. And there's another one mentioned for May 29th in which viewers can vote on an ending online.
Foster’s: Race for Your Life!
Premieres Thursday, May 29th at 8:30pm e/p
It's the season six finale of Foster's and it's a race to the finish line! When Mac and Bloo decide to race home from the arcade, it turns out to be the race of their lives! But who will win? Is it Mac or is it Bloo?? We couldn't decide so we're leaving it up to YOU! Starting on May 19th viewers will be able to go online where they can help choose just who will be the big winner. But you'll have to tune in to find out who that is! And just in case you wanted to see the other ending, you'll be able to go online and see it right after the show!

S6 finale?? That doesn't seem right. It's too soon for the season finale to be airing. There must be some mix up there somewhere. I guess we'll just have to wait to be sure what exactly is up with that though. :wiltyeahright:

Can't be right. Unless my memory is falling apart, Lauren said at the 2007 Con that Season Six was ending with either a three-part episode or a movie.

Lynnie
03-20-2008, 11:14 PM
Yeah, I remember that. It may just be the statement about it being the S6 finale that's off, or it may be the date. Maybe instead of the finale, this is the movie. I'm kind of leaning toward the latter. Well, it shouldn't be too long before we find out for sure. ;)

I'm a little skeptical about what that forum has airing in May, but I don't doubt we'll be seeing something new from the FHFIF gang during that month. I was told that Season Six would continue into the second half of the year. It's way too early to assume that this is exactly what we'll be getting in May. Things do change (whether it's the episode title or the actual airing dates).

Edit: I didn't believe that was the Season Finale, either. Thanks, Lauren. :)

That's because there was in fact a Charlie Brown special by the name of
Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076591/) back in the great year of 1977. If I recall That was the one where Charlie Brown's sister Sally smacks some bloke at the beginning and Snoopy punches out a cat at the end. Fun times, fun times.

And nooooooooooooow back to the thread....

A gimmick episode, well don't that beat all...Sorry I don't really have much else to say other then I am rather intreguied by the premise and it goes with out saying that I'll try to catch this episode around the time it debuts.

If they go down that path, we'll have to deal with inevitable follow up episode involving Madam Foster waking up to find Herriman in the shower...alive and well, and he tells Madam F that it's 1965 and that he and Madam Foster are undercover detectives on the hot rod circuit.

Plus we'll have to deal with ninety percent of the episode involving everyone accusing Bloo of being the culprit (After all he would be the most obvious choice) but it will just end up being an accidental shooting at the hands of I don't know....say....Scrappy (The baby friend, introduced in "Better off ED") when Mr. H was trying to take away his lollipop in the previous episode.

Three-parter? Does that mean what I think it does? Fosters has never before done episodes that link to each other directly. So is it starting now, or am I misinterpreting? Even if I am misinterpreting, any intrerpretations of "three-part episode" would be awesome!

It's not without precedent. The pilot, House Of Bloo's, was originally shown as a three-part episode if I'm not mistaken. What the storyline of this three-parter will be, or who it will focus on (if anyone in particular) is anyone's guess at this point.

Well, most of those exact details appear to have been derived from the Simpsons' "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" two-parter, but correct, the concept itself was a homage to Dallas's "Who Shot J.R.?", and the scene in which Smithers finds Burns showering a direct nod to their season-erasing resurrection of Patrick Duffy in 1986. Only in Smithers' case there is an additional twist...ie: that was all a dream.

Correct on both counts, the fact I chose Scrappy (One of the Baby Friends...kind of) as the "culprit" was a nod to the ending of the Simpsons parody when it turned out that Maggie was the shooter. (It's been over ten years so that really isn't a huge spoiler anymore.)

Of course such an episode will never ever be necessary, as the writers would never have Mr. H do anything as evil as JR Ewing or C. Montgomery Burns.

"This thread gets more entertaining every day." :D

And even crazier by the nanosecond!

EDIT: And now we've learned the next episode will be "Mondo Coco", airing April 10th.

Is that seriously an episode!?! *Crosses fingers*
(In reference to "WSMH?")
The unused endings would be great as a DVD extra, and they'll probably do it.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, no it's not real. And the chances of a Foster's episode involving gunplay (actual gunplay, not the cartoonish bugs bunny, shot one second...totally fine the next.) coming to light even if the show wasn't ending would be very slim indeed.

Yeah, that was just a bad joke on my part. In addition to the points taranchula raised, I think that if Foster's made such a move they would probably suffer some severe lascerations from the online masses for ripping off the Simpsons. The fact that the Simpsons lifted the original concept from Dallas is kind of irrelevant.

House of Bloo's is on at 4 PM Eastern tomorrow (Saturday May 10th), CN

They're also having this Mother's day special (which they called "Yo Mama's day"... I'm not joking.) It's a "marathon" from noon-6PM (Eastern) of Foster's interspersed with Billy and Mandy.

all times eastern
2 PM Neighbor Pains
2:30 Cookie Dough
4:30 Cheese a go-go, Give pizza a chance
5:00 Say it isn't sew
5:30 Something old, something bloo
7:00 Bloo Tube (not part of "marathon." It's the latest episode)

Guess that while aren't any "Mother's day"-related episodes at all in Foster's, the schedulers decided to make it "Grandmother's day" instead... :mfoster:

Honestly, Cheese a Go-go should've been replaced with Infernal Slumber. That's the closest "Mother's Day" episode, I think. Mac's mom thinks he cleaned the apartment!

I'm hoping to get some more end credit sequences during the marathon; they sometimes actually show them during marathons.

Bump. Again. I can't decide where to put this, I guess here's the best spot other than starting a whole new thread, but I don't see a reason for doing that. At least it involves the last few episodes to air.
