This thread is for posting about why we like Frankie as much as we do, and let's face it, we like her a lot. But let's try to have more than a lot of content-less fluff here, okay? No "Oooo, she's so hawt!" posts, please; try to say something meaningful.

As I said at the start of the old thread, she's just about the classiest lady I know. There's a lot to admire about this lady; her compassion and her dedication to her job spring to mind immediately. I think she's an intelligent, capable woman who could do anything but chooses to do a low-paying, largely thankless job because it's something she strongly believes it, and that it's the right thing to do. That takes a lot of character, particularly in this day and age, and it says a lot about what kind of woman she is.

I've said many times before one of the things I love about toon women, Frankie especially, is they hold such admirable sets of values and morals and they are not so constantlyu tarnished by use of drugs and overly sexual flirtacious nature.

Frankie is a clean, good hearted, albeit a cranky lady (just like the song says ;)) who puts the world before herself and works a tireless, endless and as Cass said, THANKLESS job by cleaning, nursing, scrubbing, and basically making Foster's run smoothly 24/7.

She's a sweet person who clearly has alot of love to give and would make a loving girlfriend to any guy lucky enough to see what Frankie has to offer. I love the fact she can be just as wacky and crazy as the other Fosters crew. Just look at how she acted in "Big Cheese" "Cookie dough" and "World wide wabbit".

What can I say that hasn't made up the huge Frankie thread from before? I'll just start by saying that I just fell in love with her caring, loving and open personality. And the sound of her voice had this effect that really made me take notice when she had lines to deliver. She's also one of those characters that you really find yourself caring about. A good example is how we all must have cheered when she won the election in "Setting a President".:D

I really do not know what to say that has not been covered already. I just think she is a REAL character without the plastic fluff. She says what is on her heart, and there is no lying in her (except white lies). I love her eyelashes, her cute sneakers, and that red hair says a lot!

There's no doubt about it. Frankie has entertained us in many ways. As a cookie addict (Cookie Dough), a love goddess (Frankie My Dear), a political leader (Setting A President), but most of all, as a caring young woman.

I wish I could describe her even more, but I'm happy as she is! :-*

This was probably shown somewhere on the old thread for Frankie (which I do miss despite these dual threads for her :(), it's concept art of Frankie on how she "could" have looked in past and previous sketch concepts.

I found it nosing around Wikipedia out of boredom and it lists a pretty decent amount of information about her. Including her birthday and cell phone number (which happens to be 555-6300).

Anyways here's the pic: http://photos1.blogger.com/photoInclude/blogger/737/2681/1600/Frankie.png

That's one of the reasons I make screencaps and such; if the manufacturers won't make us any Frankie stuff, well, what's to stop us from doing it ourselves?

I appreciate Frankie Foster so very much that, at times I seem to appreciate the most simple and mundane things about her. Her clothes are example are especially lovely looking and I find it weird liking her clothes because I doubt alot of people can look good in an outfit like that.

Realistically, the green sweatshirt and the Power puff girls shirt would probably look weird on someone else. Same with the shoes. My favorite part of her outfit is the purple skirt, purple also happens to be my favorite color. But Frankie pulls off the look so well, I never ever get tired of seeing it.

Sometimes you stare at a character a long enough time, you'll get sick of looking at them in the same clothes over and over again but with Frankie, not the case .

One wonders how Craig came up with the design for the outfit. It's certainly eye-catching and yes, it looks great on her and never gets old. On the rare occasions that I see a purple skirt or a green sweatshirt on a real woman these days, well, it's an instant attention-getter. Not too long ago while making a grocery run I spotted a lady wearing that sweatshirt, and she had red hair, too, tied back in a ponytail. Stopped me dead in my tracks. 8D

After a lot of soul-searching I finally decided to change my avatar. Unlike a lot of people this wasn't a particularly easy decision for me. There are a lot of reasons why I did it, but the bottom line is that I am, first and foremost, a Frankie Foster fan. Cartoon or not she is first in my heart, first in my life, and I wanted to do something special to honor her. And this seemed like the best thread in which to do it. :-*

Now, where were we? Oh, yeah, the woman I saw awhile back. Could be a fan, but there's no way to know. There wasn't too much resemblance aside from the hair and the sweatshirt.

That's a really spankin' new avatar, Cass. It'll take some getting used to, though. You pretty much became Eduardo in my mind. :-/

As for Frankie's trademark green jacket, I have a pretty similar one myself. In fact, I think my immediate reaction to Ms. Foster, the first time I saw her, was "hmm, she has a jacket just like mine." I've had it for quite a while now, and it's been subjected to quite a bit of wear and tear within that time, plus some of the colour's been washed out, so I doubt it really measures up to hers much any more. But I'm still very attached to it, nonetheless.

Cassini90125

He's still my favorite IF. And I still like potatoes. ;D

I never see anyone in a purple skirt, though, except in cosplay photos. Or orange socks, now that I think about it, unless you count Velma from Scooby-Doo. Frankie's everyday outfit is kind of a patchwork ensemble of mismatched pieces, but on her it looks so right.

Sorry to change the subject here, but this has been on mind for a long time. I have been attracted to Frankie making faces (like her driver's license); I find it cute and somewhat sexy - and I do not know why. Everytime I see this: http://www.fosters-home.com/screengrabs/4/407-0084.jpg

The whole "horrible licensce picture" joke would be a whole lot less funny if it wasn't so true! You guys should see my student ID, it's almost as bad. Someone ripped the photo in half, so I have tow different shadings on either side of my face, in addition to the awful expression. And it does take a lot to make Frankie look bad.

Mr. Marshmallow
05-29-2007, 10:21 PM
The fact Frankie has such a bizarre picture makes me wonder what was going on at the time that photo was taken. Because usually bad photos come up from a weird smile or just thinking how you look is fine when in fact once you see it on film, it looks much worse then you thought.

However, Frankie doesn't look like she's trying to smile, she looks like someone slipped cactus flavored opium into her morning coffee or something. I bet she'd feel real embarassed if anyone on a date asked her what was going on in that photo. I think Frankie really doesn't feel she looks pretty and that's crazy.

Even in a drop dead gorgeous outfit, Frankie seems nervous about how she looks and it's a shame she doesn't really realize how down right beautiful and (if I could be allowed a bit of perverted machoism) really HOT! I'm amazed though she can continue to look so good with so much stress her body is put under.

Both physically and mentally considering she has to clean up, tolerate, and baby sit creatures that can become any shape, size, or personality with a simple thought in your brain.

Cassini90125
05-30-2007, 02:02 AM
I don't think we ought to read too much into the licensce photo; I think it was drawn that way simply for comic effect. Within the context of the show, maybe one of the IF's or Madam Foster was with her at the DOT office, made a goofy face at her, she made one back, and naturally that's when the camera went off.

It's fairly common for people to be insecure about their looks, even when they have no need to be. It's endearing, in a way; it's certainly easier to tolerate than an "I'm hot, and I know it" attitude, which is arrogant, annoying, and unattractive, and certainly not the Frankie Foster I know and love. :-*

Frankie definitely is refreshing in that sense. The whole "girl power" thing was fresh when it started, but it has become a cliche' in itself. Frankie avoids those by simply being a great character. She's kind and warm, yet has a temper and sense of morality. She's a very hard worker, yet she's laid back and casual. And she has just enough qwerks (COOKIES!) to make an already great character even more fun to tune in and watch.:D

Mr. Marshmallow
05-30-2007, 03:35 PM
Well the nice thing about Frankie is even though she doesn't flaunt or act like she's "all that", at least she would have reason to flaunt it because she IS all that. Most women who act like their beautiful and perfect are hollow and snotty on the inside, there's nothing beautiful or admirable on the inside about them.

Frankie is beautiful inside and out, she just can't always see the latter. The great thing is though she's a sweet heart through and through and always tries to be kind and understanding with others. In short, she really stands up for treating others respectively and stands up for herself when she deals with someone unreasonable.

She almost always gives Bloo or Herriman lip because in truth, they treat her no differently. But Frankie will always try and be nice when it comes to people she knows are genuinely good like Mac, Wilt, Eduardo etc.

I agree with Cass. I don't think Frankie is unusually insecure at all. Most people would be at least a little nervous about going on a date with someone they just met, who they think is very attractive. It's pretty normal to worry about measuring up and what they'll think of you.

I'd also have to agree that the driver's license thing was just supposed to be funny, because everyone's familiar with the "horrible license picture" phenom.

And yeah, the whole "arrogant vixen" thing is very unappealing; it's become an unflattering gender stereotype in itself.

I don't think she's "unusually insecure" but I do think she has a bit of it. Considering her choice of clothes for her dates, not just on the basis of her being nervous for her date.

And the license picture thing I was simply asking out of curiosity, it was after all a WEIRD face.

I can relate, not on the fact part but on something else. I found Frankie to look pretty sexy when she was covered in butter in the movie theater in "Cheese A go-go". It was a brief moment and I know Frankie really didn't enjoy having butter globbed all over her.

But I found it rather cute looking on her and found it a quite becoming look on sweet Frankie :bloosmirk:.

LOL! It is hard to see Frankie have a bad day by getting dirt and/or food stuffs on her but I do have to say that in "Bloooooo" when Frankie was all wet, covered in mud and scared out of her wits, I just wanted to give her a big hug. I don't think she gets enough of those. 8D

It's as good a theory as any. I'd love to see an episode where they explain it; maybe Frankie goes to the DMV to renew her license and brings Bloo along because he won't stop screaming and whining when she tries to leave him at the House. He soon discovers that the DMV is even more boring than Madam Foster's fabric store. The rest of the episode has Frankie trying to keep Bloo under control and out of trouble as he desperately tries to entertain himself. At the end of the day she looks like hell, and off goes the DMV camera. She gets justice, however, as the DMV camera also catches Bloo doing something horrifically embarassing (I'll leave that part to your imaginations), and she makes him sweep and mop every floor in the house to keep the photo private.

One thing I appreciate about Frankie is the fact she's gotten so much more heavily involved in the last couple of the episodes. She's had at least 2 decent sized involved roles in the last 2 concurrent running episodes "Cheese a go-go" and "Buck swaps here", and while she didn't do as much in the latter episodes "say it isn't sew" and "something old, something bloo", I'm still happy.

Frankie is doing alot more for the show it's great seeing her in much more prominent roles then just occasionally vanishing after the first 15 minutes, or disappearing completely with no reason explained whatsoever (I'm looking in your direction "Make believe it or not!"). Even if Frankie is going through all kinds of hell like she usually does, I love her additions to the show.

She's still nice and supportive and helpful, like with Eduardo's money problems (before getting side tracted), and even going out of her way to help Cheese even though it ended up being s BIG mistake. Even that unknown crazy ass plan she had made for getting Bloo out of the old folks home. I think all of these instances are signs of Frankie taking a much more parental role.

She's going out of her way to help the Foster's gang in more ways then simply scrubbing their toilets and making their dinner every night. I may be over exaggerating her role in the recent episodes and blowing this out of proportions, but I think it's a good sign Frankie's involvement has definitely increased as of lately.

That's the way i see it anyway.

Medikor
06-18-2007, 03:43 PM
I think all of that just shows that, despite her occasional bouts of her thinking that she'll be stuck in the house for her whole life and never get married, ect, She wouldn't want to be anywhere else when it all comes down to it. I'm sure that she would get homesick if she left and tried to get away from her life at Fosters.
She's just so dedicated to others and that's what makes her so endearing and likable as a character. And I am very glad to see her have more and more big roles in the show.:D

And yeah, it's great to see her getting more screen time and bigger roles, too. Frankie is one of my favorite characters, probably because she’s the one I feel I can relate to the most. Although I like all the Foster’s episodes, the ones I like the least are usually the ones where Frankie is having a really bad day (“Imposter’s Home for…um, Make-Em-Up Pals”, “Cheese a Go-Go”, “Emancipation Proclamation”). I just feel so bad for her! Sometimes it’s too close to real life, and it almost makes me sick if you know what I’m saying. I understand it’s funny to see someone who’s responsible, level-headed, and innocent suffer to an extant, but I don’t want to see her suffer that much! :(

As for the Glitterfy Frankie pics, I think they’re both awesome! The star one catches the eye more, but I think the heart one is more festive. It looks like someone threw confetti over her, and I think we all know, she’s deserving of that.

I can understand how you feel bad about what Frankie had to go through far as "Imposters" and "Cheese A go-go" is concerned, however I honestly wouldn't say that "Emancipation" ranks anywhere near a nightmare experience that Frankie has endured in comparison to those episodes and a few other ones.

Frankie only got locked in a closet after she found out about Lincoln's plans, Mac got the same treatment and so did Mr. Herriman (who faired off much worse then Frankie if you ask me) with "first lady" and all. I'd say "Bloooo" she got it worse then in "Emancipation" also, but I actually enjoyed "Bloooo" very much.

Either way, the nice thing is that no matter which episode she gets treated poorly, and which hellish nightmare she's forced to endure, Frankie always manages to spring back smiling cheerfully, happily, and lovingly as she always does. It takes some STRONG nerves to tolerate the stuff she puts up with.

Yeah, you're right. Frankie didn't really suffer any more than most everyone else did in "Emancipation". I guess I was referring more to the fact she seemed to be the only one who was suspicious of Lincoln from the beginning. I actually liked the eppy "Bloooo", I found it unique. I still felt sorry for her, though. Especially since it would only make sense if she got sick too in the end. :frankiemad:

Last Sunday evening I opened my email bulk box and found this:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f184/Cassini90125/DCT.jpg

I leave it to you guys to imagine what I felt in that moment; for a split second, my wildest dreams had come true. A moment later I came back to reality and I said to myself, "Okay what the hell??" The email was obviously not from Frankie; upon opening it, I discovered that the contents had nothing to do Frankie or Foster's whatsoever. Still, the subject line lingered in my head: A rose for my love. I haven't been able to get it out of my mind since I saw it, probably because Frankie's birthday is just around the corner. I wanted to get her something, even though there's really no point in buying a gift for a cartoon character. I was going to shrug it off as just another fantasy when something at a local convenience store caught my eye, the email and the birthday clicked together, and, well, here's what I bought, a rose for my love:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f184/Cassini90125/ARFML01.jpg

The rose is frosted glass with a fragrant liquid inside that smells much like a real rose. The pic above was shot with my camera's flash active; the one below has the flash off:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f184/Cassini90125/ARFML02.jpg

The red glow comes from an LED and a miniature battery. And I did give it to Frankie, in a way:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f184/Cassini90125/ARFML03.jpg

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f184/Cassini90125/ARFML04.jpg

It also has a small speaker built in; while the rose glows it plays an old classical song. It's quite enchanting. Just like the lady I bought it for. I know I can never really give her anything, but maybe that's not so important. Maybe it's the thought that matters, or the smile on my face when I see my Frankie plush holding that rose. I feel pretty good right now; I hope you guys get something out of these pics, too.

A day early, but what the heck; I'll celebrate her any day. Happy birthday, Frankie Foster. :-*

It's very cute and very sweet, I sadly don't think I could divulge myself into the possibility Frankie would send me a rose. Maybe it's my occasional lack of self confidence in my looks or identity or possibly it's just my reality brain having the rare occasion of outweighing my fantasy brain's thoughts.

That's a wonderful gift Cass and I wish you and especially our lovely red headed hottie Frankie Foster a most pleasant birthday. I just feel kinda crummy though knowing I can't really produce a piece of art, a music video, or something similar to these photos to give Frankie a sense of commemoration or dedication.

:( I hate not being able to contribute stuff like that to this forum, or any of the forums I go to. But either way I wish Frankie the best and I just wanted to say how nice it feels to actually wish a fictional character a birthday, usually I thought it was a stupid idea but, now I see and feel what people mean by it.

That's just too sweet, Cassini! I got a rose similar to that at Disneyland 11 years ago. I loved it so much, I put it in a bud vase and used it kind of like a night-light. It was very soothing to see in a dark room, like a candle or something. Hope Frankie gets as much happiness from yours as I did from mine. :-*

I get emails occasionally dated from 1905. The first time I saw the date on one I was floored! LOL! 8D

I also bought her a card but I didn't have time to do anything with it or anything else, as I had to complete preparations for the Con trip. I'm typing this on my new laptop in my hotel room in San Diego. All that's a story in itself but it belongs in another thread. I am sorry if I am changing the subject, please for give me, but I very much appreciate Frankie Foster. The reason for this is she chooses to work at Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I say this because she probably has had several other opportunities to work at other jobs that would give her much higher pay. However she turned down all of this to work at Foster's, not for herself, but for others. And she receives constant fire from Mr. Herriman, trouble, and messes to clean up around the house all day; as well as cooking for a hundred people or so. This is why I appreciate Frankie Foster, because she is selfless. And so for these reasons she has earned much more than my modicum of respect.

Just as a sign of continued appreciation to Frankie (and my only means of contributing something on her sweet red headed behalf ;)), I spliced together this new Frankie signature pic from the old one Cass made from me using images I also downloaded from Cass.

Granted it probably looks a bit choppier then my first one and it is a cheap means of "making" something, but I'm pretty happy how this came out and I already know Cass is okay with it. Anyways, I just wanted to show this off to you guys and flash off my love for Frankie once again in my signature.

Cassini90125
10-06-2007, 11:42 AM
Yeah, those two outfits looked great, the pink & purple ensemble in particular. I think they're both largely underrated by most fans, and while I really love the little black dress I do think it's a little bit overrated, although not much. I'd like to see her in something a little more complex.

Mr. Marshmallow
10-06-2007, 03:04 PM
I actually thought the purple and pink dress was quite the complicated outfit. I mean it was the first time we ever saw Frankie wear anything other then her trademark outfit, but it was also the only outfit she really changed her hair on. The black dress, the fairy costume, all her outfits kept the same hair.

The pink dress however made a total change and I think that outfit is what really nailed the "Frankie attraction factor" for everyone because it was like a complete transformation for both the viewers and the characters. I'd love to see it again, but it's SO hard not to find that black dress so utterly delicious 8D.

Frankie could land any guy with eyeballs in that get up, heh. But seriously, it was nice to see her don the dress again and I hope she continues to try on some different outfits. Funny thing though, Frankie complained about her dignity in the fairy costume, yet I thought her "fake friend" outfit in "Imposter's" was FAR more degrading.

It was almost as painful to watch Frankie in that fake imaginary friend costume as the SSSS: super sad scrubbing scene.

Shelltoon
10-06-2007, 04:04 PM
The way I see it, the black dress is designed for formal occasions, and since the opening was a formal occasion... yeah, it was only fitting to see her in the black dress. I do admit, it would be nice if we could see Frankie in the pink and purple again, it's a cute look for her.

I didn't post this earlier because y'all already think I'm insane when it comes to Frankie, but I need to tell you about it. Some of you may recall that I told you about what I did when Imposter's first aired; specifically, the part where I was so angry at Gooftard that I got out of my chair and approached my TV, intent on doing some serious hurt to him. I stopped myself because it was obviously pointless to try, but it didn't change how I felt. Well, something similar happened a few days ago during The Little Peas, during that really sad scene where Frankie is saying, "Nothing ever works out for me. I'm such a loser." I'm out of my chair again and saying, "Oh, Frankie, no," as I head for the TV, and then I'm sitting there with my hand on the screen, the spot where her hand is, knowing that I'm accomplishing nothing but too moved to stop.

I've never met a TV character, real or otherwise, who touches me as deeply as this wonderful lady. Hell, I'm not sure I've met anyone on this side of the screen who does. She puts up with so much on the show, is constantly used and treated like an object on other sites, and now this? It isn't right. I know it's her role on the show to be the overworked, overstressed caretaker, and honestly I don't have a problem with that; it's a funny role, and she does it well. But to rewrite the show's history and take away one of her rare moments of triumph? I feel like it was an act of betrayal. They need to give her an episode of her own - no, at this point she deserves a full-length movie, and so do her fans. They can put her through hell (and probably will) but as long she gets a huge win that's fine, and I'd like to see the rest of the cast finally say "Thank you" for all the hard work she does for them and the House. (And no pairings, but you already know where I stand on that.) She's earned at least that much, if not more.

Yeah, I've probably gone over the top again, I know, but I had to get this off my chest. Everybody needs to vent now and then. In the meantime, I feel the need to do another tribute pic of some sort. If y'all want your names on it, like I did with the Valentine's Day card I made back in February, let me know, either here or by private message.

Medikor
11-25-2007, 10:42 AM
That was quite the moving story, Cass. I've yet to see that episode but it does sound like a kick in the teeth. But I'm sure the Fosters crew is building up to something. Frankie's popularity can't possibly be going unnoticed by them. If/when they make another Fosters special I'm sure it will be very much what you, and many of us, are hoping for.
Frankie's character is a wonderfulcell opportunity for some real quality story telling, emotion and, most importantly, a feel good ending for our favorite red headed care giver. Oh and I'd love to be included on that special pic you're working on.

*EDIT*

That's a great idea, Shelltoon. Showing the powers that be just how important our favorite character is to us would be a great thing. But it would probably be better to send it to Craig and Lauren since they're real people and not CN bigwigs.;)

You don't really have to ask me if i want my name on it do you :-* heh, sure as Hell I do. In regards to your truly wonderful little speech there Cass (It really was nice), I hope you don't mind if I be a little honest with you and I pray it doesn't harm our friendship as it is not my intention.

To be perfectly truthful, I honestly find the whole going to the screen thing a tad strange, strange but understandable. I myself have never done such a thing nor do I think I will, no matter what love I have for a character. The most I do is cringe, look away, or just groan and dread when something bad happens to that character.

The strongest toon girls I have ever done that for are Sailor Jupiter and Frankie, no other has really had that strong of an effect on me and I'm pretty equally devoted to each of them. My closest form of venting would be what I do in fan fics with characters I feel I want to make happy because of their mistreatment on the show.

And those two I mentioned are no exception to being mistreated by their shows creators. Bad as "Peas" was, I can easily watch that episode again despite how much it sucked over the abominable "Imposter's" (I won't even dare glimpse at "Surprise for you" again). But what Frankie said in "Peas" truly was the worst thing she's been through.

Frankie has been through hell in quite a few episodes, sometimes it didn't bother me "Bloooo!", "Store Wars". Other times it REALLY bothered me "Imposter's", "The Big Peas". But the amazing thing about her was she was strong enough to bounce back from anything, even at the end of "Imposter's" she sprang back.

Which is one of the biggest problems with the ending to "Peas". Frankie sprang back from the news crew disaster with that poor house idea, it was a sign of her strength as a person who endures SO much from SO many. What's worse is as Cass said, to actually HEAR her call herself a loser, it's unthinkable.

Its almost heartbreaking to think she would EVER use such a word to describe herself, she is anything but a loser considering all the things she does for everyone.

No offence taken, don't worry about it. As I said way back in the old thread, we each deal with our feelings in different ways. Believe me, it wasn't something I'd planned on; it just happened, that's how strong my feelings were.

The hardest part about all of it was hearing Frankie calling herself a loser. We might expect Bloo to call her that, and we'll roll our eyes and be annoyed with him, but to hear Frankie say that of herself... wow. That caught me completely off-guard. All the hard work she does around that house, all the cooking, the cleaning, maintainence work, gardening, shopping, and sticking with it year after year because she's dedicated to doing so and because she believes it's the right thing to do, that is so not a loser, not to me, and I dare say not to anyone who considers himself or herself to be a fan or a friend. Foster's would fall apart without her, without this winner, to hold it together. So I'm going to stop here and say something that I've never heard any of the other residents say but truly needs to be said, and I know in my heart that I speak for many of you as well as I say this:

Thank you, Frankie Foster, for everything that you do. :-*

I just gave Peas a watch and something struck me very early on in the episode. I believe Peas is actually a representation of us Frankie fans. Peas was pleading to the other friends about how ungrateful they are about everything she does for them and the house but his words, much like ours, fell on deaf ears.
Like us, Peas truly appreciated Frankie yet was unable to let her know or cheer her on when she needed it. But what really intrigued me was that he did eventually manage to help her out. I may be grasping at strings here, but I really feel that the people behind Fosters made this episode as a nod to us. Yes it was hard to see Frankie actually be hard on herself, but I honestly feel that it was us that helped her pick herself back up and help her out when she needed it most.

Wow, *slaps forehead* That is amazing, and you could actually be onto something there! Now, for a "kiddie show" that's only supposed to appeal to the 4-10 year-old demographic, that would indeed be a pretty deep metaphore, if indeed that is the case! I know that Bloo's theories about who created Wilt and all the horrific things that Wilt supposedly did in the past was a comedic tip of the hat to us Wilt fangirls, but I honestly never would have thought of Peas as being symbolic for Frankie's male fans!

I've gotten up and walked to the screen before. Usually because I'm touched somehow and want to hug someone. So I get up and send a virtual hug to them. :) I probably do it to Mac more than anyone else, but I've done it a time or two for Frankie, too. In "TLP" when I heard her sob, and she called herself a loser, I felt a lump rise in my throat and I held my arms out to her and said "No you're not!" I seriously felt like tearing up there for a second. I didn't actually get up this time, but I did give her a virtual hug.

Yeah, add my name to whatever project you're doing, Cass.

Also, I agree Medikor's theory is very interesting. That's a very good point.

Medikor really does make a point. Peas does seemed to symbol for the Frankie fans. I do feel really guilty seeing Frankie cry in "The Little Peas", I really made me wish I was in the cartoon or I would have done something about it. That's part of the reason why I made my characters at DA.

Let's just hope this doesn't mean the creators view us as microscopic, annoying, pestering, speck sized Frankie fans like we see Peas as.

I'd hate to think we look/sound like THAT to the creators.

I also think that theory is well worth bearing in mind. Of course, if it is true, it would be a sign that pandering to base too much is a bad thing. I may or may not have remembered to include this during the episode discussion.

Okay, "Frankie my dear" was just on like a couple days ago, or yesterday, anyway I didn't have the time to watch all of it because I was busy with other things but as I watched it again, I was really amazed at something I found out. I was SO touched by seeing Frankie's little "tipsy dance" when she felt she was in love.

I think it truly was a credit to DeLisle by speaking in such an adorable, cutesy voice when Frankie was all lovey dovey and what not. It's virtually a pointless and minor thing to talk about, but I never realized how rare it is to see Frankie in a genuinely care free mood, no stress or worries or temper tantrums when she was dancing like that.

I just thought it was the cutest damn thing I had seen on the show. This is probably pretty "minor" in terms of stuff to talk about for Frankie's appreciation thread, but I felt this was a somewhat needed change from all the depressing talk about her getting crapped on thanks to the "Peas" episode.

It was very cute, yeah. It does make me wonder what it would be like to hang out with her on one of her rare days off, away from the House and all the worries and responsibilities that go with it. To be honest, I don't think she'd really be all that different than the Frankie we all know and love, just... well, I hate to say "Sunnier" but it's the word that's stuck in my head right now. I'd love to see a few more good "awww" moments like that on the show.

I actually think it would be different because she wouldn't have to worry about anything. In fact, if you look at ALL of Frankie's free days or free moments, she ends up getting stressed about something because something ends up bugging her. Even on her date with Dylan, she seemed genuinely "free" until Orlando Bloo showed up.

What I liked about that little tipsy scene was for a brief minute or so, Frankie was totally cleaned out of any fear of responsibility in her head. Which for her is a miracle another one of the reasons I liked it. Frankie even told Mac in "Squeeze" how lucky he is that he doesn't have ass loads of responsibilities to pile on his head and ruin his fun days.

That whole beach thing alone was another example of a stress free Frankie that ended up causing problems. Although it was kind of worth it to see Wilt end up being responsible for something so mysterious it got them all banned for the beach :bendy: something about that mystery to it makes it all worth wild.

Cassini90125
12-08-2007, 05:32 PM
I don't think she'd be different in that she'd seem like she was someone else, like the Pod People or something. It would still be the same Frankie, just relaxed and carefree, same as if you or me or anyone had our burdens lifted for a time. We'd all be happy, and that's what would show, but our underlying personalities would be the same. Like I think, for instance, that on a carefree day off, Frankie would be just as quick with a wry comment or sarcastic answer, but the character of such a response would be more playful, more of a teasing kind of thing that something with a "get off my back and let me work" tone, if that makes any sense, and you would see and hear the difference in her smile and her voice. In that regard she might seem very different but she'd still be the same Frankie.

It is nice to see Frankie so carefree and happy. I was glad (if a little jealous) that someone/something could make her so happy.
It's always a joy when she has a cute moment like that or when she went all fan-girl about Madame Foster's actions. And lets not forget her whole "I'm sowwy, Mr. Harriman" line. One of my favorites will always be when she was overwhelmed by the comfort of that massage chair.

I went to my local Walgreens earlier today, as I do almost everyday. As you might expect at this time of year, they have an isle chock-full of Valentine's Day goodies. Seems that all of it reminds me of Frankie in some way. I look at a box of chocolates and I think of her going crazy over Madame Foster's cookies in Cookie Dough. All the red packaging reminds me of the color of her hair, of course. Then there's the crystal; every piece of sculpted or spun glass, when it catches the light at the right angle, makes me think of the sparkle in her smile and her eyes. Every verse on every card seems like it's something I'd want to say to her. And all the plushies with their arms outstretched like they want to be held, they remind me of how much I'd like to hold her, to share a few moments of the warmth I feel for her. But even without all the merchandise around, Valentine's Day still makes me think about Frankie more than usual, because it's a day about love, pure and simple, uncluttered by the nonsense that permeates the other holidays, a wonderful day when you can look in the eyes of that special person you know and say, "Today is all about you and nothing but you, and you are so worth it." So for me, at least, Valentine Day is all about Frankie, and no one but Frankie. And she is so worth it. :-*

Mr. Marshmallow
01-20-2008, 03:20 PM
Truth be told, Valentine's day has never been a big holiday of mine. Most likely due to the fact that as far back as I can remember, I have never had anyone that I could truly share valentine's day with. When it comes around I don't really feel too sad about it since I've gotten used to it for such a long time.

Maybe someday when I do find a woman I can love and share things, valentine's day can share a deeper meaning as I really would like to. As weird as it sounds, I look forward to the day that I have someone I can blows wads of cash on to buy chocolates, cheesy love cards, and flowers for someone. That's a situation I still to this day look forward to.

I personally have to commend you Cass for housing such a strong love for Frankie that you can associate so much with her. I do the same with Sailor Jupiter but not through Valentine's day. Its nice to see someone being so passionate towards something and finding that passion in the simplest things.

Probably the most comforting I think about with Frankie and valentine's day is that you don't have to worry about buying the wrong kind of flowers or doing anything super extravagant for her. Frankie is the kind of person that would appreciate the simplest of gestures with great affection and a person who can do that truly is worth spending money AND time on.

I think everyone is referring to this...

I thought people were exaggerating when they told Craig about obscene Frankie pics all over the net. But after browsing for Frankie art in DevART, my god is it true. More than half of the time there are pics of her being pregnant, pantyshots, both, or other sick fetishes people come up with....

Which as they said is the very sad truth, but then again this sort of thing is nothing new as many a cartoon lady has been objectified in such a manner, over and over again.

For what reason? I don't know and quite frankly I don't want to know or even care. I'll just ignore it and concentrate on supporting those artists who bring actual creativity to the table (IE Everyone on this very forum) rather then supporting those who rely on pure shock value in order to get a few hits or pageviews.

Don't I wish. I'd drain my savings account for a Frankie Barbie but Mattel has not seen fit to create one. It's really too bad, too; they did a truly spectacular job when they made a Barbie version of Daphne from Scooby-Doo, and if they made a Frankie of that quality, she'd be almost beyond belief. :-*

In general I think that regardless of which character it is, the homemade Foster's memorabilia is of better quality than most of the commercially made stuff. Cass, that is one beautiful card! I think we all know who the REAL Frankie fans are (even the ones that did not submit their names, but still show up to pay homage to our revered redhead).

I have a list 8D. Seriously, I almost didn't bother asking, as I'm pretty clear on who really cares about her and respects her, but it never hurts to double-check. One never knows if someone new might want to be included.

The image of the Rosette Nebula is courtesy of the guys at NASA, who's pics of stars, planets, and other jewels in the sky have provided wonderful backgrounds for many different subjects. The pic of Frankie is from Everyone Knows It's Bendy, with a few minor alterations. I considered doing this year's card with my very photogenic Frankie Sim but decided that the original would probably be more appropriate for this thread.

Glad everyone enjoyed it.

My thanks to all.

Some of you saw the pics I did recently of my Sailor Jupiter Sim imposed over different background images. Well, if I can do something like that for Lita then obviously I've got to do something similar for Frankie sooner or later, and this is what I came up with. I know it looks like I'm trying to deify her or something but really, that's not my intent; I just wanted to do something special for her. Anyway, here it is:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f184/Cassini90125/FCIRX.jpg

The original pic came from my Sims 2 game; the background is from NASA. The finished pic was produced with Paint. I was really happy with how this turned out.

You know that's the funny thing about liking a character so much. You find that even things that are not supposed to be cute or likable look REALLY sexy on a character. Like when Frankie was dumped in butter and being hugged to death by Bloo and Eduardo in "Cheese a-go-go". I just thought she looked cute like that.

And even though she was crapping her panties in the "Blooooo!" episode from being locked out, I kind of thought she looked cute even being freaked in that episode too. Only time that something bad happened to her I didn't like at all was obviously, with Goofball's antics forcing her to scrub the floor for the "depressing montage".

I didn't much care for the "I'm such a loser" scene in that revisionistic The Little Peas, either, although Gooftard was certainly worse. But you're absolutely right about how feelings can make a difference when you look at someone. I've alread posted about that subject regarding a woman I used to know named Beth so I won't repeat that here. Another example I know of comes from an episode of Frasier, during the story arc where Daphne gained an awful lot of weight. Everyone could see it except Niles, but maybe he just didn't care; he was seeing the woman he loved, who he'd been in love with for so long. Who she was had become more important than how she looked, and no matter how heavy she got she'd always be beautiful to him. There's an important lesson in there about how human beings see each other.

I'm sure a certain percentage of Frankie's cuteness may come from Mr. Mackracken's penchant for cute characters (the Powerpuff Girls come to mind). But, as been stated countless times before, the wonderful personality that was made part of her character is what really draws you in.:D

I think Frankie is overlooked at times by the foster crew, she gets way less self-centered episodes than the other characters. She has been giving a bit less screentime in some eps and none at all. I think its because more children are attractied to the IF's than the human characters. But the adults like me like the human characters like frankie because of the lifelike personality they have.

I swear that some people in IR are like frankie.

You know, I honestly don't remember. I've got so many screencaps and other pics of her that it's hard to keep track of where they all came from. That particular pic was altered, by the way; in the original pic her eyes were looking to the left instead of toward us.

I'm sorry I missed that photo earlier, very nice job as always Cass! That's actually a very lovely pic of Frankie, I like it much better then the generic one wikipedia has of her with that red lip line she always has. Always nice to see my name associated with supporting Frankie valentine's day love.

The photo looks great, as always, Frankie's mailbox would probably explode with the amount of love pictures and dedication images you've made for her Cass.

Sorry about the low quality and the watermark, both of which were deliberate on my part, as was adding my name at the bottom; I don't want random guests running off copies of this one. It's one-of-a-kind and pretty dang special; Craig drew her for me at Comic Con last year. In the original picture she's facing to the right; what you see above is a mirror image, flipped with Paint. Definitely a treasure, just like the lady it depicts. :-*
