Ok, any news on when the new episodes are supposedto air? I thought they were this month. :(

I may be wrong, but wasn't it Wikipedia that said new episodes would come on February(I saw that date given on the Episodes page at the time of GWH)? I've never seen any official source actually say it would be in February.

I really wish we would get some sort of new news about Season 5. IMO, they've kept us in the dark for way too long.

Don't know why, it's just a hunch.

I don't remember the crew actually saying that the new season would begin this month. The only thing that said anything about any new episodes for this month was some Spanish guide showing a list of episodes, including one that's apparently for the fifth season. I can only say that I was told a little more than a week ago that the crew is still working on the series, so don't worry, we WILL have new episodes.

I'm willing to wait up to even the summer for Season 5, but I wish they would give some new information already. I don't like how they're so vague about everything new Foster's-related.

This prolonged wait is making me feel as anxious as I am eager. I won't deny that I have my own personal hopes and expectations on S5; mainly having to do with how Frankie will be used. I'm still worried that there will be another IHFUMEUP-esque fiasco in which she will be blatantly mistreated and abused.

It bugs me that we don't know what's going on... :terrconf:

So, they HAVE been working on the show... that's a relief.

Of course, I can wait. I've waited nearly two years for Season Four of Kim Possible; I can wait for this.

BUT IT BETTER NOT TAKE TWO YEARS because then I will be extremely sad.

I don't want to seem obnoxious... but I want to know what's happening.

Hmm... It shall be interesting to see how the characters will be used/changed.

I mean, look back at season one and compare it to season four. The way the voice actors voice their characters have changed, we see more personality, we found out more about Wilt. Something's bound to change.

I also wonder how Goo will be shown. In season four, she was in a lot of the episodes, even if it was just a quick cameo. I really hope they don't overuse her, but don't forget about her either. I thiink her character needs to develop some...

Same goes for Cheese, who can be incredibly annoying if used in the wrong situation.

Ugh. I don't want too much of those characters in S5. I think after S4, we got bored of Cheese and Goo. A bit.

And I agree with Voxxyn. It'd be lame if they put in another Anti-Frankie episode - it's visible what this one caused... :wiltshock:

Of course, I'm sure we'll get to see them, too... In 2008, then, but at least it's something - we might get S4 in March here!
Whatever time S5 gets released - I'm gonna be on YouTube a lot... ;)

Cheese will be back, whether we want him or not. He's a major mascot for CN and universally adored by children. 80%-90% of the newly-registered user accounts here are Cheese fans(Yeah, most of them never actually post at all ::), but still). As for Goo, I'm sure they'll be more careful this time in using her.

This prolonged wait is making me anxious, both positively and negatively. I want to see a new Frankie-centered episode, I really do. Season 4 didn't have one(despite sharing the spotlight in "The Big Cheese"), so I hope Season 5 will make up for that. And more importantly, I want it to be something wonderful that will bring joy instead of pain to her fans.

Which ones were "disasterous"? Well, aside from That Make 'em up one that everyone hates. I really didnt mind it too much.

The last couple of episodes to me seemed a bit...stretched for humor and kind of boring to me. I thought "Bloos the Boss" (3rd to last episode) was hilarious, then "Emancipation Complication" (second to last ep) was pretty lame, then "Make believe it or Not"(last ep) was even worse. I dunno. Im sure S5 will be great...whenever it airs... ::)

Should there be any more episodes with CHeese, we should also see some more of Louise. Even if she makes a brief cameo saying she is giving Cheese to Foster's to be put up for adoption. Perhaps Frankie, who is still peeved with Cheese after "The Big Cheese" tries to get Louise to change her mind, unless Louise's parents said that she had to give Cheese up.

You know... I really hope the reason for the prolonged wait is because they've been paying attention to what we've said on this forum, and are using our feedback to revise and improve their work, and ensure that there won't be any unwarranted cruel crap to threaten the show's integrity. That would make the wait much sweeter for me.

I know it's illogical and unfair for them to act on literally all of our comments/criticisms, but they shouldn't completely ignore them either, especially not the glaring ones(Cruelty against sympathetic characters, overexposure of Cheese/Goo, Mac and Bloo treating each other like enemies instead of friends). The show would've been sunk in Season 3 if it continued any further in the footsteps of IHFUMEUP and FGTE.

I'm sure Cartoon Network is taking time on alot of their projects, and I know that they value their popular shows enough to take enough time to make them satisfactory for (us) the fans. I do hope though that Vox is right and they are taking at least SOMEWHAT of a general look at our thoughts and feelings.

I always felt that this is one thing all TV producers and creators should be doing, getting a look inside their fan's heads and actually seeing what works and what doesn't. Fans make or break a show and what better way to make them happy by actually listening to what they want to see?

Foster's crew as well as the show seems to be open to almost all things imaginable so I think that's a good nod that they care about the fans thoughts, knowing that certain shows mean the world to people. In related news, I read an online article stating that Ben 10, Foster's, and Camp Lazlo are all coming back.

They've been reinstated with new seasons as well as their subnetwork (WB)'s cartoon shows, The Batman, Legion of Superheroes, Scooby and Shaggy get a clue and the new Tom/Jerry show they got going now. The article also mentioned that it's very likely that this will be Lazlo's LAST new season.

No new episodes in March, either. :P Just got a hold of someone from TZ that follows the scheduling. Most of what CN is doing is movies, and only new episodes of Billy and Mandy for the month of March. Maybe April? We know that Season Five is coming, but the wait continues.

They can only say so much. The crew doesn't decide on when something airs. That's for the network to make these decisions. And if this show were to be cancelled, we would've know by now.

Hey! I Heard in Wikipedia about Season 5 and says that They need a title, but Has something to with them going to the amusment park.

Yes, we already know about that one. This is the upcoming episode that Craig tells about in his taped interview at last summer's Comic-Con, tentatively titled "A Loom of One's On". The premise has the Foster's gang going to the State Fair, and Bloo trying to get there before everyone else does by riding with Madame Foster in the Pontiac Firebird(and we all have seen how she drives), instead of the slow Foster's bus. On the way, Madame Foster decides to stop at a fabric shop. If you have ever been to a fabric shop with an old lady, you will understand Bloo's(deserved)frustration; he is stuck there for hours, while the others are having fun at the fair! THAT episode is legitimate, but WATCH OUT and beware of Wikipedia as a source of information about upcoming episodes of Fosters, since that site is notorious for misinformation, often intentionally posted by "trolls" to mislead viewers. What we do NOT know, though, is WHEN Season Five will start airing, and I really would not trust Wikipedia for that information!

::stalks Craig and Lauren:: MORE EPISODES!!! NOW! :P

LOL j/k ^.^

Well, it's been a long time, but, you know what they say...good things come to those who wait.
Did anyone think the short with Bloo taping the messages on the answering machine was sort of a nod to us fans? I could have SWORN there was a thread where someone was impersonating Mr. Herriman and a message on the Foster's answering machine, and then more of us thought that would make a great scene in an episode.
::nods:: Yep, yep, I notice these things. (Ok I'm a little slow sometimes, but HEY...)

I'll squeal with glee if we see more true friendship between Mac/Bloo. Awwww! Who doesn't love an episode about what this show is about?
The fighting is funny at times, don't get me wrong, but like Vox was pointing out, there was just too much of it last season and one wondered if those two really did like each other or not.
More heart, dear Mr. McCracken, more heart. ;)

And Wilt? All he has to do is speak. Gawd, I love his voice. I could listen to it all day. ::snuggles the Wiltster::

I'd just like to add that I believe the Mac/Bloo friendship had some wonderful moments in Season 4 to balance the fighting and Bloo's ocassional super-nastiness. "Squeeze the Day" was the highlight, but I also thought it was adorable at the end of "Neighbor Pains" when they indignantly ran after the Rivers' car because of the funny faces made by Little Man Rivers and his new IF.

And, oh yeah, I want more Frankie... at least she'll be the star of this month's CN Block Party issue, coming out this Wednesday...

AAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!

*cough*

I'm sorry for that; that was just my impression of "a devout Foster's fan expessing three months of bottled frustration that his favourite show has apparently gone on an extended an unexplained hiatus". I think you'll agree it was quite convincing.

Hello everybody, I'm back, to anyone who remembers me. :) Well, actually, I've been back from my trip for a couple of weeks now, but I've unfortunately been busy with work; overwhelmingly, soul-smotheringly busy, actually, and I will continue to be so until June. As a result, I've only been allowing myself to pop into Never Forgotten periodically to check whether there's been any news on Season Five, and I was planning to start posting again as soon as we got some; however, since that prospect now seems fairly remote, I've decided to post again now, if only to vent a little. :frankiemad:

Let me first clarify; I totally understand that creating a season of an animated show isn't casual work. I'm sure it would time-consuming, labour-intensive stuff, particularly going into the fifth season of a show that's been riding high on popular acclaim, critical kudos and awards recognition (congrats to Craig and the crew again on that, by the way! :D ); quite frankly, they can have all the time in the world, if that's what it takes to maintain the quality that we've come to expect from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends.

But what's the deal with the total radio silence? ??? I've been checking for news on Toon Zone, IGN, TV.com and the like almost daily, and nothing, zip, nada, zilch. Since Good Wilt Hunting aired, numerous trade shows and conventions have been and gone, and we've heard all sorts of updates on new Cartoon Network shows, Billy and Mandy TV movies, Ben 10 spin-offs; no mention of Foster's whatsoever. BLOGregard Q. Kazoo has had no updates since October 8th; Craig didn't update to mark the DVD announcement, the DVD release, or even the Annie wins. Lauren's blog has been active enough - she mentioned the Annies, at least - but that's the blog for her Galaxy Girls characters, so I don't expect any news from there, either. :(

I do realise that ultimately, this wait isn't that big of a deal; as I said, Foster's is hugely popular, both amongst viewers and critics, it's one of CN's flagship shows, and we know that a fifth season has been commissioned. We know the show will come back...so why leave us hanging? I really felt the show was on a roll when Season Four ended, both as a brand and as a creative work; I would hate for Season Five to get crowded out when it airs because the momentum and awareness was gone... :macwor:

Ah, my current stress levels are getting to me; I should chill out. 8-) I just need to remember that the Foster's DVD set is out, and that Powerpuff Girls season boxsets are finally coming (after nine long years of waiting :bloocross: ), and all is well with the world...

HEy everybody_

Thought I'd pop in to answer some questions here. Yes, new episodes begin My 4th - honestly, it's news to me. Craig and I have no say as to air dates. We have a few new episodes finished that haven't aired yet, but the folks in programming like to horde 'em so they can play several premieres in a row. They say that if you air a premiere followed by several repeats, people tune out. So that's one reason for the wait.

Another reason, and I'm sure you understand this, is that making cartoons takes a LOOOOOOOONG time. But it is for the best. We got real behind in the schedule once and lost a handful of important crew members. We could have kept going and rushed to finish, approved less than par scripts, not gone over storyboards, used ugly character designs, and then given you all kinda "eh" shows really FAST! But instead we opted to push the schedule and get better shows to you later. So that's another reason for the wait.

Craig and I haven't had a vacation since Christmas of '05. Not that I'm complaining, I just wanted to let you guys know that it's not like we're not laying around relaxing and not caring about the show. :P

As for the blog, I never really did it. Craig was spear heading it, and it's come to the point where Craig is so busy getting shows to you (and working in CN development) that he hasn't been able to get to it. And actually, I think he's kinda embarrassed about neglectingit and it's keeping him form posting more. Perhaps it would be best if we shut it down. We though about asking a crew member to take the reigns, but we all need our time to get our work done. I hate to say it, but maybe it should just come down.

So just hang in there - may is just around the corner!!!

Wow...and here I was just blowing off steam. I didn't think Lauren Faust would actually read it...ah, Never Forgotten is great. :P

Anyhoo, thanks a lot for clearing things up, Lauren. Like I said, I fully understand that Rome isn't built in a day; I would wait any amount of time if that's what it takes to create something that will live up to the extraordinarily high standard we've come to expect from the show. Good things come to those who wait, and all that; we know you guys are busting your chops behind the scenes to get us our Foster's fix, and we know it'll be ready when it's ready. It's just the waiting in silence that's so tough! :P

As for the blog thing, I can totally empathise with that - I'm always forgetting things and then feeling too ashamed to fix them, except that I don't even have an excuse for it; I'm just a waster. :P If you all close the blog down it'll be a shame, but I certainly wouldn't judge anyone for it...

I understand about the blog shutting down - overworking oneself is NOT good. Taing short breaks to avoid burning out ultimately means less time lost than if you do burn out - take it from personal experience, as about half of the people I work with did *not* take that advice (including the office manager, whoi managed to cripple herself out of commission for three months).

Yeah! I say 5 is not good enough! I say 6! Or 7 Or even 42!!:D I can't help it, it's just a once in a lifetime opertunity, lol!:) But still, 42 IS better. Not sure if Craig can live that long, though.:P

Like I said, after May 18th, there will be premieres as part of the Cartoon Network Summer 07 promo starting on Memorial Day through Labor Day.

That's when two well known kid-oriented networks adjust their skeds to do daytime blocks and evening debuts.

EDIT: Changed "after" date following new episode announced.

I agree with the last comment; great avatar.

I might not get to see the premiere of Season 5, though. If not, I may avoid this place to avoid being spoiled. :P

One more day! I wouldn't like being spoiled too, but I can't avoid this forum for 13 more months. I'll just hope it's on youtube quickly. :)

Good spot, Ccook50! :D After all this waiting, looks like the floodgates are opening now...I'll get a topic going for the new ep on the other board (I've always wanted to do that :P).

Hopefully I won't have to wait too long to see these. Teletoon really surprised me when they aired "Cheese A Go Go" so soon. Here's hoping that they make it a habit to air new episodes quickly. :D
